I went again today and I got the same pedicure and when I got to my car I was honestly shocked at the quality. There was pieces of orange pulp and globs of lotion left over on my legs which was sticky and unpleasant and looking at my toes they were all different shapes, cut too short so they were rounded weird, and there was almost no callus removal at all. There was dead skin and dirt still under my nails. "It looks like you did it yourself" my partner told me after he looked at it. I told the manger and he brought out a hot towel to wipe my legs off and told me the technicians try their best to remove the skin and whatever else and I let him know for $86 it should look much better than it did. He gave me a gift card for the $18 gel polish up charge after telling me he would refund it. I don't know I'm just disappointed.

However, after giving it some time and monitoring how badly my nails have been doing, I felt like I needed to share my experience. I had a pedicure with the extended massage, but unfortunately it didn't feel like a massage at all--it was mostly just scrubbing on my legs. I also had gel polish that needed to be removed, and the nail technician was extremely rough while filing it off. At one point, the filing actually hurt. She filed my nails down so much that they are now extremely thin, and one of my nails is already breaking off. What makes this especially frustrating is that I had been taking a break from nail services. I had only gotten gel once in the previous six months, had it serviced just once, and my natural nails were otherwise very healthy and strong. They had never broken or become this thin before. Now all of my nails are noticeably thin, even with polish and top coat, and I genuinely regret going to Radiance. I really wanted to give the salon the benefit of the doubt and see if my nails would recover, but after watching them continue to break and deteriorate, I feel this experience is worth sharing.

Parking can be a bit tight but I usually go on a weekday afternoon so it's never crowded. This is inside a hair salon as FYI but Mi Won's nail salon inside is cute and bright. She's fluent in both English and Korean and is really nice where she even offers beverage if you want some. For basic gel, would take about 90 mins versus actual design can take 2-3 hours (depending on what the design is). She does such a great job with my nails and always makes sure if I'm okay. I've been going a few times on a monthly basis (4-6 weeks) and I always look forward to it. Just know that her schedule can get pretty packed with appointments as it's just her solely so be sure to book an appointment if you ever consider on going! This is definitely my go-to for nails in San Diego!
