We called him Sunday he came to bid on Monday and then the team showed up on Tuesday ready to go and then finish today on Wednesday. How many times has that happened to you with a contractor? They did such a good job! They were meticulous and took great pride in their work. Our house looks gorgeous inside because of their efforts. The nicest group of guys they cleaned up after themselves they were respectful and left the place cleaner than when we started. I am truly amazed at this painting company and the service they delivered! I mean Wow!

Initially I had received a quote from another painter, but the deal fell through when I asked for a breakdown of his estimate. Seeing that Prime Coatings is recommended by the Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, I decided to give them a call and I am so glad I did! First of all, Scott, the Vice President immediately responded to my phone call and was so pleasant to work with. Scott is very quick to respond to phone calls, texts, and email. He came out to provide an estimate and scope of work within a few days and took meticulous notes and measurements. We received our detailed, itemized contract very soon thereafter. All the pricing was very reasonable, which included the cost of the paint. Their standard paint is Benjamin Moore Regal Select, which is probably the best paint manufacturer. The following week Scott arrived with his foreman Eric, as well as his crew members, Steve and John. Eric, Steve, and John worked tirelessly over two days to complete our painting project. This was impressive, given that they patched and painted two coats on walls and trim for a hall with staircase, three doors and frames, a guest bedroom, and a living room which included repainting a slanted popcorn ceiling. The crew was clean, professional, courteous, and very thorough. They were very accommodating of our pets and were kind enough to replace light bulbs in a fan that is hard to access and even dusted it for us! We were incredibly impressed by the quality painting and patching work. My husband is an engineer with an eagle keen eye for detail and he was thrilled by the caliber of their patching and we both noted how clean the lines in the rooms were painted, especially since the painter that had painted before we bought our home had cut many corners. Prime Coatings are true painting professionals who offer fantastic customer service and deliver high quality work. We could not be any happier with our experience.

They recommended quality materials that will last a good long time, and prepared the roof perfectly (washed, primed, etc.). While they were here, I also had them touch up white paint on columns and headers around the house. They matched the paint perfectly to the new Azek. It looks fantastic. Paul was tremendously helpful throughout the project. Lots of great recommendations and advice. I will definitely use them again. Very professional and reasonably priced. They initially quoted me 4-5 days to paint the exterior of my home, but it ended up taking over a month. Throughout the process, I had to constantly reach out for updates and was even told by my "project manager" to stop reaching out to the office and if I had concerns to reach out to him. After voicing my complaints of the project manager, I was informed that the employee was let go because of the issues I raised. While I appreciate accountability, it shouldn't have taken my frustrations for the company to address their internal problems. Overall, this was an unprofessional and stressful experience. It's disappointing when a company fails to communicate effectively. I was left as a paying customer feeling undervalued and frustrated. I truly do not think this company is best for working families with the lack of urgency displayed by New Haven Painters. I spoke with an absurd amount of people to voice my concerns and still frustrated with this company for the headache they caused me a month later. Update 12/16 - The paint on my back door is peeling. Project finished Oct. 10th and started August 22nd.

Joel Shirk was hired (by referral) to wallpaper a small bathroom. It was the 2nd time the bathroom…read morehad been papered (same design) and having been through a bad installation the first time, I was more educated on vetting another contractor for the job. He did show up when he said he would and did what appeared to be good prep of the walls. However installation wasn't great. I had to stand there and watch to make sure he paid attention to detail. It ended up being better than the first very, very poor installation but it wasn't difficult to do a little better than that. Also, he didn't really seem to care when I asked about fixing the problems and he offered a really weak excuse blaming the paper (which was expensive and good quality). I paid him $500 which isn't terrible, however it's not great for a mediocre job. And -- he had the nerve to send me a thank you note afterwards. It's very concerning to deal with a contractor who doesn't seem to have pride in his work or any concern about doing the best job he can. I cannot recommend his wallpaper work.
