I have a wide…read morearray of antiques living in an older Victorian home, and always love to pop into spots to see what I can add to my collections. This particular spot had a wide variety of items. I found many items I was interested in, and then I came across a Steiff Hand puppet hedgehog. It was not in the best condition, but once I saw it, I could not get it out of my head. By far the cutest little find to add to my Steiff collection! I asked to open and count them right in front of her. She promised over and over again that they were all there. She said she remembered counting them herself. (My fault to not go with my instinct). When I get in the car, I opened it to see and it turns out, they aren't "91jumbo size color dominos", but old regular sized white and black dominos! Even if you didn't know the game, the tin box said very clear what was in it and even has a picture of what they are supposed to look like. I took them immediately back in before leaving the parking lot. I explained that this wasn't even what I purchased and didn't open it up because of her personal assurance. Nothing but a "sorry, but no returns". Even though I expressed that it wasn't a return because I didn't like it Or it was damaged. I'm returning it because she lied about counting it and never opened it to clearly see it wasn't the right set or she didn't know what she was looking at and just thought dominos. My advice, don't trust "oh I personally counted myself". Open it, inspect it, count it. Because they won't make good on a sale that they even guarantee. I know it's a thrift store and you take chances, but it's just bad business to say you did something and in actuality didn't do it properly or at all. I didn't need an apology on their mistake. I needed a correction on a bad sale.

But if it's Christmas that you're looking for, Christmas you will get. So impressive, from completely intact boxes of tiny glass ornaments to 1950s Santas and reindeer. Also, their antique Easter offerings are legit. Although jam-packed with stuff (little to no furniture, it's all knick-knacks, I believe), so much so that it's hard to take it all in, I think even Marie Kondo herself would find immense joy in something here. Note: as others mention, this store is way more organized and all items are clean and seem to be in good condition (unlike some of the other shops on the block). It might also be a good idea to call ahead for hours of operation. We drove by a couple of times, only to see that it was closed. On one Saturday morning, racks of vintage clothing had been placed out on the porch, leading us to believe that the store was open for business, so we drove on into the driveway and to the parking lot in the rear, prompting the owner to ask if he could help us. It wasn't open, though it sort of looked it, and we were told that they weren't open until 11 a.m. When we returned, there was a sign that said they wouldn't be open on an upcoming Saturday. All good, of course, but it would behoove you to call ahead.
