    Grandma pie

I love the grandma pie, I wish they sold this in slices. The caesar salad was also pretty good. I can't wait to come back here with friends.

When my boyfriend and I tried to go to Tops Diner and learned of the two hour wait, we came across Ah' Pizz. We did street parking about 10 minutes away since there wasn't nearby parking available. At around 9 pm on a Saturday, the restaurant was pretty empty and we were seated immediately. We were presented with menus on ipads which was pretty cool and we ordered a grandma pizza to share. The pizza took forever to come despite us being one of three parties in the restaurant at the time. When it finally came about 40 minutes after ordering, we found that it was just alright. The pizza wasn't as thick as other grandma pizzas we've seen, but other than that it was fine, but not worth the wait. We also saw a spider on the table next to us which was slightly disturbing. Overall, we didn't have an amazing time at Ah' Pizz, but it seems that you should be able to get seated without a wait, which is nice.

On of the house specials.. personally not my favorite.

This was not a bad experience, I want to qualify with that. The service was excellent, the decor is great, modern and very clean. My issues were with the food. I'll say that ingredients were very fresh and high end which is a plus, but the brick oven pizza I had just wasn't it. Crust was soggy from all the toppings being just piled on and the cheese while melted, I don't think had been cooked long enough. I can totally see how others might rate this very high. I'm just not a "eat pizza with a fork" kind of guy and it's required here. It's also pretty loud. Even on a relatively quiet night (less than half full) with concrete floors, no table clothes and a very open venue everything just echoed. I can see how having drinks with friends here would be great. If there was a 3.5 I'd lean that way. Just wasn't for me. I'd encourage others to try this place though. Certainly has its high points, just wasn't for me.

Not sure why the reviews are mediocre, bordering on bad here.... Despite them, I came in for dinner on a Thursday evening anyway. They had trivia night while I was there and the place was moderately busy. Since I was dining alone, I sat at the bar and the lady who helped me was very friendly and helpful. She was quite busy, but that didn't really affect my service. I liked watching the pizza makers make pizzas. This place has two style of pizza; Neapolitan and NY style and they have two ovens to match those styles. Since they offered Neapolitan, I opted for that and asked for the crust to be slightly burnt... I love that flamed char on the pizza crust! I tried the Mezzaluna pizza which is two things in one; a calzone and a pizza. It was very very good! The dough was amazing, especially with that charred edge! The sauce was excellent and so was the cheese! Definitely will return as all the pizzas and food I saw being served looked great too!

Ordered delivery from the restaurant so I can't speak about the in person dining experience. The food was prepared and delivered in a timely manner and there were no issues with the order. The Grandma pizza was good but a little on the greasier side and I didn't taste much garlic. The pepperoni pizza was pretty standard and nothing special. Was not a huge fan of the buffalo wings as they ended up being very soggy and soft. The garlic knots could've had more garlic butter as well and marinara sauce that came with it was pretty oily.

    Don't recommend.

Come here if you want burnt pizza. I've been here plenty of times and it seems to be hit or miss. Try your luck.

    A delicious margherita pizza!

First night in Newark and we found this place online that would use Uber Eats to deliver to our hotel. We ordered the Margherita pizza and fries. The pizza was delicious! The crust was thin and crispy, with a bubbly edge. The sauce was delicious and the cheese was amazing! It was delivered within 30 minutes! It was awesome!!

Staying overnight in nearby Westin Elements Hotel for mtg next day. Stopped in for take-out. Ordered a chicken scallopini francese with pasta (lg rigatoni) and a plain insalata.. First time I have had scallopini with zero capers or pimentos and no sauce. Kitchen did not drain the pasta, so the chicken and noodles was sitting in a pool of water with no sauce - extremely disappointing. I should have realized this would be a problem when I opened the take-out container and the water spilled all over the table. Insalata was fine. I should have stayed with a pizza take-out choice. Next time - different restaurant.

    Peroni draft

They have several locations and this review is for the Harrison one. Our server right from the start was super attentive and friendly so hands off to that! We started with glasses of water and one Peroni draft and a strawberry cocktail. The Perobi draft arrived with no head on it so tasted quite flat. The cocktail had a whole massive piece of strawberry inside of the glass instead of cutting it properly and placing it on the outer rim as a garnish so points off of presentation for that. We ordered the cheesesteak rolls as an appetizer, but it only arrived after we were done eating both of our pizza pies as our mains. We reminded the server of our order of cheesesteak rolls and when she checked in the kitchen she mentioned that since they were very popular they had to make them from scratch. Cheesesteak rolls were quite tasty and crunchy, and the sweet and sour sauce was fantastic. Could go without the butter sauce on the side but at least one of the sauces was good. Out of both pies, the salsiccia was definitely the better option. Toppings were fresh but the dough itself needed a bit of flavor. I would say the same about the capricciosa. As for the churros.. they were crunchy and tasty and had a cinnamon sprinkle over them. I would prefer a fresh, warm chocolate sauce but instead it came with Nutella on the side. I had just finished a marathon so was able to finish everything but not my favorite pizza spot in the area for sure.

