Eight years later and we're still seeing Dr. Esbah. She's still great. My son recently had to have a couple of baby teeth pulled, and he also had an extra tooth growing where it didn't belong. She was so gentle with him; he wasn't even concerned, he was talking and jolly while she was gently giving him tiny shots of novocaine and making sure he felt no discomfort (and he's usually an anxious kid). I got woozy watching and had to sit down, but he was totally fine! I also had another cavity filled not long ago and again, I had no pain and it was taken care of quickly. She's watching another tooth, but so far hasn't recommended a filling; she only treats what is absolutely necessary. She's honest, compassionate, and just a really great dentist. read more

Everything about my experience was awful. I was told to come in and I switched all my plans around just to be told they couldn't help me that day when I got in. I was charged $700 for a service I was charged $20 somewhere else. Dr. Esbah brought up how much money I had to spend yearly with my insurance several times. So she wanted to spend that money even if it wasn't stuff I needed. After a procedure I was in pain for 6 months. Everything about my experience here was awful. I do not recommend. read more

My kids have been seeing Dr. Esbah since they were 5 and now 11 years later, we are still with her! She has a very kind and gentle manner about her and I absolutely appreciate the way she calmly and patiently answers all of my kids' questions. Dr. Esbah has always explained what she was going to do before doing it so they always know what to expect. She has always given them choices and they actually look forward to seeing her twice a year! Saturday appointments are so convenient for us and I'm grateful that they are offered during the school year! They use Zoc Doc for sending reminders of appointments via email and text. Great location on Mill Street with plenty of parking. I cant speak more highly of Dr. Esbah and her team! read more

I am 56 and she is my favorite dentist from my entire life!!! She is kind and personable and exceedingly informative!!! She even does the cleanings herself. One thing that's important to me is that she's not pushy about x-rays. Specifics of what I really appreciated besides above: she gave me pointers on how to brush my teeth; when I admitted some less-than-ideal practices she wasn't judgmental but instead was encouraging; she saw a mole on my face and inquired as to whether I had it checked recently... she certainly did not have to do that; she pointed out that I had extra bones in my mouth and no other dentist had ever done that; she actually made a gesture of a hug at the end of the appointment; at every opportunity she educated me, and in the most palatable way. I could go on further!!! I travel from Woburn to Arlington to see her because she is worth it. I cannot imagine ever choosing to see someone besides her... read more

Found Dr. Esbah when I moved to Arlington through Yelp. Have been very happy with her service so far other than one visit. Dr. Esbah herself has been great as well as the other Dr. in the office. I have only had cleanings and X-rays but each visit has been very pleasant. They are as gentle as can be around the gums and won't cut you up like some other offices. I strongly recommend going during the week where you will most likely end up with Dr. Esbah and a quiet office. This is where the office gets 5 stars. One year ago I went on a Saturday and the office was busy and noisy (which is ok with me). The thing that knocks off a star is the part time rent-a-hygienist they had give me a cleaning on a Saturday. The person was not good, cut me up a bit and seemed nervous or inexperienced. I have not been back on a Saturday since and have had 5 star service since. I am not sure if this hygienist was brought in because of extra volume on the particular day but I would rather not risk it again. read more

This was my first visit and last visit to the Arlington Dental Group and Dr. Fariba. I was quite shocked at the treatment after reading the glowing reviews online. I went for a routine 6-month clean-up and annual x-rays. Dr. Fariba herself did my cleaning. My experience was so unpleasant I wish I had gone with my gut and left before she even started the cleaning. If it had been a date I would have left them at the bar; no hesitation. The cleaning was extremely ROUGH and HARSH -- Dr. Fariba even asked if it hurt -- yes, yes it did but it's hard to talk when you have instruments in your mouth. Additionally instead of the traditional take a mouthful of water, swish and spit out, she used the spray water to rinse out my mouth with a suction hose and I was sprayed in the face the entire time she used those instruments; it was assaulting even though it was just water. No one likes being sprayed in the face. read more

