I'm about to become an official tenant tomorrow, but wanted to share my experience so far…read more I had a 4:30 appointment to see the unit I was interested in. I wound up on East Dexter instead of West. Already late I called the agent John back because he had already called me to see if I was on my way. There was no answer and after figuring out where I went wrong I tried him one more time and he answered and said he showed the unit to one person and waited for a bit and figured I must have changed my mind. He said if I could be there in 5 minutes he would come back, which he did. I liked what I saw and got the applications from him. That left a good impression on me. Arcelli was in contact with me a few times during the application process and as she reminded me at one point was really working with me to get this application done. My son's job didn't return their call to verify his employment and they were about to do an alternate verification but my son's supervisor finally gave us a direct number so that they could do the verification. I had a bankruptcy discharged 3 years ago and it didn't come up, so there might be more to other's reviews. Getting to the signing my son and I have completely different schedules and the staff has been accomodating and flexible. My application originally stated February 15 as a move in date and they didn't hold me to that when we had these dealaysin the process. I think as one other stated that there is always two sides to a story and so far I've found this company to be more than willing to work with me.

This company is unfair and unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone who is…read morelooking to rent. Don't waste your time. Website states in order to submit an application you need to see the unit first. But this individual did the opposite. Filled an application first then saw the unit. Apparently he got the place and what a waste of time for us to fill out an application! What a disappointment!

I am posting this to clarify my experience regarding our rental and my interactions with Chris…read moreHelmich after my previous review was removed. Chris stated that he offered us assistance and a resolution to our financial hardship. That is simply not accurate. The only communication we received was a reminder that rent was due, along with notice of a $56 late fee if payment was not made on time, followed by the statement that after six days we would receive an infraction notice. At no point were we offered an extension, a payment arrangement, or any form of accommodation. Additionally, the unit owner never reached out to us directly to discuss any alternatives or support. During our tenancy, there were serious maintenance concerns that were not addressed in a timely or satisfactory manner. When our apartment experienced flooding and the air conditioning unit was deteriorating, Chris was nowhere to be found. The A/C installation was so poor that you could literally see daylight around the casing. The flooring, which is supposed to be white, appeared black due to the condition, and the state of the oven was unacceptable. We documented everything with photos and videos. My mother, who worked in property management for over 10 years, personally inspected the unit and identified multiple issues that should not exist in a properly maintained rental. There should never be mold present in a water filter--period. We were also told there was a separate heating unit, yet we were left without a functioning heat source while the apartment was extremely cold. This is not just an inconvenience--it is a violation of California housing standards. Under California Code of Regulations, Title 25, Section 34, rental units must be provided with heating facilities capable of maintaining a minimum temperature of 70°F in all habitable rooms, and those systems must be permanently installed and maintained in safe working condition. Portable heaters do not satisfy this legal requirement. We were further told that the overall condition of the property was "not their responsibility," yet our lease binds us to their management, and we were refused contact information for the unit owner when we asked to address these concerns directly. At this point, we are requesting that all communication be handled in writing via email so there is clear documentation. Phone calls are not acceptable. This ensures there is an accurate record of what is said and prevents any misrepresentation of conversations. I will be sharing documentation so others can understand what our experience actually was. This is not about "image" or "quality control," but about accountability and ensuring tenants are provided with safe, habitable living conditions as required by law.

As I searched for a new management team, I knew I wanted a company that offered professionalism, transparency, and modern systems. Specifically, I was looking for clear monthly financial reporting, online service requests for tenants, and a responsive, organized team. MAP has exceeded my expectations in every area. From the beginning, MAP handled the transition seamlessly and professionally. Their experience and expertise were evident in every interaction. In just six months, our property revenue increased, and we received positive feedback from tenants regarding the improved management and communication. Laurie, Sandy, and Patty truly make an exceptional team. Whenever I have questions or concerns, someone responds promptly. They also have a reliable network of contractors, electricians, handymen, and other service providers they can recommend, which has been incredibly valuable and time-saving. I appreciate knowing that the vendors they recommend are trustworthy and fairly priced. What stands out most is their commitment to supporting property owners. They are proactive, solution-oriented, and always willing to help implement changes or address concerns. Even during the sale of one of my properties, MAP worked closely with my real estate agent and helped coordinate communication with tenants throughout the process, which significantly reduced my stress. I highly recommend MAP to any property owner looking for an experienced, professional, and dependable property management company. Their knowledge, responsiveness, and integrity truly set them apart. I only wish I had found them years ago.

Every word every tenant has expressed I believe is fact. Just read for yourself. Rented for a while at one of their properties and not once ever did we see this so called prop management company show up to see the grounds. It was trash every 10ft. Their security only comes to harass tenants over parking. Not secure the community. Not ask the homeless to move along. Not to prevent theft or anything useful. Just tow paying tenants. Someone needs to look into their business practices and petition to have their license revoked.

I have sent 2 emails still no response. Furthermore, Cardinal Management did not update a homeowners Name and Last Name for 18 Months, the name on the Owners Registration payment log is incorrect, all mail from Cardinal has been address to the previous owner. This is deeply concerning , not updating the owners name can potentially compromised communications and is a serious breach of responsibilities as a Management Company. I do not recommend this company. The worst Management Company.
