I had a very disappointing experience with One Clear Choice Garage Door. My garage door recently developed about a 1-inch gap at the floor on one side. When the technician arrived, I pointed out that the cable tension on that side seemed different from the other side. He spent about 30 minutes trying to fix it, but I could not stay with him the entire time, so I'm not sure what was actually done. In the end, he told me, "this is the best I can do" and that "it's just an old door." He also suggested replacing the doors. I paid $221 for this visit and was left with the same problem. That was extremely frustrating. I later fixed the issue myself. It turned out that the cable drum on one side had lost its grip on the torsion bar. The replacement part cost about $20, and after watching a few YouTube videos and spending about an hour, I was able to fix the issue. What bothers me most is that this seems like something an experienced garage door technician should have been able to diagnose. They replaced both the double side and also the single side garage door of my home with new doors. They did an amazing job; they were punctual, knowledgeable and affordable. I recently called them to come out to do a check-up service on the doors. I was relieved to find that all these years later they were still as professional and friendly. You will get terrible follow-up service if you have any problems with a door or opener. My new door and Liftmaster opener began having problems this winter. The door only closes a foot or three feet or sometimes just an inch, and then slide back up to the open position. Several days I have had to give up and close the door manually and just leave it unlocked all night or all day. This has been going on repeatedly for several weeks. One Clear Choice says it is not their problem, and I have to contact the manufacturer. I did this, and Liftmaster gets out of the problem by doing no more than sending a list of Do-It-Yourself instructions for disabling the opener, removing the sensors, stripping the wires to the sensors, reinstalling and rewiring the connection to the opener, and then reinstalling and properly adjusting the sensors again. The "guarantee" from these two companies assumes customers are trained electricians, or will pay out of pocket top find their own electrician to fix any problems. I'd say just be careful on the fine print of One Clear Choice contracts, because they really are going to do nothing after the initial installation. read more

Well, I am not as satisfied at all with the professionalism of One Clear Choice Garage Doors. I selected to contact them about my garage door control unit that got fried by lightning because of all the excellent reviews. The quoted price was very good on the phone but they told me that they would have to charge me $80 for a real submittable estimate for my insurance. I still went ahead and scheduled a technician visit for today. I was told he would be there between 10AM and 2PM. At 1:30 PM I called them because I had no news at all and work to do... I cannot wait all day for a tech. I have also my own work to do. I was put on hold and then told that the tech would be there in about one hour. I do not know about you, my dear reader, but I hate people being late and more especially without bothering to warn me about it. So I cancelled. In conclusion I do not know if I am missing on an excellent service but timeliness is one very important factor in my book. read more

We wanted an inexpensive but secure door on a shed. We are disappointed in the product and the service. We should have been wiser when we were told we had to pay in full up front. The door is Clopay, but so much cheaper material than our other Clopay that we purchased years ago for our house. We did not purchase an opener, and there is no handle for opening and closing the door. When we asked for one to be installed, we were ignored. The locking mechanism is flimsy, not a replacement for what we had, and we were not advised of the construction before installation. It started malfunctioning from day 1. They did send out a service person once, but it is loose again and it is obvious it will not last after just a few months. We asked them to put in a sturdier locking mechanism and we would pay the difference, and to install a handle - never heard from them again. I cannot recommend this company. read more