    Grandma's pie

This time, in addition to the Grandma's pie, we tried the margarita. It was very tasty with a slightly sweet sauce and fresh mozzarella. The only thing missing was basil! The rigatoni alla vodka was also really good. For dessert, their bread pudding is hands down the best I've ever had. It's not too eggy like some bread puddings can be and it melts in your mouth.

We throughly enjoyed eating here. Pretty cool atmosphere. They had a live singer, who was really good. Service was excellent. We started with the Long hot peppers stuffed with crumbled wood-fired sausage, porcini mushrooms, and mozzarella. Very tasty... only thing is they weren't stuffed. Everything was on top of the long hots. Would definitely order it again. Mozzarella carozza was only 2 small pieces but good otherwise. Light and airy. Minestrone soup had a nice flavor and was very hearty. Fig Pizza which had Fig jam, goat cheese, and prosciutto di parma drizzled with a balsamic glaze. Excellent!!! Delicious!! Nice crispy crust. Flavor explosion. Regular pie with sausage and onion. Was also very good. Nice bottle of wine to go with it. Will definitely go back!!

(I believe Nino's II existed for a quick moment up there in North Arlington but my memory ain't what it used to be.) After driving past (the original) Nino's on the way home from work for the last few months I realized I was overdue for a visit. First thing: from the outside it looks a bit weathered but inside? It's vibrant and lively and eased my initial concerns. (As soon as I walked in at the very first table was a little kid and his abuela. He made it a point to interact with me coming and leaving and that kid made my day... he's getting 5-stars for being awesome!) As for the pizza... it's a respectable "large" - they ain't skimping, which is a nice change of pace. (Hats off to the pizzaiolo because it wasn't a true/normal/expected circle but something closer to a Reuleaux triangle mixed with a squircle.) Geometry aside... the pie tasted good. Nothing flashy or fancy - just a legit (thin) pie. The (steak) fries were a bit bland and boring, I can't lie. And their cavatelli and broccoli was... decent. It would've benefited from a bit more 'pop' (salt, olive oil, garlic, you name it.) I haven't been here in eons and I hope they'll be around for another 40-something-years. Worth mentioning: it's one of the very few pizzerias to have a liquor license. (I'd definitely come back again for the not-so-perfectly-round pizza but would pass on the fries and pasta...)

The chef was at the station nearby whipping up the refills. So they did not run out of foods. The tables are situated around the Tier with ornate glass and exposed brick and floor to ceiling windows showcasing Newark and the ongoing construction and hustle and bustle around the city. The tables and chairs are quite comfortable and dining on good china, flatware and cloth napkins make the scene more romantic. All the staff were wonderful! They were courteous and helpful. But be ware check out cam get backed up if everyone rushes out at showtime as they only have one credit card /register. They should do something about that. We've dined here several times primarily due to convenience and to avoid the lack of street parking and questionable parking lots in the area. We always pre-purchase the NJPAC parking ticket when booking a show; this permits you to park in either the underground Military Park garage (across the street) or, the PAC lot adjacent to the Center, a better choice. Curiously, attendants at ground level always ask to see your tickets, even if dining upstairs at Tier 3. I've never asked if having show tickets was a prerequisite for entering Tier 3. (The "Greeters" also call upstairs to "announce" that your on your way.) The restaurant itself is quite dramatic, set within the curved sweep of architecture that the interior follows; glass and mirrors surround most of the tables; the setting reminds me of many airport restaurants we've spent some time in. Pros: Very convenient parking arrangements if seeing a show. A quick, safe, and easy walk up to the main doors of the NJPAC. We were always seated promptly. A server will take your drink order, soiled table settings are quickly removed, your tab is quickly presented to you when your ready to leave. There was never a line at the buffet nor at the coffee and desert table. In summary, a place to grab a hot meal without a long wait and still have time without rushing to your show since it's in the same building. Cons: Several of the (covered) buffet urns held a fair variety of freshly cooked entre's yet the food was not held at the proper (hot) temperature. Coffee and similar beverages were dispensed at the desert table. Yet again, their temperature was medium warm at best. Coffee cups and saucers had to be replenished when I approached the coffee table; although the manager was steps away, it was I that got his attention to re-supply the table with cups and saucers. Desert offerings consisted of miniature squares of "cake" and were not appealing. The price point for dinner is "expensive" and a poor value. The mixed salads are, by far, your best bet for quality; quite fresh and tasty and being cold and crisp was not a concern. Tier 3 Cafe is not our Go-To restaurant prior to seeing a show at NJPAC. Frankly, we now dine at a quaint Italian neighborhood bistro on Bloomfield Ave near 13th Street when going to the NJPAC. We park on the street across from the restaurant and enjoy good, home-made cooking at about half the price of Tier 3 Cafe and, we don't have to be announced to get a table, nor display any tickets.
