Also, if you see them you can just wave them down! My first and favorite driver was Angela. She was so nice and professional. She was so pleasant, explaining the service (since it was my first ride) and represented the business so well that I gave them 5 stars! They run every day of the week from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Some places they go are: The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey Marina del Rey Marriott Hilton Garden Inn Los Angeles, Marina del Rey Cafe del Rey Whiskey Red's Fisherman's Village Waterside Washington Square/ Venice Pier Wish I knew about this sooner. I've been Ubering around but this is just as easy and free-but tips are welcome. It's such a great idea, I hope others use the service!

Forget all the stereotypes and awful things you've heard about California public transit. You hear of how little there is and how nasty they are. You hear that while people say California is a car culture state. While both those things are true the new LAX Metro Transit Center is a marvelous hub of public transportation. Built in mind to service the thousands of people who'll come in for the summer Olympics in 2028 this transport hub will remain long after the tourists leave and it'll become a central and integral part of public transport for Los Angelenos. Everything is shiny and clean. Large swathes of steel and glass give everything an open air feel. The security patrolling every 50 feet or so means the place feels secure and seen. The large shuttle docks makes for easy understanding of where the buses are going. And once the people mover or sky tram or whatever LAX will call it connects to this transit center going into LAX will become so convenient. No more fighting traffic to get in. Simply take a monorail over to each terminal. I've already used it several times to go to LAX without the sky tram and it was convenient. It'll only get better once that's implemented. Most Americans who've travelled abroad romanticize train stations and public transit, and rightfully so. When we lack something that feels so integral to public spaces it's hard not to yearn for it. But with LAX Metro Transit Center and the future lines connecting through it we can start romanizing our own lives here in California.

Not the best views or layout, they could use more benches, more signs and more machines. But glad it's there. If you need to get to the area, it beats driving!

It's frustrating but it must be done to get on the green line. Overall, this train is ok compared to the blue and red line. Warning, you will encounter all types of people that are crazy, deranged, violent, smelly, loud, strange, weird etc.. You name it. Overall, it's a solid line for commuting from Point A-B. It's safe pertaining to engineering and train conductors. The people inside determines your experience. Ride at your own risk. Once you are on the Green line, you can expect a 25 minute ride all the way to Norwalk. There is a point from Long Beach Blvd all the way to Lakewood where it has not stops and it is zooming right through. That would be a 5 mile consistent ride without interrupted stops. Overall the Green line is solid.

Maybe Cruel Summer by Bananarama was playing on my walkman, and/or some Fantasy by Mariah Carey... just maybe. This station still has easy parking (free) and connection access to local city Metro services, also smooth access for ride share. There isn't much directly next to Redondo Beach Station, but it's a very short commute to the Best Buys of my youth, Lawndale High where many old friends attended, local city parks, eateries, Manhattan Beach and a elevated dive bar I like, Artesia Bar. Stairs, escalator and elevator access available as this is an high above ground station, similar to Expo/Sepulveda Station, if you know it. TAP kiosk for balance, refill and purchasing of LA Metro Tap cards, though you can also download and use the TAP app with a digital card. It's the last stop on the K Line if traveling on the Pink train from Expo/Crenshaw, or the first if commuting. I'm not on this side of town or the MTA too often, but when I am, I definitely don't mind boarding or exiting at Redondo Beach Station.

We contemplated driving there but then realized that parking at the beach on July 4th, would be atrocious. So we remembered that the free Summer Beach Shuttle happens to have a stop on its route right in front of our home and right down the street from the Venice Beach Pier. Princess and I were very pleased with the shuttle service and shocked about how popular it was. Pro-tip: Make sure you shower and wash your clothes on a regular basis before you go on this small shuttle, for the sake of the other passengers forced to take in the ripe, sour smell of alley dumpsters.