I have contacted the company after receiving a coupon for $699 and $999. I requested an upgrade to the double door (16x7ft). The quotes came, and eventually, I decided to go with them. Then the prices jumped from the quoted by some $500. I inquired again what happened, and they stated that there was a price increase and then the coupon "expired" It is a lie since they are sending the same coupon in the Value pack. They use the coupons as bait and switch to more expensive doors, ranging from $999 to over $2k per door. They also play a game with the tax collected. For example, they charge tax on the expensive door and then "give" credit for the price difference between the costly door and the coupon door price without crediting the tax collected. I am extremely dissatisfied with One Clear Choice Garage Doors. I purchased a Liftmaster garage door opener for $399, installation included, and it also included one remote. This unit doesn't come with a keypad and does not work with our existing one, which was an additional $55. During the installation, the technician wanted to install new springs. I told him that now wasn't the best time, so I asked him to work past them instead. He then noticed I had two bolts that needed tightening, he replaced them with longer bolts, which he called a "tear down, rebuild, and balance torsion assembly" for $208. However, my installer said he had a $69 coupon to "ease the pain," so it ended up costing $139. The total for the install was $593 plus tax. Fast forward 4 HOURS, and the garage door won't stay shut; it bounces up when you try to close it. We climbed a ladder and unplugged it, which worked for a few hours, but the problem kept recurring. We even unlatched the door, per customer service's suggestion. This happened on a Thursday, and they came back on Monday after we called customer service and told them that their install had failed. Come Monday, the installer told me that the laser eye was hitting my garage door, causing it to bounce up. I asked him to adjust it, and he said that would cost $150. I couldn't believe it and said, "You're kidding me, right?" He replied, "No, this needs a new bracket, which is not part of the basic install." I asked the obvious question: "Why didn't the other installer identify this?" My current installer did not know, but he had a $69 coupon to "ease my pain." So, the total cost to date is $673 plus tax. I am not convinced that this latest service call has alleviated my problem. Completely dissatisfied and would never refer them to anyone. read more

13 May 23 - this company notified me this morning that Charlie was on his way to repair my garage door. They also sent me a text yesterday confirming that they would be here between 8:00 am -10:00 am today. I looked up this company before I called them because I got a $64 coupon that came in the mail. They are a very reliable company and they did a fantastic job not only repairing the part that was damaged but also checked all the rest of the screws and parts on my garage door. Charlie was Very knowledgeable, friendly and he has been doing garage doors for several years. I was referred to this company by a contractor friend who was a long-time customer and I have also now been a customer for many years. I have referred thousands of dollars of business to this company and I have been very satisfied with their work. Unfortunately the garage door industry is now experiencing a nationwide shortage of torsion springs which looks like it will continue through the rest of 2021, perhaps not resolving until spring 2022. One Clear Choice has used this situation as an opportunity to triple their prices. Even worse, they said nothing about this to me when I made a service appointment by telephone. Their technician sprang the pricing on me when he showed up. He then had the gall to deny what they were doing, to tell me my estimate of the time required to do the work was nuts, and to claim their pricing was reasonable. Funny, One Clear Choice, one phone call and I found a reputable vendor who charged more than 40% less. Funny, One Clear Choice, the other vendor was able to complete the work in precisely 30 minutes, a fraction of the time you claimed was necessary. One Clear Choice--not the choice for me. I'm sorry if you've been having a hard time over the past 18 months. This is not the way to fix your business. I'll never call you again. read more

My garage door spring broke. The first company I called couldn't come for five days and my car was stuck in the garage. The second company came within two hours but couldn't so the job due to the weight of my garage door, but the tech recommended One Clear Choice. I called and Tony G. was there within an hour. He had a solution that wasn't the super expensive custom-made spring that company #2 said would likely be required. He fixed it up, gave me a quick tutorial on how to do maintenance to prolong function. The price was incredibly fair for the scope of the job. Tony was also the nicest guy!! The lifetime warranty gives me peace of mind because my garage door is ridiculously heavy, we use the garage as our primary entry into the house, and this is our forever home. Thanks OCC and Tony! If I could give them a zero I would. came out just to do service on my three garage doors, and order a price of door that was thicker than the other doors. They did a fine job on two out of three. the third door is my main garage door, which I use for my car. the door was working just fine. they greased the gliders so they say and checked the motor said that it was old and needed a whole replacement. I told them that's nice I would just like them to order me the piece that I needed. that evening I closed my garage door everything was fine. the next morning I open my garage door and it would open only half way. I called service came out and they said that a piece had broken inside making it so that it would only open half way now and the only thing I could do is replace the garage door opener. so in my eyes not only did they mess up my perfectly fine operating garage but I have never heard from the since for the part they were going to replace. never ever will I have them come out or reccomend them for anything. I have every proof and documentation of all the work they did and didn't do. read more