Due to problems with insurance, I hadn't been to a dentist in nine years. I was scared out of my mind going in - thinking I had handfuls of cavities and at least five root canals. Dr. Esbah told me not to be nervous, and to a person with anxiety, you could be talking to a wall for that matter. She started my cleaning and I was blown away by how little it hurt. Dr. Esbah is an insanely gentle dentist, it was my nine year dentist free mouth that was giving problems. During the cleaning, she checked in often with me, as she was deeply concerned with how I was feeling. At the end of that visit, I had three cavities that needed filling. A week later, at the filling appointment, again, scared beyond my wits. I had had cavities filled before, but I was a child and didn't remember what to expect. She sent a couple minutes talking with me to try to calm me down - I was literally shaking. She applied a topical numbing agent and then administered the Novocaine shots - I didn't feel a thing! My bottom jaw was a bit of a problem, as I had received several shots and it was not numbing like it should have. Dr. Eshbah then worked on the top cavities while we waited. Needing more Novocaine to the bottom jaw still, she was patient and waiting for the numbing to set in before drilling. The procedure was painless and I was so impressed. I've found my forever dentist. I'm so pleased with how gentle and caring Dr. Esbah is and I highly suggest you schedule your next appointment with her. read more

We have had outstanding experience with Dr. Esbah. Not only she is a thorough, knowledgeable, experienced and competent dentist she also provides excellent patient care. The rest of the personnel working in the office are very efficient and thorough. We have never had to wait for a long period to be seen. The team always greets patients warmly providing a welcoming environment. In the emergency cases Dr. Esbah often accepts her patients for a quick check up in between the daily appointments. I felt the need to write after reading the review from May 2012. I went to Dr. Fariba for the first time in April and she was easily the most gentle, patient, kind dentist I have ever visited. I do not take novocaine ever, and she was very concerned that I would feel pain almost talking me into it. I had 2 HUGE old fillings replaced and I decided to go without numbing. It was the best experience I have ever had and her follow-up and communication was above and beyond the call of duty. She was fair and reasonable on the billing as well. I am delighted with her services and will be back in 6 months. read more

I had been seeing a dentist elsewhere for several years. He was the kind of dentist that would not stop talking to you, making stupid, fake conversation, all while your mouth was numbed and crammed with dental instruments. His condescending attitude didn't help matters either. I had a rear tooth that had a sizable part of it chipped off while I was eating something. He rebuilt the tooth and sent me on my way. The problem was, it kept breaking off every three months or so, requiring another visit, and another bill. Finally, I decided to go somewhere else. I chose Dr. Esbah out of convenience to my new home. Night and day, folks. She reconstructed the bad tooth two years ago, and it hasn't broke off since. Not only that, she has a very pleasant, courteous, professional demeanor. She doesn't yap away at you, and even if she did, she is so nice, I don't think I would mind. Her office seems to focus on children, so be prepared for lots of toys and coloring books in the waiting room, and kid's drawings on the walls. Despite the pre-school look of the office, and the old looking dental equipment (chairs in particular), it does not matter in the slightest. Because Dr. Esbah, in my opinion is, THE BEST. I'm lucky I found her, and can only encourage others to do the same. read more

I've been going to Dr. Fariba's practice for the last 3 years (every 6 months for my teeth cleaning). And I am still a huge fan! She is a wonderful individual. Of course, there isn't really too much talking when I go to my appointments, what with my mouth pried open 90% of the time, its really difficult to talk. But between the scrapes and the squirts, I've managed to chit chat here and there, and noticed she has a great sense of humor! But aside from her great personality, she is an excellent dentist and care very much for her patients. I highly recommend her to anybody reading this post. read more

