VERY BAD..I had a very frustrating experience with this business. Over the past month, my appointment was canceled three separate times, often with little to no notice. This made it impossible to rely on them or plan my schedule. What made things worse was how the situation was handled by management. The manager's name is ELENA and EDMA a worker Instead of offering solutions or showing any accountability, the response was dismissive and unprofessional. There was no effort to make things right or prioritize the customer. I understand that occasional issues happen, but repeated cancellations combined with poor communication and rude customer service is unacceptable. As a first time customer, I schedule a massage with Agape knowing the reviews aren't great, especially they calling the customer to cancel or reschedule their massages a lot. I called the morning of my appointment to confirm it and they said yes, it's all set. So 20 minutes be for my appt., while half way there, I get a call to reschedule it. I purchased 6 massage certificates more than 3 years ago. And in those 3 years, I was able to book an appointment once, only to have them call back to cancel on the same day. I will say the massage therapists always did a great job, too bad the owner of Agape Massage was was scoundrel and a cheat! I am contacting my credit card company to see if I can get a refund on the 6 certificates that can now be used as toilet paper. I have received massages from this place. The office staff is caring but often times they have called me to cancel. We had about 10 gift certificates and it took u several years to use them all. I have, as of late, been training for my 2nd full marathon, and as such, I need to get my massage on y'all. When I'm cruising for a muscle rub, I usually bounce on over to Agape for some tension relief. While most of the people who have massaged me have been worth the money and the time (it's super inexpensive for an hour deep-tissue massage), the best two to go to are...wait. I'm NOT telling! It's hard enough to get a time with my #2 person, but my #1 pick is nearly impossible. I'd like to go AT LEAST twice a week, but my girls are booked up son! If you have some tension to work out, and you live near by, I would DEF make an appointment at Agape. Good Christian people, rubbing you down with lotion and the power of the Lord. Why do I say that? Well, Agape doesn't charge much mostly because it's a ministry, passing along the good word. I certainly don't mind it, and at the very least, when I'm in a mood to talk it makes for good conversation; however, if you aren't down for talking about Christianity or the like, they don't shove it down your throat like other ministries might (except for the constant Christian music). I would do NO stars if I could.... My friend gave me a 1-hour massage gift certificate for my birthday. I first called to schedule to use it and was told the therapists only do their schedule one week in advance, their therapists were already booked for the week, so I would have to call the following week when the next schedule was posted. When I did schedule the massage, the office called me about 30 minutes before the appointment the day-of to cancel since my scheduled therapist "was not in." They re-scheduled me for the next day. The next day, I got a call about 4 hours in advance this time saying they had to cancel (no explanation given), and that going forward "for the holiday season" (Um...it's only November 14?!?!), therapists are making their schedules the day-of, so I would have to call the morning-of to try to get on their schedule. I told them that this was the second cancellation in two days, absolute horrible customer service, that they could take their certificate and shove it, and that I would let my friend know to never purchase anything from them again. I started coming here when the facility name was Stasio Chiropractic and have continued to go to Agape. This is a no frills chiropractic office and the setting may turn some people off but I have had a great experience. The office plays Christian music which is fine but again, might not be to some people's taste (and can be a bit loud). I have seen Joel and he is great at getting the knots out. This place has amazing massages for the best prices. I went in and got an HOUR full body and deep tissue massage for $25!!!! And they had like a whole team of people working. The guy I had, Jay, was super friendly and was perfect. Overall I had a great experience at this place. The price was a special when I went in but I don't think it's much more regularly. And I recommend calling for an appointment as it seems they get a lot of people coming in and when we called the soonest we could get in was three days. read more

I used one and got a mediocre massage from some heavyset chic who reeked of cigarettes and would not SHUT UP the whole time she did my massage. When I tried to book another appt the name had changed and I was told the Stasio gift. certs were no good. Fortunately my Mom had paid for them for them on her credit card and got her money back for the unused certificates. THE STASIO VICTIMS NEED TO SPEAK UP!!! This was formerly Stasio Chiropractic, who did EXACTLY the same business, down to the same employees. Stasio routinely sold massage certificates in bulk for a discount. ($300 for 30 certs) The certs were not supposed to have any expiration date. Stasio shut down, and without missing a day of work, they changed the sign, kept the same employees and simply reopened as Agape..............probably because the many that were holding massage certs were standing there with their jaws agape. Agape honored the certificates for 2 weeks.............and didn't notify any of the cert holders of the change, so you simply may or may not have stumbled upon it within the appropriate time frame. This is CRIMINAL!! They have ripped off their most loyal customers, and now expect to continue with business as usual??? All in the 'name of the lord'.......................what a hypocrit !!!!! Still to date I have not received anything for the 18 massages I purchased. I purchased 18 certificates and they said they will give me noting for them and nothing off. I went to Clinton Township and they said all that was filed with them is a name change. They said the owner is and was Craig Stasio. So now I think I will look into a small claims lawsuit against him personally. Being the owner of the old and owner of the new he owes me 18 massages. If his "new" office will not work this out I guess I will have to purchase them from another place then sue him for the costs of the 18 he owes me. read more

