Came here on a Friday night. There's plenty of seating and LIVE Music. I also appreciate that they're open late. Drinks and Pizza were also good. We ordered the pesto pistachio and sausage, and the garlic and oil sautéed shrimp appetizer. The staff were also very attentive and I think the owner of manager was also there to greet us and make sure everything was in order. Definitely a customer service focused type of establishment, which I always appreciate. Although the crowd was a little small, this place is a gem in Harrison. Came here once for dinner. The good: Seating was quick (plenty of seats). Garlic bread was good. The so so: Calamari was basic and I had to ask for lemon(something that's usually standard) Service was not bad but waitress seemed indifferent Bad: The crab cake came with this weird nasty sauce that tasted like cleaning agent. The artichoke appetizer was horrible. The price was NYC price but nothing about it was NYC. Been here twice... FOOD: The pizza is above average but the other food selections are just average. I like the margarita pizza. I also had the panzanella salad on specials (definitely not freshly made but maybe chopped up the morning of - was dry and lettuce was wilted) and steak (asked for medium, was well done - my pet peeve, sorry if it sounds snobbish but I just think its cooking 101 to have the right temperature). SERVICE: Inconsistent. Some waitresses are nice and some lack luster. There is a problem with service staff being on their personal cell phones while at work! Big turn off! Came to Ah' Pizz for the first time today and absolutely loved it ! Got a salad for a starter, the grandma pie, and for dessert the pistachio fried ice cream with toasted coconut. What makes this place stand out from your average pizza spot is that you can tell the ingredients are fresh, everything was so delicious! The menu has a wide range of pizzas, pastas, salads, and desserts to choose from and the prices are really reasonable. Who ever is the bartender here let me tell you my friend that you know how to run a bar, excellent drinks I really appreciate when someone know how to do things with the proper measures and not just someone put in licor in.. however and unfortunately the kitchen is the weak thing here, 4 times and always our pizzas are served extra burned and poor of toppings, I mean it's a napoletana style pizza but really this not the way. Place used to be on the money food wise. Last two times there you wouldn't know it's the same place. When I say last two I had to go back a second time just to make sure it wasn't an off night. Nice setting with great atmosphere. Very accommodating amount of space that is extremely well lit. From both artificial and natural lightning. Makes it feel very bright and cheery inside. Staff are extremely efficient especially considering how large of place and amount of people they may be serving. Impressively clean to boot. For a pizza place there is a huge assortment of food. A wide variety that surely everyone can find something they enjoy to eat. I've always been impressed by the pizza, but I think most other dishes are mediocre. I love that they opened more options around here! I actually been here a couple times already. Last time I came was around 9pm on a Friday and it was crowded! We got lucky and were able to get one of the last tables left. They had some live music playing. We started with an order of Italian Nachos which were really good. It had tons of cheese and sausage with light fried pasta chips. They also added a bunch of long peppers which tasted slightly like shishito peppers but with a tiny amount of heat. We also got a pie of margharita pizza which was amazing. Their thin crust was thin and crispy with a good amount of cheese and sauce. All the pizzas came with basil on top as well. I also tried the Ah'Pizz pizza. It tasted fine but my problem was that the tomatoes on it made it soggy. Overall the experience was good. Service could be pretty slow when it gets busy. The chicken Milanese has no seasoning as you can see in the picture. The mash potato gross.... no seasoning as you can see. I was expecting a lot more of this place, but I wasn't satisfied with the food. Walking in on a Friday night, I was impressed by the decor and the atmosphere. They had an artist playing live music, which was super nice! As for the food, I ordered a Caprese Antipasti and the Mezza Luna pizza. The Caprese Antipasti was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. As for the Mezza Luna, I was highly disappointed :( I was expecting the pizza portion to be nice and toasty, but it was soggy. The sausage in the calzone part was dry and bland. I dined here a month ago for lunch with my boyfriend. We decided to sit outside, our server was Hailey. She sat us a table that was dirty and dusty we had to ask for someone to wipe it down. She was less than attentive we only saw her twice and it's was 45min to an hour in between. We did not have utensils so when our food came out we could not eat, not even plates. We did not feel welcomed. Of course we left a good tip, but not because we wanted to. Unfortunately, when you are of a certain ethnic group you feel compelled to, even if the service is terrible in order not to fit the social stigmas put against us. As a millennial and someone who has worked in several restaurants, I am incredibly forgiving of less than stellar service. However, as my mother and I took refuge in from winter storm Avery at Ah Pizz we had an incredibly disappointing and