So where to begin? We got quotes for a garage that is 16x34. It has two garage doors one in the front one in the back with a ramp. We also widened our driveway by six feet and laid a concrete sidewalk and porch around the back of our house. We got the quote from a few companies and we chose Affordable Garages and Concrete. They were not the cheapest but were not the most expensive. They also seemed to know a lot about what we wanted and what the city would allow. The garage framing took one day. Just amazing. However they put the window in the wrong place. They offered to move it but it was already installed and we didn't want to delay our project. The other thing that was miscommunicated from the original quote was the pitch of the roof and how much storage could go in the rafters. We wanted to have a lot of storage in the rafters so we added the extra joists and plywood to our quote We were not told that the pitch of the roof would only be 2 foot at the tallest point. So at the last minute when we found that out we had to change the roof pitch in order to make it work. That upgrade was $1800 above our quote. All the workers were very kind and skilled. Trash was cleaned up and our yards were kept clean. They are very hard working. The owner was very nice and quick to answer any questions we had and fixed any issues or things we didn't like. My wife is very analytical and is very detailed. My point being she noticed everything and questioned it. The owner always answered her questions and fixed any issues. We are a hard client to satisfy but in the end we were very satisfied. All in all this was a great experience and we are glad we chose AGC. If we ever move and need a garage we will call again. And we highly recommend them.

We had Affordable Garages tear down our small existing garage and build us a new two car oversize garage and the experience could not have been better! Not only does their name ring true (affordable, indeed) but they were able to start work immediately. From start to finish, the entire process only took about a month (including a snow delay) and considering we had thought it would take about three, we were thrilled! Ken from Affordable Garages communicated with my husband on a regular basis, keeping us updated and it really made the project go smoothly. We're really happy with the way the garage looks/functions and how quickly it all happened. I highly recommend this company!

David and his team did amazing work, and for an incredibly reasonably price. He did some exterior…read moretuckpointing, matched brick 1947 brick for a slight exterior alteration, and fixed some interior cracking in plaster with concrete block underneath. Communication was great, David even called me to let me know he was going to be a half hour late. Fantatstic work. Would hire again.

I met the owner, David, when he was doing some work for a neighbor. The neighbor spoke highly of…read morethe experience and the result, so I called the company. And I called one other company for a second bid. David showed up in time for our appointment, and his explanation of the problem (80 year old mortar in our brick house was falling out). The previous owner had gotten some of it repaired. That mortar was failing, too. I was particularly concerned because one pillar that carries a heavy load was cracked so badly (see photo) that you could see daylight through it from top to bottom. David explained why it had failed, and how the repair work someone had done years ago made matters worse. His bid that was about the same price as the other firm, but his explanation -- and the bid itself -- were so clear that D. Masonry was my obvious choice. He provided me with proof of insurance, too, a request the other company ignored. They lived up to my high expectations. Watching them work, I realized that tuck pointing is a highly skilled craft, practically an art form. They took the time to mix and try a range of mortar colors. With their help, we selected the one they advised. Now that the new mortar has completely dried, I can see it is a perfect color match. The pillar I was so nervous about? They elaborately jacked up and stabilized things, so they could remove the pillar, which they disassembled completely, laying out all the bricks (with all the old mortar removed), so they could put them back exactly as they were, only sturdy now, and good as new. Masonry repairs -- done well -- simply disappear when the work is done, right? As long as I own this house, my gratitude for this job-well-done will live on.
