I went to Aftermarket Guru based solely on the excellent yelp reviews, but the service I receive has shocked myself, of all the businesses I have written bad reviews for, none stacks up to the experience I have received at Aftermarket Guru. I have never had an employee lashed out at me like Brian did, yelling at me in front of his co-workers threatening to call the police, just a whole scene, I was looking at the installer and the front desk JC they were too even surprised on how Brian lashed out at me. I believe it spawned from a scratch that was on the center console. When I dropped of the vehicle there were no scratches on the center console, but when I went to check on the car there was a scratch right above the radio so I brought it up to Brian. After awhile the installer came back and said if we put the original bezel back it actually covered that scratch up, so maybe there was already a scratch to begin with, we don't know but anyways I felt sorry for accusing the installer so I apologized to the installer (again I am not 100% certain if it was there or not as the bezel covered the scratch area) Nonetheless after a few minutes I was outside talking with the installer Brian suddenly came out and started yelling and lashing out at me. I was startled and confused I try to ask him why but he then started saying GTFO I will call the police if you don't leave and all that, ultimately he stormed out and left? Me and the installer were just looking at each other confused? and the installer offered to put everything back. I am not sure what really happened with Brian he said I lied and accused them, I apologized and I couldn't have known if the scratch was there or not as it was sitting behind the radio bezel. Brian should not have acted the way he did, lashing out at an customer, I have never received this kind of brutality in my life quite frantic I was shocked confused, threatened offended. The service itself was so-so, very pricey, they even installed different brand speakers that was not agreed upon and ultimately because of Brian's chaotic moment and told me to GTFO they didn't even complete the whole job, Also the car was suppose to be in there for 1 day but it was there for 3 days due to them saying employees were calling out and ultimately even after 3 days the car was not done. I paid 80% of the job but they only completed 50% of the job and ultimately I would not have given them the job if I knew they couldn't complete the work and Brian lashing out at me. Unacceptable, giving 1 star is an understatement I really hope the owner reflects on this review and talks to Brian. Update / Edit Replying to the owner's review you offered the repair / repaint after I pointed out the scratch not after we both learned that the bezel hid the scratch. I I didn't even pursue, after the fact I learned that the scratch might have been there, This is where it get extremely untrue you said I "demanded" a replacement dash and termination of a employee, and that I became hostile or abusive? Please be truthful (I didn't demand/ask anyone to be terminated and I didn't demand for replacement dash) In my review I said I was confused why Brian flipped, since I don't know what I did so wrong for him to lash out at me, and that the installer and I even looked at each other confused, Also if I was being hostile and abusive why did your installer even offered to put back everything and why did Brian storm off? In your reply you didn't address why it was okay for him to lash out. I have never been hostile or abusive in my encounter with anybody and that is the same to your business, but I would tell the community everything went fine until Brian lashed out at me. This is unacceptable and this is where I'm going to stop this pointless argument you can protect Brian all you want. At the end of the day I received bad service and you got a 1 star because of my experience from your shop. read more

Brought my 2015 BMW here. It's a 10-year old car with no Apple CarPlay or other features. Needed tinted windows, too (it's hot in Nevada!). Imagine taking your car in for a simple camera install, thinking it would be a routine upgrade. That's exactly how my situation started. But soon after dropping the car off, things went downhill fast. For days, Aftermarket Gurus (the shop) fumbled with my car, trying and failing to fix problems they'd clearly caused. In the end, I had to have the car towed to a dealership, where it sat for over a week before the real problem--damage caused by the install--was finally fixed. Aftermarket Gurus caused $3,000 (three thousand dollars) in damage. What's worse: this was my son's car, and I recommended Aftermarket Gurus based on their "stellar" Google reviews. I've learned Google reviews may not be as reliable as I once thought. After weeks, the dealership provided the repair bill and root cause, confirming Aftermarket Gurus' incompetent and negligent work. Despite admitting fault to us, Aftermarket Gurus didn't step up. Instead, they stalled, dodged responsibility, and ignored the bill for repairs their own mistakes created. Today, I'm reluctantly paying the repair bill so I can get my son's car back to him, but the story doesn't end here--I'm seeking full accountability through every channel available. Looking back, this experience was a harsh and expensive lesson in just how wrong a visit to an aftermarket installer can go. Came here because they were one of the only shops I called that would do fabricating and needed them to uninstall a safe I had installed previously. After having a relatively good experience getting the safe removed from one vehicle, I returned to get the safe reinstalled in another vehicle. This was when the issues began. During the installation of the safe in a new vehicle, the team "accidentally" cuts the main cable bundle in my new car, and then proceeds to tell me that it was my fault for being in the shop supervising the installation. Ok, I can kinda understand that I incur a certain amount liability by being present during the install, but I didn't tell them to cut the main cable bundle. That was their fault. So now I am waiting for my vehicle to get fixed. But I am also on the hook for finding alternate transport for myself to work and back on my own dime in addition to having to pay for half of the cost of the replacement cable bundle. When they finally "fix" my car and get the replacement cable bundle installed, I get my car back and immediately notice many things wrong. 1.) sunroof connector was not properly reconnected during their reinstall of the main cable bundle. I had to open up the overhead console and reconnect the sunroof plug to the main bundle myself. 2.) rear seat latch not properly connected - a few days after getting the car back, I noticed the rear seat latches would not lower the rear seats when I was getting ready for a trip. Had to go back into the shop and have them take care of this. This is almost a week after I got the vehicle back. I was going to forgive the sun roof not being connected properly, only because I fixed that issue myself, but the rear seat latches I couldn't do myself, so they had to fix their work. This was because they had to take out everything from the interior to replace the main cable bundle, and neglected to put everything back the way they found it. If you mess up someone's car and they have to leave that car for a week after you messed up, you would think they would take the extra time and care to make sure you get your car back in better condition than you found it. 3.) upon receipt of my vehicle after the safe install, I noticed a chip to the paint on the rear passenger door, presumably from where someone opened the door and hit the corner of the door against something. They said they would fix this issue. It took them 3 weeks to get the paint to fix up the ding to the door, but I had to call them to find out they had the paint and were ready to fix the ding. So I schedule a time to come out on a Saturday, but I when I arrive, they tell me they are still waiting for the paint to come in. Why did you schedule me to come out if you didn't have what you needed to fix my door?! This goes on for a few more days. They finally come out to my home to fix the ding, and say they will come back to sand out the paint and make it look nice, but then instead of actually following through, I am just left hanging and no one calls me back to finish the job. Overall, I have been very displeased by the service rendered by this shop. They treat my car like it's not worth anything, and treat me as a person even worse by not following through and making me have to chase them to get any kind of follow up service. If I could do it all over again, I would find another shop for custom work because these guys are a joke. Take your business elsewhere, you'll be glad you did. Still waiting on them to call me back to reschedule a time to finish the ding on my door a month after having this safe installed. Will not be going back for any services and would not recommend this shop for any kind of service. Edit 2/4/25 day after posting review, the shop finally reached back out to me and offered to come out to finish the paint touch up on the door. They apologized for not getting back to me in a timely manner and finished the repair they started. I will definitely give credit where credit is due and Brian has been helpful and resonanble throughout this entire experience, but I can't deny that the overall service has been hit or miss for me. Advice for improvement to the shop, please follow up and be concise about what you will do to fix your mistakes. If you say you can come out on Sunday to finish what you start, then come out on Sunday like you say. If you can't make it out because you have other engagements, that's understandable, but tell me as such. Especially when we've had to go back and forth for over a month to get everything squared away. read more