I just want to take some time and give a BIG SHOUT OUT to Charlie C. for a phenomenal job done. He is very amicable and and very well skilled in the profession and knows his job very well. Basically, back in Feb 2023, I had One Clear choice send over a technician to remove & replace the main spring on the garage door. That guy did not do a good job. He was trying to upsell an additional ~$1000 job before he started to replace the broken spring. Upon the spring replacement, I wasn't comfortable with how the door operated prior to the broken spring. The door kept struggling to lift up and made a lot of noise. The door did not even hold up and stay put at the the same place after being detached from the motor and would just slam down once it was let go but the technician did not admit that there was an issue, My hunch have always been that the new thin/lean spring was an after market item that wasn't designed to work with a double garage door. Anyways, the technician left without addressing my concerns which did not make me happy. I have been dealing with the noise and a struggling garage door until this week when I finally decided to call One Clear Choice Garage door once again to see if they would honor this initial cheesy job done and to see if they would honor this as a warranty item. It was a bit difficult for me to convince the guy over at the warranty department to have someone come over to take a look at my garage door. He finally said that he would send the same guy (who replaced the spring back in Feb 2023) to come over and take a look at it. I refused to have the same guy over so they sent over a different guy, Charlie C. I want to personally give Charlie 100 stars for a job well done. He was very apt. He measured the door weight using the scales and then ran some numbers. He then un-did the spring, extended the spring a bit and re-did the tension on it which helped the door to stay put wherever it was being left (manually). He also balanced the rails. That did the MAGIC. The door now is running smooth and there is no load on the motor (in pulling a 215 lbs door). Thank you once again, Charlie for a job VERY WELL DONE. I truly appreciate it. You ROCK CHARLIE!!! God forbid, if I ever need any other repairs related to my garage door, I'm asking for you at your company. My garage door stopped working suddenly on Thursday afternoon. I called immediately to find out when someone could come out. To my surprise they were available that afternoon! They gave me a window between 4 and 6. They showed up promptly at 4 and in a few minutes figured out the problem... broken spring. While making repairs a few other things were identified as potential problems. There was no high pressure to resolve issues immediately...just providing information so we could make an informed decision. Pricing was reasonable and work was completed within 45 minutes! An absolutely fab company. They replaced my garage doors and all openers several years ago, including all of the coils and wires. They came out about a year after install to clean and lube and check everything. The price for both original install and maintenance a year after were both very fair. And this year, they came out within 15 hours of my call at night to clean and fix the garage door opener that a bird had laid a nest in. I very rarely leave my garage door open, I didn't know a bird could build a nest so quickly!! But the door went up, with nest and possibly eggs in it. It was a mess and a disaster, the opener track and gear looked like a mess. I called One Clear Choice at like 8pm, explained what happened, and they came out the next day to clean everything, oil up track, realign everything and check it all out. The price they gave me was very fair, they worked quickly and explained everything to me at the end. This is not my first home, I've been a homeowner for 20+ years, dealt with tons of contractors, repairmen, businesses who help/repair/replace things in your home. Buyer beware. I've never encountered a company so intolerant of reflection. From the moment I brought up concerns, every person I spoke with started with "YOU did sign the contract" to shut me down. Blame the victim. Unwilling to even consider bad practices occurred when not one of these people was present. I requested repeatedly for a phone call to discuss other details but no one would call me back. Only email. Why such CYA going on? I can assure you, I made the mistake of signing for work based on verbal discussion. I was NEVER shown the contract, when I was handed the tablet, there was only the LINE FOR SIGNATURE. I was told to "finger sign" on the tablet for work to start. I assumed the work was for what we discussed. The first time I saw the contract was after the tech left and sent it in an email. Yes, this was my mistake - trusting when I should not have. Now I understand why the tech kept asking, "Is there anything you want to ask me?" Yup, I was not told the unit I was expecting to get was not the unit installed. Nor was I asked about add-ons that were installed. Or even given a price for them. I should have ended the appointment when the tech asked, "Can you keep a secret?" This is not a case of buyers remorse. This is bad business practices and padding a bill. Had I not at the outset explained how much I had to spend and how my financial situation was rough, this would be easier to take. read more

