This review is based solely on a selection of desserts that a guest brought to my home when visiting for dinner. The items she brought included ekmek cake, portokalopita, and spiced walnut cookies. All of them were beautifully produced, super tasty, and authentic. Ekmek cake or kataifi is syrup soaked pastry topped with custard and whipped cream. It's light and delicious, and came packed in a nice container that kept it neat, fresh and intact. This was my favourite. If you like tiramisu, this is sort of a differently flavoured but similarly textured treat. Portokalopita is orange cake. It is also soaked in syrup. The texture is hard to describe, not a fine crumb that stands up well to the syrup. The orange flavour really shone, tasting like fresh oranges. Also pretty with the edible candied slice on top. The spiced walnut cookies were super tasty. The amount of spice is evident from the dark colour of the cookies, more than I often see with homemade. I've had many of these over the years and these ones were right at the top. The texture was really soft and moist. This is why you sometimes buy from a pastry shop instead of making them at home. These were perfect. Having once been married to a Greek, I can vouch for the authentic taste of Agora's offerings. I would totally order from here if I needed authentic Greek fare. read more

It's pricey, but it's usually pretty good. But a few nights ago, it was a miss; the roasted potatoes were barely roasted at all, and the meat in the beef wrap was a bit burned. I know it was an off night, though; I like their chicken wraps, dips, and even their chocolate chip Le Gourmand cookies (which are quite addictive). read more

Stopped in on my way home for a chicken souvlaki wrap for takeout. It's a small spot, but they have nice patio seating out front for anyone looking to sit and eat. I just got the wrap and I think it came out to about $18 after tax which is a bit steep because it's just the wrap, no side. It was good, but really nothing special. I ended up adding some hot sauce at home. I'm in no rush to go back but am glad I tried it. read more

I've been meaning to try this spot for a while, especially since I love mamakas and Koukla. But this place really disappointed me. The food didn't feel fresh and even the dishes they warmed up weren't warm all the way through. The beet salad had a lot of mustard seeds in it and it had a very overpowering taste. The gyro was made using old pita. It was a very disappointing meal overall and you're better off going to other whole in the wall gyro places. However, they did have a lot of great looking desserts that I would try. Hoping second times a charm. read more

Got takeout here and it's pretty good. The potato wedges are cooked very nicely and seasoned well. The ingredients are fresh and the chicken was cooked pretty well. A bit pricey but quality is good and the packaging is good as well. read more

Pretty average chicken souvlaki, good location since it's right across from trinity bellwoods. Fairly quick service, but expensive for what you're getting. Very small location with 4-5 indoor metal barstools no back, and 3/4 outdoor tables. Overall nice ambiance with good music pumping and imported Greek goods all around! read more

I really really wanted to give a higher rating and maybe I will when I try more items...but it's a 3 for now. When I first heard this place was opening I had to get there as soon as I could! New Greek bakery?! I'm there! I may not be Greek but I know good Greek food. My boyfriend is Greek and I've been to Greece 3 times in the past 5 years. So I know a thing or two. I was so excited to try the bougatsa because it's my fave Greek pastry. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with Agora's version. For some reason, perhaps for innovative reasons? They use rose water in their bougatsa. Whyyyyy?? I literally could not finish it because it tasted like face products. Ladies (and gents), you know Mario Badescu's rose water toner? YES. It tastes exactly like that. The taste is so strong, it was nothing like a traditional bougatsa. Don't get me wrong, others might like this. Like maybe those that like rose flavoured macarons. However, I like my bougatsa traditional. I do have to say that the phyllo pastry was so buttery and melt in your mouth. It was so fresh tasting but then I would have the after taste of the rose water and all those buttery dreams would disappear. I had a bite of the baklava and it was pretty decent. I couldn't eat more than a bite cuz I was stuffed but it was hella honey soaked. Which leads me to my next issue. They defs need to get some plastic boxes or any box so they can package the baklava better. It was so soaked in honey that a pile of honey was building up at the bottom of the bag. You can see how this is an issue. It's sticky and wet and hard to deal with. Perhaps something to think about. I didn't have any of the koulouri but my boyfriend and his brother did. It's his brother's fave and I can't tell you how many times he picks one up from the street vendors when we are in Greece. I asked them how they were and if it was comparable. They said these were a bit softer and they preferred it more crunchy like the ones the street vendors sell. I can see how these are more softer as they're fresher. That was all I got for this trip but I hope to try more of their "hot foods" next time. Specifically the moussaka and tiropita. Oh and the loukoumades! So yes, there will be a next time! read more

