Obsessed! Vinyls line the walls while the bartender darns suspenders and I'm instantly transported to another time. I'm glad I got to see the bar striped down, and before I came in for a themed night. I got to see it in its full form. It's gothic charm is mysterious and inviting. I wanted to stay there all night, but I was only there for two drinks. The first one was the "Fancy Tin Cookie" and it tasted like dessert. There was literally a cookie in this whiskey based cocktail. My next beverage was a creation by the bartender which was a pineapple rum cocktail. This was exactly what I was looking for. Something light, refreshing, but not too sweet. This was a lovely experience, and I look forward to coming back for sure. read more

I've heard that the Aftermath is a staple bar at Ridgewood & after visiting I can see why. First off, the vinyl records & space itself is very cool. Second, it's a very spacious bar as well. Third, the drinks are great. I didn't get any of the classic cocktails & just got a classic gimlet from the HH menu. However, it was great & I loved that there was a generous amount of fresh lime juice given. I also love that this spot has restaurant pop-ups as it's spreading word about up & coming places. read more

Can't rave about this place enough!! Highly recommend! Such a cute small gem in ridgewood and so happy we were able to walk in for a drink. We sat at the bar and the bartender was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable and very into his cocktail making. We mainly came in to have a drink and then head out for dinner but we will definitely come back for more bites and drinks in the future. We order the "slutty labubu" and "el Chente" cocktail, both were incredible delicious and refreshing! And because we just wanted to taste something from the menu, we ordered the loaded nachos and omg we loved it ! We were very impressed as this was not a place we were going to go in the first place. Aftermath is a newer cozy bar in Ridgewood that has the perfect balance of relaxing ambiance and tasty drinks. My friend and I stopped in yesterday evening for a quick drink and the rosé cider that I chose was absolutely delicious. They play vinyl for the music at this bar which is a big plus, and shoutout to the bartender for putting on a Sade album! It really set the mood. Aftermath has it all food, drinks, excellent service. It's a dark vibey place with plenty of seating at the bar and throughout. They have a vast vinyl collection in which they play but they also have great dj's come through. The food menu is limited so it's not a place to come to for dinner. The bartenders are so nice and well-versed on beers and know how to make an excellent cocktail. In fact, they are constantly creating their own recipes and always killing it. read more

Bierwax is a cute spot to hang with friends or meet new ones. The menu had a nice variety of beers and an impressive cocktail list. The Deep Purple cocktail was quite tasty. I loved the retro 70's music (which turned into r&b and hip hop later in the evening) and the extensive record collection that spanned the room. The relaxed vibe of the bar was very welcoming and I was very happy that the music wasn't too loud. If I am in the area, I would definitely make a "bee line" to Bierwax! read more

This place quickly became my favorite place to go to. First off, if you're looking for a place with great beer selection, you've found the right place, and if you're looking for a place with amazing cocktails you've found the right place. I've been to many bars and none of them can toe the line of having both areas done so well as bierwax queens. When it comes to food, while their menu is small, the Grilled Cheese with Fig Spread is DELICIOUS and you can even add Prosciutto. Next, the staff is incredible, Rudy, Ariel, Bailey, and Chris are the best. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable, they will help you decide on what to have if you ask. Quick service even on crowded nights and very accommodating. Now the actual look of the place. This is a stand out in Ridgewood. From the vinyls lining the walls, to the Star Wars figures and helmets, this place is just, for a lack of a better word, DOPE. It is extremely spacious, with two sofas you can sit on, but if you're like me, the bar seating is the place to be. They also have high top tables if you come with a Small group or even a large crowd. Along with high ceilings, amazing decorations and art, you will not be disappointed by this place. If you're like me, the music at a bar is extremely important. This place has an AMAZING music selection and it just keeps growing, you'll find yourself bobbing along to songs you know and also learning about new music and enjoying that as well. Along with DJs who come through and put in a clinic on certain days you'll have an amazing time. I know this review is very long but i had to try to do this place justice. read more

The cocktails here were great, and so was my date. They spin killer records at this place, all so dissimilar from one another, and yet still cultivating a great atmosphere for visitors. There's plenty of space and some cute seating areas. The only thing I didn't care for was that the bartenders seemed a little disinterested in helping people navigate the drink menu (which to be fair, had incredible drinks on it).
