Now ive done a bit of traveling and sometimes a place that looks great can be kinda gimmicky, so this was my fear with this location, BUT now that I have been I can promise Mystery Spot was easily my favorite part of our trip. The owner was there, she was funny and kind and very knowledgeable! Another highlight was a shock, the layout! it was so easy to walk through and get lost in each room, everything was organized and easy to look through. I can't say enough how much that helped, I hate feeling like a bull in a china shop so feeling comfortable walking around was a big factor for me. My partner and I purchased our first antique and have our eye on our next purchase here, giving us an excuse to come back to the beautiful little paradise that is Phoenicia. Thank you Mystery Spot! I really loved how things were organized here. I'm a huge trinket antiquer so I loved how each of the shelves were all filled with correlating items - like there was a shelf of just Disney stuff, things were separated by different kinds of animals, the Jesus memorabilia, glassware, and loads of MCM!! There was a really nice selection of vintage clothing here too! Gorgeous bold dresses of an old era. Prices were fantastic as well; usually a lot of shops try to upsell you on things that are otherwise relatively common to come across if you're looking in the right places. But here, the cost was reasonable. I would've bought out the whole shop if we didn't have to have car space driving back to Buffalo! If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely find a reason to make a pit stop here!

I bought a teak dresser from Steve last month, and I've been very pleased with it. He refinished it and delivered on time, within just a few days of purchase. It looks fantastic and operates well (the drawers open smoothly, etc) and is overall a really sturdy and beautiful piece. Also, you can't beat free delivery in NYC. If you don't find anything you currently like, just wait - it seems like they are always getting new pieces in.