frustrating dining experience. We ordered a glass of Cabernet each and the zucchini flowers to share. My mother also ordered the roasted eggplant soup and I got the risotto with butternut squash and pancetta. Service: We waited for over 20 mins until our wine came, and it only came after our reminded our waitress that we had been waiting for a while. Then after that we waited an additional 30 minutes for our food. We had to ask her about it several times, only for her to ask, somewhat flippantly "oh, it's not here yet?." Again, as someone who has worked in a restaurant, I realize that the speed of the food coming is not within her control. However, servers should always be aware if a table is waiting much longer than average for their food. Food: The risotto was decent. It could have been a bit creamier and the pancetta was overcooked. The butternut squash was well done. The soap was meh. The zucchini flowers were grotesquely underwhelming. They were soggy, obviously not fresh from the fryer, and we paid 14 dollars for 3 flowers. Other things to note: We were one of the few non-White patrons. There was another table, seated midway through our meal, that was an entirely black party. By the time we left, their order had not been taken and they hadn't been served water. I felt throughout the meal that our server was almost deliberately not paying attention to us and she would only come over when I flagged her, never once of her own volition. She was very attentive and responsive to the other white patrons around the us. We have season tickets to the Red Bulls and usually like to have dinner somewhere within walking distance to the arena because I hate the food that is served there. This was our first time here and the food was excellent. Food came out pretty fast leaving us plenty of time to walk over to the arena. Bartenders are incredibly polite, attentive and always go out of their way to help patrons from one end of the bar to the other -- Justine and Jason are the best of the best, but everyone on staff is a gem in their own right. Food is spectacular, everything I could have hoped for and more. I requested a standard cocktail and I got an enthusiastic response of "You're in the right place!" I can't say I'll ever leave. Its probably the most fancy place in Harrison, However the food and service were a hit and miss. The Pizza were good, and we expect them to be if thats you main selling point. However the Calamari Balsamico and the Tricolore were too tangy and the Calamari too felt bit soggy. Also, we have to remind the waitress a couple of time to get the things we had requested earlier. Just minor things and not a big deal, But definitely could have improved our experience. For the prices you are paying you expect a certain level of service, and its slightly off putting when they are not met. Want to leave the readers on a good note. Their Pizzas are really good and so were the desserts. Ah' Pizz is a relatively new spot to the Harrison area. It's a gastropub meets pizzeria, and the result is high quality food with prices to match. The pizzas are thin crust, oven blasted at 900 degrees F. Not the place to come for a dollar slice - the personal pies were around $12-15. As good as the pizza was, the real selling point is the pasta. Sampled a couple of dishes - my fave was the penne vodka with prosciutto. De-lish. Good Italian food in Harrison neighborhood. Didn't care much for the Grandma Pizza but the White Pie w/ Red Onions, Mushrooms, and Peppers was delicious!!! Pizza's were thin with a perfect crust. Ravioli was good but had better. Rigatoni Alla Vodka with veggies instead of Prosciutto was delicious! Wasn't a big fan of being charged for substituting Veggies for prosciutto. If it was an additional topping then charging extra would have made sense. If you like your dishes more saucy then requesting some extra Vodka sauce helps. Service was good by our waitress. Located right by the train station, this place is perfect for lunch or a nice dinner. Very spacious so you can entertain a huge crowd. I went with a friend and we got the Montclair pizza, which is heaven on a plate ! It has truffle oil, mushroom, and tomatoes. It is very rich so best to share . The second plate we got was stuffed artichoke and it was really bland. We ended up not even eating it. I strongly encourage the owner to revamp the dish. Ordered 3 apps 1 was hotsy totsy shrimp. Only 5 shrimp and not very hot. I love hotsy totsy shrimp but some place give you like 50 small to med size shrimp and others give you 5 large. I prefer them hot and a lot more shrimp! These were good but not hot enough and not enough shrimp! Also got the meat and cheese plate. Can't really mess that up. It was good nothing special. I forget the 3rd app! Gnocchi was awesome but it comes in a pesto sauce. Not a fan of pesto so ask if you can get red or vodka sauce instead! Overall the food was good. The space is great and should become a lounge after 10. They had a 1 man band but that's not the crowd or age they should be catering too. Drinks were weak. I was excited to try this place out as it seemed to have a nice vibe to but I was pretty disappointed during my time here. We were seated in the back where they seem to forget about us. It took about 15 minutes for our waitress to even acknowledge us and ask if we wanted drinks. We ordered the Nutella martini and Apple Spritzer. The martini was very strong bhtFor appetizers we got mussels and garlic shrimp. The mussels were not the greatest as it seemed to be cooked