One of the worst dental experiences I've ever had. I went in to have a cleaning & to get a filling fixed that had broken. It was one of the most painful experiences I've ever had at a dentist - it took several shots of Novocain to even slightly numb my mouth, she did not wait long enough to start drilling and I was on the verge of tears for most of the repair. She was not particularly gental with the needle either. She must have struck a nerve in my jaw too, because for about two weeks after my jaw was in severe pain and I could not sleep on that side of my face. They were not particularly up front about how much it would cost me either, telling me that my insurance covers 80% and that they expected me to only have to pay $50. After paying my $50 + my $50 deductible at the office, I get a bill about a month later for an additional $107 that my insurance apparently didn't cover. Shady. read more

Maybe she was having an off day. But very unpersonable and very cold and I was on-time and brought all my old records! Called me by a different name twice and didn't seem interested in what she was doing. As for the actual dental work the cleaning was done in record time (not a good thing in my mind). I visited Dr. Esbah twice. My experience with her was terrible - especially my second visit. Although I had an appointment, during the filling procedure, she kept leaving the room to check on her other customers. It was very unprofessional, her work was also not great as she was going in and out frequently between a few patients during the filling procedure. read more

If there was a way to leave this review using a negative scale I would. I had a tooth emergency and when I called to see if I could come in the answer was 'in five days'. As a business woman myself I understand the value of a customer and a reputable, reliable dentist would have not made me wait five days for the appointment BUT since Esbah was my dentist I did wait (in horrible pain) the five days for my appointment. Today was my appointment. As I am sitting in the waiting room (not once was my entrance acknowledged!) Dr. Fariba and her secretary were very busy speaking with a dental rep. Ten minutes into 'my appointment' and both ladies leave the front desk..... Twenty minutes later I was seated in the oppertory with Esbah working on another patient with one other waiting..... Thirty minutes later I decided it was time to go. This isn't the type of professional that I am looking for and unless you have the day to spend waiting I suggest that you look elsewhere as well. The good news is that I was able to reschedule with ANOTHER dentist who was able to take me (a new client) on an emergency basis within 24 hours. Today I took my 3 year old daughter to Dr. Esbah's office and it was her first time seeing a dentist. She was petrified to be in the Dentist's office. Dr. Esbah worked extremely well with my daughter and miraculously calmed her down and examined and cleaned my daughter's teeth. i was very impressed with her as well as her staff who were very sweet and I felt that overall this dental office radiated a comforting environment. I would highly recommend this office to anyone specially to parents because I was very satisfied with the way they treated my child who is the most precious to me. read more

Dr, Esbah was recommended by my (outstanding) endodontist to emplace a crown after a root canal. Over the phone I was quoted $1200-1400. But after the visit, I was told it would be $1750, because there was also a filling. Well, of course there was a filling! I had just had a root canal! During the procedure, a lot of water (laden with tooth dust) from the little cleaning sprayer splashed in my eyes. I also was not given a bib to keep junk off my shirt. Discussing this after, she said they have glasses for people who request them. OK, so why didn't she ask my preference ("Do you prefer tooth-dust water in your eyes, or not?") before? The temporary crown was too high, and exceedingly uncomfortable at night when (like a lot of people) I clench my teeth. She did grind it down for free and replace it -- but the replacement fell off after two days. And this is a small thing, but I asked her five (!) times not to lay the squirter hose across my chest before she stopped doing it. Or did she stop because the procedure was over? I discussed all these issues with Dr. Esbah, but was not impressed with the response. Another dentist will finish my crown. read more

I have been Dr. Esbah's patient since 2007. She has removed a wisdom tooth, repaired a chipped tooth, given me a filling, and referred me to a very good nearby oral surgeon for a root canal. She also found the medical source of my anxiety issues when undergoing dental work, namely that I do not tolerate the epinephrine used with novocaine well at all, after my childhood dentist dismissed my heart palpitations as "all in my head". She is gentle, explains things well, and personable as well. She even won over my husband who hates going to the dentist. read more