Amazing new addition to the Queen West, Trinity Bellwoods strip, and my new go-to for great Greek fare in the area. This is a tastefully done "market & kafe" with all your favourite Greek treats. What it isn't is a souvlaki shop. No meats here, from what I could tell. I had the spinach spanakopita and the Greek salad. Both were great. The flaky, buttery layers of dough crumble under your top fingers as you lift the spanakopita, but the bottom stays dense in a deeply satisfying way. Unlike some spanakopitas they use salt sparingly. The feta does the work here, alongside the spinach. The salad contrasted with this nicely - fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, feta, oregano, and a tapenade made it a Greek salad as good as any I've had in great Greek restaurants. The olive oil based dressing is served on the side. I skipped it, as the spanakopita did the trick. I also got to try their dips at the register, served with a sort of sesame bagel which I assume is also Greek. The dips were phenomenal. My favourite was the (get ready for it) Melizanosalata, a eggplant based dip with honey and walnut. Really enjoyed discovering this place. Will definitely be back. read more

Okay, so. You are going to read this review and think "Pfft, the owner totally wrote this." It's not the case. I happen to live in the neighbourhood and was looking for somewhere to have a coffee this morning and stumbled across this gem. It is hard to overstate my excitement about the opening of this place. FINALLY. REAL (affordable) GREEK FOOD IN TORONTO!!!! (No offence, Greek & Co, but your food is overpriced and not that great and apparently you treat your workers like shit, so, yeah, no.) Apparently this place is run by the same people who own Mamakas, the delicious but pricey and always-jammed Greek restaurant on Ossington. I was super excited when it opened because it meant decent, authentic Greek food, but most of the time I can't even get a reservation and when I do it means dropping like a hundred bucks for dinner. This, on the other hand, is totally affordable, REAL Greek food. Not Danforth mystery meat and fries in pita bread. Not dried out, flavourless, chicken-on-a-stick, or $18 "souvlaki dinners" that are mostly potatoes and rice. We are talking fresh, flavoursome, healthy, vegetable-heavy, DELICIOUS Greek food. I'm talking about briam (eggplant tomato stew), topped off with creamy salty feta. Incredible taramasalata (cod roe) dip, whipped to light, salty, tangy perfection (with only five ingredients! For only seven bucks for a huge tub!). REAL melizanosalata (roasted eggplant dip)--not that mayonnaise-based crap you get at Loblaws. And a red pepper and feta dip to die for. Lots of other deli items to go--olives, tomato sauce, octopus salad, etc etc. Everything is made in house, including the pillowy pita bread. (I love the previous reviewer's description--"your own clouds in a bag." Perfect!) They also have wifi and great coffee, and some seating. But it's mostly a takeout joint. My new #1 favourite for Trinity-Bellwoods picnics. I foresee a loooooot of Greek food in my future. This is going to be my Big Fat Greek Summer! read more

Place was ridiculously good. Went with my aunt and sister and was absolutely blown away. The customer service was exceptional helping us order. We ended up getting the beet salad, the chicken wrap, and the beef lamb kebab. All the food was delicious, especially the beet salad, some of the best beets. Overall great meal, can't recommend enough. read more