Complaint is filed with the BBB!!! I've been a patient of Agape Massage & Chiropractic (formerly known as Stascio Chiropractic) for approximately ten years. I followed the clinic from its original location on Hoover to the location on Hayes. Approximately 4 weeks ago, during the week of January 21st, I scheduled 2 massage appointments. One on Tuesday, Jan. 22, and one on the day of my birthday, Friday, Jan. 25th. My appointment on Tuesday went well, as usual. I was really excited for my appointment on Friday, my birthday with a little relaxation followed by a day of celebrating with family and friends. I planned my whole day around my massage appt. at 11 am. A few minutes after I checked in and sat down,they called me back to the front desk and informed me that I didn't have an appt. A bit puzzled, I told them that I had two appointments this week, one on Tuesday and one today. I told them there must be a mistake because I know for a fact I had an appt. scheduled today for my birthday. The young girl at the desk gave a stoic apology and couldn't care less about the importance of my appt. I told her it was my birthday and I was scheduled today at 11 am. I asked to speak to the Manager and she said SHE was the Manager. I told her I need to be compensated with a gift certificate for the mistake they made and she unprofessionally said, "I can't do that." I said, "You're the Manager, you need to do something." Again, she repeated, I can't do that." Without offering any recourse or taking any action to resolve this, her un-professionalism and lack of customer service experience was evident. I was so appalled by her action, I stormed out of there! I contacted the Manager of the plaza to file a complaint with Dr. Stascio, the owner of the massage clinic. He was made aware of this incident but decided not to take action, nor did he even offer an apology. He claims to be a devout Christian man who preaches the word of God to his students and even plays Christian music in his clinic. It's blatantly obvious he lacks Christian moral character! I have been going to Agape for years and i will say that their prices are low and i usually get a good massage there. But the customer service sucks lately as far as booking is concerned! I had a massage cancelled twice on me in one week, the second time only two hours beforehand. I have been trying since the 13th of this month to get ahold of the manager to complain. I keep being told she is not available. I ask when she will be in. I call back and again she's not available. You get the picture. What kind of a business never has a manager available? Buyer Beware!!!! It took weeks to finally get an appointment. 2/20/13 when I arrived I was told it would cost an additional $25.00. When I called I was told the difference in price was $9.95. Then the person (wouldn't even call her a lady) behind the desk was very rude. Telling me good luck and to contact the number on the certificate. I took my useless certificate and left. I called the office when I got home to only get someone else just as rude. When I stated how I was treated rudely she asked me if I was yelled at or sworn at. At Stasio Clinic in Warren I bought 10 massages certificates $275 but NEVER used because clinic said they were renovating building and now it is closed down. I saw a lease and sell sign and asked if they were moving BEFORE I bought certificates and they lied and said no. He had Christian pictures and music all over so I believed them. What better way to hide. No expiration date on certificates and it says can be used at both clinics, warren and clinton twp. Dr Craig Stasio also owned or owns clinic in Clinton twp which is now named Agape and I called them. They said they bought the business and are not affiliated with Dr Craig Stasio but I think they are. Called my credit card company. They will work on this fraud. STAY AWAY!!!! I have been going to Stasio Chiropractic, now Agape for about 15 years to appointments in 3 locations and always enjoyed it. I bought 15 certificates in Sept 2012 which have always had no expiration on them. The office say they changed ownership in October 2012 but said they would honor all of the Stasio Certificates. I last went on January 26th for a massage and left as normal with a smile with no comments from the front office before or after. I forgot to give my favorite masseuse Duncan his Christmas/New Year's Chocolates so I stopped in during the first week of February 2013. I was then told that they were no longer accepting the Stasio certificates which I had 7 left of. They told me I could pay a $7 difference to be able to use them. Since I didn't travel with them on me I was told I could exchange them out the next time I came in. With a sick family member in February I was not available or able to make an appointment, I went to get an appointment and am NOW told that they are not honoring them or letting me exchange them. The office manager was rude and simply a bitch!!! She said that they had to be exchanged out by 2/19/13 which is not what they told me in person because I would have done that. After 15 years and tons of referrals they are being cheap over $70 vs. 15 years more of services from me that included chiropractic care. They offered no apology; not even we will exchange half. It was basically go fly a kite. I asked to speak with the doctor and they said I couldn't. They were so unprofessional and snotty. They made no attempt to reach out to their clients to notify them of this sudden change or decision to screw us out of money. I have always told others about this place and bought lots of certificates as gifts. NOW I WILL DO THE OPPOSITE AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS NOT TO GO HERE! They are running a horrible practice by not standing behind what they say. They say they are Christians but they are the devil in disguise!! I am so angry but not surprised to read (see the yellow page reviews for Stasio) that others were treated like me. I can't believe how our stories are so similar about how they were told 1 thing and then another just to cheat us out of our money. I say we all get together and go to FOX 2 Hall of Shame. They can't and shouldn't be able to get away with this. I, too, have purchased the discount, NO Expiration date massage gift certificates and now am eating the remainder, not to mention the ones I gave as gifts can no longer be redeemed. I will never return for massage or chiropractic to a business that displays these types of practices. Typically businesses that close and re-open with the same owner under a new name were forced to do so because of shady practices. I'm sure the way Dr. Stasio conducts his business is quite apparent to all of us. He knew that he would be taking people's money by not honoring the certificates we paid for and he knew we would be unhappy. Obviously he doesn't care enough about his business or patients which is why he hasn't responded to people calling in with their complaints.