I had One Clear Choice out on Jan 8th to fix my garage door and my remotes that weren't working. The technician was very friendly and told me that everything was fixed and ready to go. A few days after he left, the remotes again stopped working and now I am parking outside again. I called One Clear Choice and and they told me they were hesitant to come back out and that if they did, they would have to charge me for a new service call because, "If your remotes stop working, that's not on us". I thought this was poor customer service and I will be getting my garage fixed by another company. I would not recommend One Clear Choice. read more

The thing I like about One Clear Choice is they list their prices on their website. They also frequently have coupons in the Valpack mailers. My garage broke and I was able to schedule an appointment for the following morning. They said between 10a and 12p, and they showed up at 11a. I appreciate when companies show up on time, so good job. I needed the springs replaced, and the repair guy said my drums were worn out (they're probably about 25 years old) and recommended I replace them. I agreed, so he fixed the spring and the drums, and the price was reasonable. The repairs took just under and hour. The repair guy was quick, friendly, and helpful. Chris, I shouldn't have had to attempt to contact anyone at your office. I told the installer several different times that I was unhappy with the complete door and the way I was treated. It then became his duty as your employee to voice that he had a very unhappy customer and your office should have contacted me. I even told him I was going to write a review on my experience. People don't care what seal of approval you have of how many reviews you have, if you do poor quality work and treat customers poorly all the reviews in the world mean nothing to the one guy you didn't please. read more

One random day, the motor in my newly purchased (but not newly built) home just up and died. My husband and I did some research on garage repair options and decided to hire these guys after getting several quotes around town. A repair guy was able to come out to our house the same day that we called. Make sure you know what you want and do your research about garage door repair beforehand! The up-selling was kind of ridiculous. The size of the motor, wheels, the keypad, a separate protection system to block other signals . . . all kinds of stuff was offered up. Who knew garage repair could be so glamorous? Make sure you know what you need because if you are a pushover, you will call for a $200 job and $1100 later you'll have a garage door that shoots laser beams and does your taxes. So anyway, an hour or so later we had a new motor and a new keypad. Great. 5 days later, one of the springs on our garage broke. I want to believe that this was just coincidence, that it had nothing to do with the motor repair. So we called them up again. The guy who came was extremely nice, efficient, and helpful. He gave us a great deal on the spring repair. I'm crossing my fingers that we won't need anymore repairs, but if we do, we'll be calling these guys. read more

