I had my 3rd implant with these guys yesterday. The first two, from a couple months ago, seem fine…read moreso far, though I have not had crowns put on them yet. This morning they gave me a call - I thought it would be asking how I was, instead they informed me the dentist I saw just yesterday had suddenly left, and I needed a new provider. They refused to give me any reason for his leaving. I've worked 45 years and never heard of a professional leaving overnight with no notice. The manager I spoke to said she knew nothing about it, that the central office had not shared with them, but refused to give me a central office number to talk to anyone else. How do I know the dentist was not fired for incompetence? She told me it was "not unusual" for people to leave without notice - I told her from a McDonalds maybe, but in my 45 years working I have never heard of a professional doing that. When I pressed for an answer or another number to call she hung up on me. I understand there are privacy issues they have to deal with, but I have $10,000 of work in my mouth and the guy who put it in just did a bunk. I think they owe me more than just offering to reschedule followups. If there dentists are this irresponsible how can they be trusted?

Milford staff was great and accommodating on the phone and took care of making the appointment. Arrived for my appointment and Lauren took me in and was fantastic reassuring me and stayed with me the entire time. The Doc arrived and she was fantastic, reassuring and gentle and the extraction went flawlessly! All my worrying for nothing! I highly recommend Metrowest Oral Surgical, any of the offices as they all worked together.

I have a lot of dental issues, I've always had them all my life. I've dealt with many dentists,…read moreendodontists, and oral surgeons. I have had dental extractions performed by three highly renowned oral surgeons in three different cities: DC, San Francisco, and now Boston, and this is the first time of all those procedures that I was not in significant pain beyond two days afterward. Dr. Lucca is extraordinary. Not only does he have impeccable bedside manner but his kindness, grace, and compassion, especially during what was an emergency procedure for me were extraordinary. His surgical expertise is on another high level caliber entirely. I stopped taking pain medication on day two, and by day three I was in minimal pain. Given my past experiences, I was honestly so shocked that I scheduled a follow-up office visit just to make sure nothing had gone wrong because I *wasn't* in pain anymore. How oxymoronic is that? Dr. Lucca's precision that I could observe during my surgery (this was a local anesthesia surgery), his reassuring explanations, him answering my innumerable questions, and his calm demeanor completely changed what I expected from oral surgery. He truly made me feel at ease, reassured, and relaxed. For the first time ever, in that I can remember, I walked away from a dental extraction surgery experience feeling genuinely cared for instead of traumatized. That says everything. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the front office staff as well -- Raquel, Courtney, Bossie, and Hailee were all incredibly professional, caring, calming, and kind. I came into this office in intense pain with anxiety levels soaring higher than a kite, and every single person made me feel genuinely seen, heard, validated my feelings and pain, and made me feel cared for. That matters more than people realize, especially when you are facing oral surgery and already terrified. I am also seriously impressed by the office's technology and communication systems. You can text the office instead of calling, and they respond incredibly quickly, often within 15-30 minutes. As someone who dreads phone calls, that alone was amazing. I am never calling them again, it's only going to be all texts. Like how easy and amazing is that!!! I think all doctors' offices should employ this technology. It should become the standard in how we communicate with doctors instead of phone calls. Dr. Lucca's Oral Surgical practice truly has it all: an extraordinarily skilled surgeon (Dr. Lucca) paired with an exceptional support team. The follow-up care, attention to detail, compassion, professionalism, and surgical skill are simply unmatched. If you have dental anxiety, need an oral surgeon, or want meticulous, compassionate care from beginning to end, I cannot recommend Dr. Lucca and this practice highly enough. I genuinely do not have enough words to express how grateful and impressed I am. Thank you so much, Dr. Lucca (and Racquel, Hailee, Bossie, and Courtney!).