Really great spot for fast but quality Greek food. I love the prasopita which has leeks and onions in it. The homemade phyllo is crazy good, it stayed crispy after a 30-minute walk. The last time I visited, I also got a tsoureki which is a bun filled with feta and topped with feta and honey. It was really delicious and something I'd never had before. The bakery items are seasonal and vary but I think anything that catches your eye will be delicious. The salads looked so good though I've yet to try them. Slightly overpriced for what you get, but what you get IS good. Just a small box with salad and souvlaki is $12. Really wish it was able to come with rice or potatoes as well. They also won't do half and half for variety. However it is freshly made, and good flavours. read more

Grabbed a spanakopita as we walked by on our zip through West Queen West. Excellent! The phyllo was crispy and the filling was spinach-y and flavorful without being too salty. I feel like I should have gotten a baklava to go with...too bad. read more

Worth the delivery hassle! Wow, this food was out of this world flavourful! But I've had it up to here with delivery apps and the outrageous prices they charge, most of which doesn't even go to the driver/rider! I had my order through foodora cancelled, because an item was unavailable. Tried to call several times, but no answer. Passed some time troubleshooting with foodora tech support. Thought about trying with doordash (because they let you put a note to the restaurant on your order) but they had a service charge of $8+ AND a delivery fee, and then there's the tip. No way. Anyway, I put in the exact same order a little later and it arrived quickly. Chicken souvlaki plate was wonderful. The pitas are chewy and delicious perfectly grilled and seasoned. Chicken is succulent and potatoes are tangy with lemon. I also got two dips - Tzatziki and a smoked eggplant dip. Man. I feel like I need to know how to make food like this! It was absolutely the tastiest Greek food I've had in Toronto. Probably the best tzatziki I've ever had, period. Sorry to start with a big rant about the delivery hassle, but even despite that annoyance, it was the best meal I've had in a while. Made me very happy and warmed my heart. You call this authentic Greek Food...absolutely the worst of it's kind from this shit box. Shame on you for being an entrepreneur and a Greek! Overall, the food was not well-cooked, the product presentation was horrible and small package portions that were way too expensive. And don't get me started with the counter attendant and cashier who was working this evening. I don't know if she is the owner of this establishment, however her personality was "DRY LIKE TOAST", just like her face, eyebrows painted like a clown and absolutely no customer service skills whatsoever! Considering you want to lady boss, start making authentic Greek Food with FLAVOUR and ZEST. When I was waiting order, she was speaking to another co-worker in Greek regarding a customer's order and replied with this sarcastic comment: "Customer was a complete idiot for spending the amount of money he did for dinner this evening!" I am well-versed in the Greek language and understood well how she treated the customer in front of me this evening. Clearly, this cumquat is not in it for the customers but only for the profits. Wake up Torontonians, do not spend ur hard earned money on this dumpster dive. On a final note, store ambiance needs decor improvements. It reminds me of a small village somewhere in Macedonia! So delicious - we got some tzatziki, prepared chicken breast, freshly made pita, potato salad, cucumber and tomato Greek salad, spanokopita and baklava. I'm going to eat the spanokopita tomorrow for lunch so I can't comment on that yet, but everything else was fantastic. Simply made and wonderful tzatziki, refreshing and creamy. The tzatziki has a lovely more dense texture than other tzatziki's I've tried because it uses pressed yogurt. The chicken breast was so flavorful and moist, really excellently made. The pita is light and fluffy, feels like you have your own delicious clouds in a bag. Potato salad was creamy and delicious as well, has capers in it that give flavor and a bit of crunch. The TOMATOES in hat SALAD were HEAVEN! The BEST tomatoes I've had in a long time, good crumbly feta - so fresh. Baklava packed with flavor, normally I'm not a fan of this often too sweet dessert but they've done something to it to make it not so sickly sweet and more of a flavorful experience rather than loads of sugar in pastry. Well done to the team who is making this place a Mediterranean dream. Will be coming back to try lotsssss of tasty things I had my eye on. read more

Good food but service leaves a lot to be desired. Every time I come in here it's a frustrating experience. They're never very busy but don't seem to know how to multitask at all. Usually I stand there waiting for someone to acknowledge me at all just to say they'll be with me soon. I find a lot of the staff have attitudes and just don't make you want to come back. read more