Yesterday, I picked up my 2020 c8 from After Market Guru for a vertical door kit install and window tint. I went with After Market Guru in Vegas, which was suggested to me by the Vertical Doors Rep. I was told they were a certified installer. Couple things happened when I picked up the car. I noticed my car was not there when I arrived. I was staring out the window talking to the owner Romeo, who seemed to be stalling me. I was in a bit of a hurry because my wife was waiting outside for me, in our other vehicle. While I'm staring outside I noticed my car pulls into the parking lot and they pull into their shop. At this time I don't think anything about it. They then pull it out the shop and to the front door, someone brings in my keys, I pay the owner and then go look at my car. I start my car and immediately noticed my camera on my rearview mirror is not working. I immediately go back inside and tell them my rearview mirror camera is not working and showing a blue screen. They become defensive and say its not their fault. They refuse to even look at and tell me to take it to the Chevy dealership. I ask them if I take it to the Chevy dealership and the dealer says that the door install caused it, will they pay for it. Romeo refuses to answer. I call the vertical door rep, and he then calls Romeo directly. I can kind tell that the vertical door rep and Romeo are getting into it over the phone, Romeo hangs up. I called the vertical door rep back and asking what's going to happen. I don't believe they will honor their warranty. He did say I could drive the car to CA. if something goes wrong with the doors. As I'm driving home the camera is flickering on and off, and sometime blue screening. I'm assuming it's some sort of lose connection, my wife and I are moving the doors up and down and I'm tapping the mirror. On the way to the Chevy dealership the mirror starts working perfectly and at the dealership we can't recreate the issue. The service person thinks that someone changed the toggle on the mirror and didn't have it fully pushed into the camera position and as I was hitting bumps, that is what was causing it to go in and out. The dealership didn't charge me which was nice, and seems like there was no major issue. I get home to review the PDR recordings. I can tell the installer deleted recording, because they forgot to delete all the recording and I can see that my car is at a different shop then where I dropped it off. There is also no recording of when I saw the guy driving my car into the shop. Also looks like they had a female passenger in my car who left a eye liner brush and hair tie in my passenger door compartment. I don't know where they took my car. read more

I went in to have the speakers in my 20-year-old Toyota Sienna van replaced after one of them failed, causing an awful bass buzz. My volume control had also quit working. The dealer who services my car was unable to do the speaker work, and they said that the volume control could not be fixed without replacing the entire in-dash system for $1,300 plus labor. Aftermarket Guru's owner proposed a six speaker upgrade with Kenwood speakers to avoid replacing the old speakers one at a time. This made sense, so that's what he did. The speakers sound great, and he was able to fix the volume control at no extra charge. The cost of the work for all parts and labor was $905. This was my first experience with this company, and I now understand why its reviews are so good! read more

I brought in my Tesla Model Y Performance to install a custom carbon fiber steering wheel. Made an appointment and visited their shop. They have a very nice showroom and friendly crew. Their shop was very impressive and clean. They were busy with a lot of customer cars in for all kinds of services. They do everything car culture related to create your dream ride. Steve worked on my car and installed my custom steering wheel. It looked great! I had a Tesla error message that he said had to be cleared by Tesla Service. I made a service request with Tesla and they informed me that they couldn't work with aftermarket parts. The technician was kind enough to give me a solution. I went back to the Aftermarket Guru shop with this info and Steve was able to it get all working. The steering wheel buttons, the heating element, the horn and the error message disappeared.
