We had an issue with our A/C. American home shield sent Affordable heat and air to our home. Ray came out and the issue was diagnosed and American Home shield did not cover all the cost. We paid $2280 out of pocket ahead of time. Affordable had to order the parts so we waited for the parts to come in. Affordable came out and supposedly fixed the issue. The air worked for 2 weeks until the anti freeze ran out which they charged us for too. We got a 2nd opinion and we were told affordable installed used parts and we had to get a whole new unit. We feel like we were taken advantage of. We reached out to Ray at Affordabe to get our money back and he is claiming that he did not install used parts and that we need a whole new unit and that affordable can do it for 10k. He also blamed the issuue on coils being completely clogged with insects and debris which he should have pointed out when he first diagnosed the issue. Ray with affordable heat and air came to my house today to give a second opinion for my home warranty company on my AC repair. The problem had been completely misdiagnosed by the first company assigned causing me to be without air conditioning and my house was between 91 and 93° for over two weeks. Ray was able to diagnose the problem within minutes and had The repair complete within about 30 minutes. I found Ray to be extremely knowledgeable, very professional & pleasant to work with. Their office staff is equally pleasant & went above and beyond in working with my home warranty company.. This is the second time I have used this company and I'm very pleased With the entire experience and it feels good to say thank you for a job well done. read more

Monday-Friday 9-5 company only. Second time have had to have them out for AC repair in less than 60 days, in extreme heat. Request went in Friday and received a text 9n Sunday to schedule for Monday. Non-existent customer service. Company does not triage repairs, creating long wait times for repairs. Recommend finding a different service provider. read more

*** UPDATE I spoke with the owner Ray YESTERDAY 8/18/23 about his wife's horrible behavior and let them know that they had horrible yelp reviews and lo and behold today they have change the name of their business, here in Yelp, change their telephone number, and change the name of the manager, trying to disguise who they really are. It's so sad that they even changed their website to go to a charity now. Shouldn't be surprising with people like this! I attached a photo of the actual companies information since they feel the need to be deceitful to the people. HORRIBLE!!! The owner Misty is just terrible to deal with. I created a work order with my warranty company and they assigned it to this company. I got no call, text or email for almost 48 hours. It states they WILL CONTACT YOU within 24 hours! I never received anything from them directly...i did receive an email from the warranty company that the contractor had just scheduled an appt without contacting me. When I saw the appt was scheduled for a day/time I was unavail i contacted them. The owner Misty told me that she could not schedule my appt for Friday when I would be home and that she wasn't allowed....also she told me the home warranty company required the customer be at the beck and call of the contractor which is completely false. I called the warranty company and they confirmed that is untrue. They called and spoke to Misty and then all of the sudden i get another email from the warranty company yesterday that they had scheduled it for Friday. Today husband took the day off work to be there and they no show no call for my 8-12 appt they scheduled. I just called and Misty told me I didn't confirm my appt. I never received anything from them directly...no text no email...only from warranty company! I guess this just furthers the reason they have 1 start on here! Terribly horrible business practices!! I don't recommend affordable heat and air. In the last few months they had been to our rental property twice and not fixed the problem. My home warranty company, American home shield calls only this company every time we have an issue and they just show up, charge me and not fix the problem. I called them for water dripping and the invoice they gave me shows that AC has not been evaluated for the problem I mentioned. They checked different areas that were fine and gave me the long invoice for the things they have done and not needed. Called a reputable company to come service out AC who came out today . And told plus showed me that our Ac froze up bc of a dirty filter NOT that it needed 2#'s of Freon that Raymond told me I needed ($275) to fix my unit. So do not trust these guys what so ever. I definitely would NOT recommend Affordable Heat and Air. My warranty company contacted AHA to service my A/C. After four visits to my house they still were not able accurately diagnose and/or repair my central air. The supervisor, Raymond, came on the last visit. He has the worst attitude I've ever experienced from someone in the service industry. It's wasn't my fault the tech didn't have the skills to do the job. Well, I guess that goes for the supervisor too because it was still broke when they left. A second company came to my house and was able to diagnose the problem in less than ten minutes. They ordered the necessary parts, did the install and now my house is cool again. I don't understand how Affordable Heat and Air is still in business. They are absolutely horrible. read more

My AC was running but not cooling off the house in the afternoon. When he arrived the first thing he did was collect his service fee of $65. He was clearly in a hurry, didn't look at the part of the unit inside my home and spent 5 minutes installing a capacitor and told me this is a common fix. I asked for a receipt but Ray said that he dosen't do that part of the transaction. A few week later, now June, my AC is still not working well but nonetheless still running. I called the warranty company and alas, they sent Ray back for a SECOND time. This time he goes in the attic and tells me my air handler is installed incorrectly and that it probably will not be covered on my warranty. He then turns on my AC, goes outside, uses my hose and sprays water into the unit. Sparks started coming out of the breaker and the unit siezed up and quit working altogether. He then leaves without another word. He lied to my warranty company and charged me $300 plus $65 service fee to NOT FIX AND THEN ACTUALLY BREAK MY AIR CONDITIONER! My warranty company says it's my word against his. He is a CON ARTIST and had no intention of actually fixing my AC. He is in buisness to milk the warranty companies and nickle and dime you to death. STAY CLEAR of this company! There are many more reputable heating and air repair companies in Gainesville to choose from. read more

Not once but twice did this company have to come out and "repair" our heating unit in our house and still hasn't done it right. There is a massive hole in the back of the heating unit pulling in air from the cabinet. This hole was noted by a third party company to check the unit had been installed right. Raymond had to come out after his first "tech" if he can even be called one, replaced the unit. $2600 and 2 visits from the same company later the code inspector begrudgingly passed the inspection after a second time but it wasn't even completed. Not to mention the foam, dirt and mess both techs left the unit, my stairs and surrounding area in. I am having a third, YES THIRD, company come out to fix the install what should've been completed the first day it was installed. I'd say this company could rival EA and Comcast in the Worst Company in America annual awards. Their licenses should be pulled for such a shoddy job done, but even then, it wouldn't be enough of a wake up call for them. The inspector even noted that Raymond was evasive and uncaring if the inspection passed or not. EDIT: I signed up today (1/5/2016) just for the purposes of writing this. read more