This was a top notch experience from start to finish. We had two problems with our garage door - it would randomly open itself and it was noisy as h$ll. After receiving the flyer in the mail, validating their BBB status and the fact that they were with Tom Martino's list, I gave them a call. After a quick consult, they were able to book me exactly when I wanted. William came by to conduct the service. He was a nice guy and helped explain my options - both the "NEEDS" and the "Options" to solve my concerns. I decided to have them fix the rollers and put in a new garage opener. William did a great job with the repairs and was very professional the entire time. Despite the fact that I had this guy working late on a Friday night, he was in great spirits and took his time to make sure everything was in proper working order. DO NOT USE THEM! I purchased two openers for my new build home clients and they get out to the property today to find out it's an 8foot door and want to charge me another $128 per door!!!! How unprofessional is that runaround!?!? I am a Realtor, have been in the industry for 10 years. I have a list of pre-listing questions I ask on the phone before I come to the property so I am prepared and can manage expectations. For the amount of business they do they would be well served with better questions up front. Follow Up: Just received the invoice only hours after their installation. They noted in RED ink that the garage door springs were considered failing and there's rust! Holy Shit, this is a BRAND NEW DOOR Installed by the builder less than one month ago. I saw it for myself and even opened it. this isn't even the case! WTH? AND They charged an additional $36 for coming out to the house, located in Arvada. Seriously!!!!! So you know, I'm one of those picky, hard-to-please types. If I pay to have something professionally done, I like to feel like it was professionally done. I can't say enough about how happy I am with One Clear Choice. I called because my garage door was binding on the way down. The people on the phone were awesome, friendly, and knowledgeable. They walked me through the pricing and all the steps of the service call. The staff that I dealt with on the phone all represented the company as if they owned it (sorry, I don't remember your names). They called me a couple extra times to stay on top of my expectations of arrival times (because of bad weather) and the technician, Isaac, arrived within 15 minutes of the beginning of my 2-hour window. He was long gone before my window even ended. Isaac showed up in uniform, was clean-cut, and extremely friendly and professional. He tuned up and repaired my door (by replacing all of my 35-year-old rollers in about 20 minutes) for only $20 more than I've paid Overhead for just a (so-called) tune up (all they did was spray lubricant on my rollers) in the past that found nothing. Isaac (who was awesome) thoroughly inspected every component of my door and was clearly able to show me 3 different severely-failing and unsafe components (cables, drums, and cable-attachments). It cost me more than I'd planned on, but I was grateful these problems were discovered and would have spent it a year ago had Overhead bothered to notice. Isaac was able to explain everything to me, then finished my repair very quickly and re-adjusted my garage door opener when he was done. I called One Clear Choice regarding a spring that had broken on our double gargage door. Ty, our technician did a preliminary inspection and made recommendations based on what was required first and what could be addressed if we chose. Our opener had been causing minor problems also. Based on Ty's recommendation I had our opener replaced and new rollers which has made our 20 year old door like new again. I highly recommend this company, as they arrived on time, had all parts required for our repair, were very knkowledgeable and efficient wih their time. I LOVE my new garage doors! I decided it was time to purchase new garage doors, as my old ones were warped and ugly and 35 years old. I originally called a different company to get an estimate. The salesman came out with no samples, tried to talk me out of what I wanted (faux wood doors) and then said he'd have to call me back with pricing, which he never did. So I started looking at Yelp reviews again and contacted One Clear Choice. What a great decision! They have a showroom which allowed me to see a faux wood door up close and personal. I chose Clopay Gallery doors with a dark, faux wood finish. Within two days, their sales guy came out and measured and gave me an estimate. I placed an order and two weeks later...new doors! Great experience from start to finish. The doors are beautiful and my neighbors tell me they have garage door envy. read more

I needed a sensor changed on a 1 year old garage, after the sensor was changed my garage door sounds like its been in use for 30 years. Was told nothing they can do even though they caused the problem. I just wanted my 90 day warranty extended to 180 days. The garage is under my 3year old and 1 year old rooms... So if we use the garage at night it will be sure to wake them! Never told me why the noise is there now. Sucks Thanks for noise! read more

We had springs installed 6 years ago with a lifetime warranty. It wasn't a bad deal but I'm guessing the 2 year warranty might be the way to go because it still costs $150 to have the lifetime warranty springs replaced. Springs with a 2 year warranty are quoted at $176. I called about a broken spring and they quoted me $150 the phone for replacement (labor since the springs were covered) and were able to come the following day. The tech arrived promptly and sized up the job. He highly recommended I replace the bearings and the rollers, as he believed them to be 30 years old. He quoted the whole project at $550 then dropped it to $500 when I hesitated. He threw in a new 5" door seal and drums; however I really wish I had called around but the tech was onsite and able to get the work done. In the future I'll have them just do the work that's been requested and do my research on the other services. May still use their firm for the additional work but just don't like the approach of being up-sold. read more

I had a garage door spring fail on me. Scheduled my appointment opting for a regular appointment instead of emergency service which would have cost more but that was explained to me in detail ahead of time. On the day of the appointment, the technician called to tell me he was going to be early, when he arrived he went right to work, completed the repair in under an hour, spent 10 minutes explaining everything to me including features of the garage door I didn't know I had. He assessed that my door was in pretty good shape and didn't need any additional work (I was sure he was going to upsell me something). We conducted the business transaction and my documents were emailed to me by the time he got in his truck. In summary, great work, great service, fair price. Highly recommend. read more
