I had my roof replaced by Affordable Roofing a few years ago, and they were excellent ! They tore the entire roof off, replaced a few sheets of plywood, and shingled the roof - All in one day! I had my roof done last Spring by these guys and I was very satisfied with the price and the job done. One thing to know is that an older roof like mine needed new boards and the older boards were too thin so I need all new boards and I didn't know until they already stripped the shingles. Bumped the price significantly! Still beat all the others hans down! read more

Worst Experience I've ever had So far with Any contractor. He came to my house to fix a leak. Didn't fix the leak the first time Dan came back and demanded more money for the second call without even checking if it stopped leaking. Call the office just to get an explanation on what's going on and the owner gets on the phone yelling and screaming that he wants his money. Horrible experience read more

I had some storm damage, but also four layers of old shingle on top of shakes from circa 1830-something. Not even kidding. This roof needed help. I got a few estimates, and dealt with a lot of roofers who took forever to inspect and write up the estimates. Tom and Lorraine are different: They are immediately accessible by phone, and the nicest people you'll ever talk to, and responded fast -- Tom gave me an estimate in a day (which was 1K less than the nearest estimate), and we scheduled the job to start in a week. They came on time -- even early -- to start the job, and finished in two days as promised. I admit, I didn't think they could do it in two days, but they did. People worry about a total tear-off being a mess, and I was worried about that, too. Four layers of shingle dating back to god knows when, plus the old rotting shakes. And yet, by the time they left (at dark!), the entire job site was cleaned up as if they hadn't been there. The care these guys take is above and beyond. Two things I think are important to mention: Tom walked us through the job, showed us everything they did, and responded to every question my wife or I had. He runs the business and was on-site to make sure it was done right. And it was -- working on an old house is no picnic, and their ability to re-roof and fix the (many) little problems, and keep the existing gutters, it was just incredible. The second thing: This was an insurance job. And when the insurance company pushed back on paying the second half of the bill, an e-mail from Loraine (a few weeks after the job was finished) solved the issue. This is why I'm writing such a long review - these people will go out of their way to make strangers feel like friends. People don't do business like this anymore, at least not in Rockland Co. I feel lucky to have met them, and am proud to have an Affordable Roofing sign in front of the house. read more

I called several roofing companies to repair my roof. I found going to the internet sites promoting verified vendors require some care. All in all I came to affordable roofing on my own.Tom came to my home and I explained my issue. He walked the roof and told me that he felt that I should replace not only the shingles but also the decking below because the original roof was 45 years old and had very little ventilation which he said caused dry rot. He gave me a quote for replacing only the shingles and one to install all new decking as well as a peak vent and shingles. His quote for replacing decking and shingles, while not the cheapest, was well on the low side. He also gave me a date for repair that was only 10 days out whereas all the others were 3 weeks beyond that. He called the day before, advising me he would be there the next day and told me to call the supply house and pay for the material. I found this out of the ordinary, but I did as he said and the following morning the truck appeared at 7am delivered the palitized material and an hour later a boom truck appeared to lift the pallets to my roof. Quit impressive. Tom's crew appeared and within 1 day my roof was totally removed down to the rafters and replaced. It looks great. And when I walked it later I was amazed that it did not sag as previous. The work was done in a clean manner all old material hauled away and my lawn and surrounding areas raked and swept of any remaining junk. We got 3 quotes that varied a lot, for our 2,700 sq.ft. ranch. The highest was over 20K, which was way out of our budget. Affordable Roofing were the lowest quote by quite a margin. They turned out to be excellent and we are very happy with the new roof. They have a single crew that is very experienced and they (owners Tommy and Lorraine) supervise every job. The deal is that they order all the materials - but you then pay the supplier, ABC Roofing Materials a few days before the job starts. Affordable lives up to their quote, are very honest, tidy up after the job, and I highly recommend them. They use GAF materials, that are the best. read more
