The other painter was extremely flaky and we only had two weeks before moving in to get the house painted. We called Mike the night after closing frantic that out other painter "could no longer do it in the two weeks". Mike came THE NEXT DAY. They painted the hallways, trim, ceilings, closets, mudroom, bedrooms in a 1700 square feet house in one week and it looked absolutely amazing. We had a tight timeline to have a complete cosmetic overhaul of our home prior to moving in. Kyle was extremely attentive and helpful during the quote process. Our closing got moved a few times and Kyle was always accessible to discuss a change in start date and was flexible with us for scheduling. Kyle was extremely helpful with design decisions. He offers lots of expertise regarding colors, etc. he was always available to discuss options and provide samples. Kyle's crews completed all of the contracted work in 14 days! It was unbelievable how hard they worked (day and night) to get all of the work completed. It truly transformed our entire home! We would highly recommend the services provided by Kyle and his crews. Some tips for working with this vendor - Make sure to review the scope of the contract with Kyle in detail. There was some miscommunication regarding whether our finished basement space was included in our contract which stipulated all interior surfaces that cropped up on day 9 of the work. Kyle made this right and his crews painted this room, as well, but it required some discussion. If you are on a tight time table we would recommend checking in on the property regularly and touching base with Kyle on the timeline and being clear on when you need the work to be done. He often reminded us that the work being done would take other contractors 2 months to complete when it seemed we were getting close to our "drop dead" move in date and the work may not be 100% wrapped. While this reminder was well intentioned we selected this contractor because he indicated the work could be done in 9 to 15 days as contracted. At the end of the day we got in on time and all of the work was completed to our standards.

Unfortunately Sun Shining Painting has ruined my children's brand new cedar playset. The stain was…read moreapplied way too thick, is blotchy and has a severely uneven finish. Luis is a nice man however it is obvious he does not know how to work with stain. He feels the results are perfect however no, not at all. I just had two professional painters confirm that the playset is ruined and it will take significant steps to correct. The playset is so destroyed by his shotty staining that it actually requires replacement. I have added screenshots of text messages in which he claims the job was complete. Only after telling him that I was going to withhold final payment did he offer to stop by to "fix" the job. The job is unrepairable. He claims that, with stain, I am supposed to see all the brush marks and that the playset looks great. Obviously it doesn't and the pictures don't lie. He walked away from the job after I explained that his "solution" to slather more stain won't do anything to address the terrible work. This is all on video from my surveillance system. He has left me multiple voicemails with threats to remove the photos I posted, which I won't.

Several companies came to the house for estimates for the paint project. Luis at Sun Shining gave us the best price so we went with his company. We had yet to learn how professional and talented he was. He and one of his employees worked quickly and with precision. He is a perfectionist who gave us extra coats of paint at no cost until the walls were perfect. Our walls were porous and had been in worse shape than we originally thought. Now the walls and doors look so beautiful! It looks like a brand-new house! Most painters would charge extra for as many as 3 coats of paint, but not Luis. He is a devoted Christian who wanted to stay true to his word on the price that he quoted us. He was extremely polite, respectful and friendly. He told us about his delightful wife and his 5 wonderful children. His business is only 2 years old but he worked for his father's painting business in Florida for most of his life. He painted professionally at NASA and at Disney. No wonder he is so talented!