The consultation was billed to my dental insurance and I received a reimbursement (without the co-payment amount). Next I had to get a procedure. I was told the same thing. First I pay upfront, then they bill my health insurance, which will reimburse me. Yes, they may have said they are out of network but they did not tell me to call my insurance first to approve the procedure. When time past by and I did not get the reimbursement I checked with my health insurance and the claim was denied because it was not pre-aproved. Shouldn't they have told me I should call my insurance ahead of the procedure? Don't they deal with insurance providers all the time and should know of the steps? Or were they concerned the claim was going to be rejected and they did not want my business to go somewhere else where it was covered? Hum.... They make you sign a lot of legal papers that they say explains everything. By the way, after the procedure the doctor did not fix my problem and told me I could go see another doctor.

I felt every single pull, drill, and needle during the 1.5 hours it took him to extract my tooth. Before starting, he told me the procedure could take 5, 10, or 20 minutes and asked if I thought I could handle it because I told him how nervous I was. Instead, it turned into the most traumatic dental experience of my life. He numbed my tongue more than my gum or cheek, and he jammed the needle so hard into the back of my cheek that I jumped and cried out in pain. This was hands down the worst pain I have ever experienced -- and I have given birth four times. It honestly felt like something out of a horror movie. Instead of showing compassion, he blamed me for moving due to the pain and repeatedly snapped at me throughout the procedure. I asked him three separate times to stop because the pain was unbearable, and his response was, "If we keep stopping, this will take all day." Each pause was only about 10 seconds so I could breathe and try to compose myself. When he was clearly struggling to remove the tooth, he started blaming the size of my tooth root. At one point, when I said I couldn't breathe, he snapped back, "Well, yeah you can, because you're doing it right now." I was emotionally and physically wrecked afterward. Because the extraction was so prolonged and traumatic, I ended up developing dry socket and had to return twice more for treatment. Jen and Jen were absolutely fantastic and incredibly kind throughout all of this. To make matters worse, he left a piece of tooth in my gum that is now trying to work its way out. I'm currently living with that pain because this experience has left me absolutely petrified of going back to a dentist.

I had an implant in 2020 and it looked great at first until I eneded up with an abcess. Dr Chua did the implant, Dr Dowd did a surgery to clean up under the gum tissue of the implant. The problem was due to leaving cotton in the implant core, which led to the abcess. Dr.Dowd tried to resolve the issue, but never did a bone graft during the second surgery. It left my gum bruised looking and food could enter up underneath the gum tissue. I returned once again for help and Dr. Morgan denied cotton had been left, which makes no sense because his colleague did a surgery due to this problem?? He was rude and pulled periodontal floss under the gum causing it to bleed. I'm on blood thinners and have had two open heart surgeries! I just went to another oral surgeon who said there was substantial bone and gum tissue lost costing me another surgery and time off from work. Hopefully, it works or I will need another implant thanks to their negligence.

I would like to compliment and recommend Dr. Claris Chuah and her staff at Concord and Lexington…read moreOral Surgery Associates for their excellent care in extracting two of my teeth on January 17th, 2024. The office staff and dental associates were very welcoming, professional and caring. Dr. Chuah and Jill, her friendly dental associate, went out of their way to explain the procedure each step of the way and solicit questions. Once my surgery was underway, they were very good about checking in with me to confirm that I was doing okay. Even when Dr. Chuah encountered an unexpected challenge involving a wisdom tooth adjacent to my troublesome molar, she made me feel very much at ease by explaining what had occurred, how she was going to deal with it and then expertly addressing the issue in a most satisfactory way. Specifically, she ended up extracting both my impacted molar and wisdom tooth while maintaining my comfort throughout the procedure. Following my surgery, Dr. Chuah was very helpful in explaining what I needed to do in terms of follow-up and in answering a few questions that I had. Further, I was most impressed that, on the day following my surgery, Dr. Chuah called me herself, just to confirm that I was making a good recovery. In addition to being an excellent surgeon, Dr. Chuah clearly understands just how important clear and frequent communication is in facilitating a good patient experience. This is especially so with respect to oral surgery, which is an inherently stressful and uncertain procedure for most patients. If you need oral surgery, I would strongly encourage you to consider choosing Dr. Chuah and her team. Finally, I am most grateful to be living in an age and place where skilled doctors have the knowledge and resources to remedy so many of our medical problems. What George Washington would have given if he could have traveled through time and had Dr. Chuah address his many debilitating dental woes! Jay L.
