This is the Santa Monica line, we changed at 7th and Metro to get on it. It is above the ground, which is nice. The actual station is outdoors which is nice. Not the best views or layout, they could use more benches, more signs and more machines. But glad it's there. If you need to get to the area, it beats driving!

Very wheelchair accessible via elevator and they do have about 250 plus parking spots (paid) if you wish to drive over and take the E line. A ride one way is less than two dollars with up to 2 hrs of unlimited transfers in one direction... With gas being as much as $6 and up in some parts in LA it's definitely a nice alternative for work and/or play. If traveling with a friend, sig other, the fam or a group factor in gas and parking for you final destination and you're absolutely saving plus you get more of a scenic route for all. Forget all the stereotypes and awful things you've heard about California public transit. You hear of how little there is and how nasty they are. You hear that while people say California is a car culture state. While both those things are true the new LAX Metro Transit Center is a marvelous hub of public transportation. Built in mind to service the thousands of people who'll come in for the summer Olympics in 2028 this transport hub will remain long after the tourists leave and it'll become a central and integral part of public transport for Los Angelenos. Everything is shiny and clean. Large swathes of steel and glass give everything an open air feel. The security patrolling every 50 feet or so means the place feels secure and seen. The large shuttle docks makes for easy understanding of where the buses are going. And once the people mover or sky tram or whatever LAX will call it connects to this transit center going into LAX will become so convenient. No more fighting traffic to get in. Simply take a monorail over to each terminal. I've already used it several times to go to LAX without the sky tram and it was convenient. It'll only get better once that's implemented. Most Americans who've travelled abroad romanticize train stations and public transit, and rightfully so. When we lack something that feels so integral to public spaces it's hard not to yearn for it. But with LAX Metro Transit Center and the future lines connecting through it we can start romanizing our own lives here in California.

It's a small transfer station to catch the Big Blue Bus R12 towards Westwood and the UCLA campus. The station looks like any surface station, you can use your TAP card and pay your fare at the scanning machine. Then you walk onto the platform and wait for your train. The E Train runs often, with a train coming through about every 10-15 minutes during daytime hours. The estimate to get to and from this station after a transfer from L.A. Union Station is about 1 hour. To get to the Big Blue Bus bus stop, just walk past the tracks, cross the street at the light, and you can catch the bus there. A conveinent station for desinations to Westwood.

There's plenty of free designated Metro parking on weekends, which was a nice surprise. Just stay aware of your surroundings and try to ride in a car with other passengers -- I chose the one right behind the train operator, and it felt safe and comfortable. The ride to BMO Stadium took about 24 minutes, and the walk from the station was around 10 minutes. Take the path through the Rose Garden, pass the Natural History Museum and Memorial Coliseum -- BMO is just behind the California Science Center. I'd definitely take the train again from the Westside. The E (Expo) Line is a straight shot to BMO -- super easy and convenient. On the way back, there were plenty of other riders, so it still felt safe. If you don't already have a TAP card, you'll need to buy one from the machine before boarding. The fare is $1.75 each way, so expect to pay around $5.50 total including the card.
