During a recent storm, a massive ficus tree in our backyard fell down. We got estimates from several companies, most of which were exorbitant. Affordable Tree Service was one of the only two companies that provided a quote we felt was fair so we hired them. Eric and his crew arrived on time on the scheduled day, worked hard, and the tree was entirely gone by late afternoon ... stump and all. ATS was respectful of our property and left our lawn in good shape, too. We're delighted we found ATS and will certainly use them in the future. They did tree trimming for 10 oak trees. WHAT I LOVED: 1- PRICING: Their pricing ranged from 12% to 30% lower than their competition. 2- TIMING: I called Ray on Monday, and on Tuesday he came by and gave me the estimate. By Thursday I called back to see when he could schedule me. Most people told me after Thanksgiving, but Ray scheduled the work for the following week. 3- GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND: They also trimmed areas that were not included in the original quote because it would not look right. 4- FAMILY OWNED: Ray, his son, and his grandson work in the business. WHAT I WAS NOT CRAZY ABOUT: 1- LACK OF DIRECTION/SUPERVISION: Ray's son was the supervisor of the crew that came to do the work. One hour into the job, he had to leave to quote other jobs. Ray came 1 hour later, supervised the job for about 20-30 minutes and then left. The work was not as efficient and organized as it was when Ray's son was present. The crew had good skills and worked very hard, but it was definitely not the same. 2- LENGTH OF JOB: It is my perception that this is related to the previous item. I had an emergency job due to close to lines in my back yard. Very big tree that had a downed limb close to the cable and drop line for my power. Called on thursday and he had the crane there Friday afternoon. Tree all gone and no mess left. Eric and his crew did an excellent job for us, removing several large Brazilian Pepper trees, grinding stumps and cleaning up a ton of branches and debris from our back yard.
