Out for gas and a local errand when I saw that there was a new business in the location of one of…read moremy former favorites, Simplicity, which closed unexpectedly last year. In its place, a vintage shop, full of cut crystal, blown glass, small furnishings, Some costume jewelry pieces and an abundance of Crystal and China. The shop is run by a lady from Alabama, who, even after 43 years managed to keep her delightful accent. I want this place to work and thrive but I fear that the buying market won't support the mission. This is not a consignment shop but you will find pieces that you would expect to find in a consignment shop. Many of the items are priced fairly and they are in good condition. Some of the clothing in the back are not in keeping with the Quality of the collectibles, in my opinion. I definitely miss Simplicity and the ability to consign locally. I did see a few items in this shop that I may return for. I'd encourage you to look for yourself. Leave big, bulky coats, and bags at home because they do have items set closely together, and many are unbreakable. please use caution. Friendly, welcoming, staff and montages based on color, style, and decade, make it fun to know how things could fit together in your place.

Unfortunately, I must update this review due to a subsequent experience. They still have a good…read moreselection of gently used clothes and shoes. However, the owner of the store...smh. During a bag sale, at the checkout, she took out a pair of shoes, removed the tag, and set them aside. They were new and brand name. She rung me up, not saying anything about the shoes, so I asked about them: Are these not in the bag sale? (they had the right color tag and priced at $8.50/under $10, therefore meeting all the bag sale requirements). If not, I told her that I still wanted them. She only replied "you're good...you're good," as in I had met my limit of purchases for the day, and she refused to sell them to me, separately. They were obviously supposed to be included in the bag sale, so she declined to answer my question or engage in conversation about the shoes. Also, while she was ringing up my items, she remarked how I was "making out like a fat rat," and then she looked at me and called out to me: "fat rat." This might have been excused as a joke, if her tone wasn't angry, like I was stealing from her. It seems like she doesn't want my business. To her credit though, I am an exceptional thrift shopper and I don't think she envisioned people with more advanced shopping skills coming to her sale. Sorry, not sorry.

I'm visiting from San Diego. Came in to this place and got two items for my daughter when paying I…read morementioned if she could apply the20% coupon that I had seen on line. She said no it's too late. I thought this is definitely not San Diego. We're cool people in SD. They would have done that for me and for you. Not this place. Not a customer service oriented place. Too bad.
