I have to give it the full 5 stars. Every time I come here they don't disappoint. The food is always great. I have sat in and ate and did the take out menu. The ambience is nice. Music playing in the background while they have sports on the tv. Intimate and low light. Gives a cozy field to Spanish food. I have ordered the tacos which are delicious. They serve chips with sauce and have drinks. They also serve tostones with the meal. The staff are very pleasant and helpful with the menu. The steak tacos are very good here! Not only do they come with the classic cilantro and onions but with dollops of guacamole as well. They also serve their tacos with radishes, cucumbers and a nice, tangy green sauce. You can't disappoint with that combo! My first time ordering from and tasting the food from Las Margaritas. I ordered empanadas and the enchiladas (one each chicken, savory grilled steak and cheese). It came with a side of rice and delicious beans. I asked for the sauces on the side and they put them in small coffee type cups secured with tape and labeled. Me and my wife sat on the patio ( 81 outside w/ very low humidity) the out door seating area was nicely shaded and the service was speedy. Not to mention our server ( who's name I can't remember) was very interpretive w/ our needs. ( it was almost telepathic) I see that there are quite a few " Las Margaritas " and if they are of any connections this one is by far the best one. I ordered 3 tacos ;2 Al pastor & 1 lengua. The flavor in the pastor was 10/10. My only critique is that I prefer the more traditional style pastor which usually there are pineapples but like I said flavor was still amazing and tender. The lengua was perfectly cooked and seasoned. For you non Spanish speakers lengua is cow tongue and say what you want but it's fire! My wife had the mojarra which is fried fish. 10/10 We also had a michelada w/Modelo and a Victoria 10/10 on the chilled mug. read more

Came in for a late night bite with friends. Place was empty not unexpected for a weeknight. We were allowed to sit anywhere. The waitress came and checked in on us pretty quickly. We were given chips and salsa for the table. They don't have tap soda so you get can which means no free refills. I had a shrimp taco as I just wanted something small. I used to be a regular at the bay ridge location but I accidentally placed an order at the one located in ridgewood queens . I called the restaurant and they offered to keep my food warm since I wouldn't be there to pick up for another 40 min (I was going from the Brooklyn branch). Service was friendly and the food is exactly like the bay ridge restaurant. I always crave their lengua tacos and guacamole. Las Margaritas is right on Fresh Pond Road and the area gets pretty busy since the subway is right by and street parking can be hard to find. They have indoor seating and a shed for outdoor seating. Their menu has a ton of pictures, but they don't list the prices of their drinks which is annoying. The best part of Las Margaritas is their drinks and food are all huge portions for reasonable prices. They also serve complementary tortilla chips with salsa. I got the Lengua Tortas (Beef Tongue Sandwich) (~$9) and I think it's the best sandwich. All the ingredients complimented each other and and the beef tongue wasn't too gamey. Unfortunately, the wait time for our drinks and food was ridiculously long. Our drinks came out first and by the time we got our food, we finished all our drinks and waited for over an hour. Although the waitress did apologize for taking so long, my friends and I were pretty hangry by the end of it. TLDR: Affordable drinks and food with large portions, but the wait time for our everything took way too long. read more

Last night will be my last time coming to this restaurant. Have been coming to Las Margaritas for over two years and always LOVED it. service wasn't always the best but the drinks were always amazing. Pricing is above average and food was/has been bland. BUT what made it all okay were the waitresses in the past. As of recent, understandably, people quit and move on but take ownership in hiring people capable of handling the work load, can't save everything with a smile. I won't get into detail about what changed my decision about coming back because a business is a business and this is just a review, but will say management and customer service here has changed immensely. My husband and I were walking down Fresh Pond Road and looking for a place to get tacos. When we saw that Las Margaritas was packed, we had to go in. Everyone in the bar had a delicious looking drink, so we got some too. Rus got the sangria and I got a mango mojito. Complimentary chips and salsa came out quickly, too. The combo of mango and mint wasn't my favorite, but I still enjoyed the refreshing beverage. It wasn't too heavy on the alcohol and it was definitely on the sweeter side. I might try a frozen margarita next time. Our tacos were really good. Three was too many for me to eat. Next time I'll get two. The shrimp in the shrimp tacos were really big and juicy. And a nice spoonful of guac was included on each taco. Delicious! This place is so lively inside. My favourite aspect though was their guacamole; I think it was some of the most flavourful and freshest guacamole I've had. With past positive experiences at Las Margaritas, I am disappointed to say that the place has gone downhill. I will say that their drinks are good and strong; their passion fruit margarita is to die for. There are some waitresses I've had in past experiences who still work there and are kind and attentive. This is not the case for my most recent experience. For an appetizer, my party ordered the loaded nachos with chicken. What we received was a plate with about 10 chips max, a tiny bit of black beans and sour cream, some tomatoes, cheese and guac - and about a bag's worth of lettuce on top. After waiting a while before being seated, we were starving so we dug in. It didn't taste bad by any means, but it just... was not what we asked for and certainly not worth what we paid for. $11 for a glorified salad bowl. Since we did visit on Cinco de Mayo, we understood that it will be busy and service will be a tad slow. But I'm not kidding that our waitress did not even look in our direction once or ask if we were doing okay between getting our app and our entrees. We informed her that the app wasn't what we asked for, and she said she'd speak with her manager. She came back to our table a little while later and explained what should have been on the nachos, lettuce was not one of the things she mentioned. She suggested we must've ordered something else, which is just not true. She kind of just shrugged her shoulders and walked away... we did not see this waitress at all after that- nowhere, not even serving her other tables. Another waitress came to clear our plates and bring the check. We expressed our concern once again (we realize she had nothing to do with this and was just the messenger), and she expressed that nothing could be taken off our bill. She did offer us some lemonades to go, but only after we said that we will not be returning after this experience. Again, we realize she was just the messenger, but where was our original waitress? The manager? Overall handled very poorly. Our entrees were subpar at best. All three of us got the chicken tinga burritos. Tinga usually has a bit of a kick to it, but these were very bland and frankly, just didn't taste all that great. In the past, we were offered different types of spicy sauces for our burritos, but not this time. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here; very overpriced for mediocre food you could make yourself at home. As I alluded to before, I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant. Me and my husband went here Tuesday night and were so happy with everything. We have been to the one In Astoria a couple of times but have heard good things so decided to trek over and try it. They have an outside hut with plenty of heaters so was great. Maria our server was so lovely, and very attentive! There was also another server working who also kept an eye on us and she was so sweet aswell. They insisted people in the neighborhood know that the sign means before 7 pm, but what about the people not from the neighborhood, such as myself...? I guess outsiders should not be in the known about a public restaurant with advertisements outside?