separate from the sauce. It just looked like they dumped marinara sauce of cooked mussels. The garlic shrimp was at least enjoyable. For entrées we ordered the chicken cavatelli and the 8 inch pizza margherita We got the pizza first and waited 20 minutes for the 2nd entrée. Thankfully we were able to share the pizza cuz that wait was crazy! Especially since the table next to us was larger and seated afterwards but still got their food first. What's even crazier was that when we finally for the pasta dish there was a hair in. We got their pizza for first time. We actually wanted to get from Montclair one but they refused to answer their phones. They (Montclair Ah' Pizz) would pick up the phone and hang up on us over and over. Whatever. I guess they couldn't handle the rush. So since we were on way back from Manhattan we tried the Harrison location. My pizza was decent. I was annoyed they assumed we wanted personal 12" pizzas. Instead of a regular sized pizza. I mean who does that? Who assumes the smaller size? Even from a biz perspective it doesn't make sense. Do not get the s'mores desert pizza Do not get the "bread pudding ". They would be much better off if they teamed up with local bakery because our experience with their desserts was really really bad. I came to Ah' Pizz on a Sunday for brunch. Arrived at 11:20 and the staff was sitting inside with the doors locked. It's supposed to open at 11:00 according to their website so I called to verify while waiting and my car and no response their either. My family who lives in this area has made this the new family party spot, and I was so happy to try this place out. The staff is all friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant itself is immaculate and spacious. We had a "set" menu for the party, salad (delicious dressing), white pizza, plain pizza and pepperoni and the chicken francise. The salad was served after the pizza (I would switch this), and had a delicious dressing. The pizza was delicious, not overly heavy and perfectly cooked. I didn't try the chicken but it smelled amazing and all the food was presented beautifully. We also were given Nutella pizza...not a fan. The dough is too chewy for this concept to work and too thick. I also appreciate fast service but at times we felt rushed, I think the server missed the mark on the relaxed family birthday concept but she did a great job overall. We will be back for a kids party next week and I'm excited to be able to choose from more of the menu on my own accord! read more

oof. this was not it. came here with my sister after rock climbing to eat for dinner but it was very disappointing. my friends highly recommended this place and since it's literally down the street from our apartment, i thought to try it out but i don't know if i'd come back, nevertheless recommend it. we arrived about 30-45 minutes before they closed so there wasn't a lot of people inside. we got the pesto pasta ($18) but it was absolutely disgusting. the sausage was SUPER salty and honestly, i tasted propane gas on the pizza itself. it was inedible and such a huge disappointment. it didnt' help that the waitress was never around and then stated "oh i came back and checked on you to see how the food was and you said it was okay" when she genuinely never came aside to order and give us the check. i think she realized we were right when we told her "no you didn't" because she ended up taking the pizza off the bill and telling us to come back again since we had such a bad experience. i'm glad she did take the pizza off the list and was apologetic but idk. maybe i'll come back and get something simple next time, but for now, super upsetting. read more

Ah' Pizz, you were fun! We were there for St. Patrick's Day, and it was a mixture of both quiet and loud which was quite nice! We were looking for a mellow place to go that night, and Ah' Pizz was perfect. They had a live band going, and the crowd would sing along. The food surely made a statement! We had wings for an appetizer, and the entire table swarmed over them. They were perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. We also had a Margherita pie which was also yummy! Someone at the table ordered the Rigatoni alla Vodka and after just one bite of trying it, I wish I had ordered it. Spent about an hour here. Waitress was very nice and friendly but there twice was a mix up on the drinks for our table. I ordered a cocktail which for $13 was unimpressed. A lemonade-like cocktail that was merely a shot of vodka and club with a lemon wedge. We also ordered two appetizers: The rice ball huge but was still cold inside. We ended up having to send it back to be replaced. The meatballs were good but there were two bite sized balls and more ricotta cheese on the plate than meat; Strange. The pizza which I assumed would be the best dish of the night was ok. Nothing crazy. The place was very busy with families and live music. This place only opened for a few weeks and I've already been here twice. Harrison is lacking a decent sit down restaurant with this type of ambiance. The menu is extensive - from pasta, to pizza, to salads and sandwiches. The prices are reasonable for a sit down restaurant. I'm not too big of a fan of their plain pizza, but their margherita wood-fired pizza was delicious. I've also had their pasta - which was really good as well. The service is prompt and friendly. As they just opened, I am sure they are still figuring things out, but this was a welcomed addition to the town and I hope they continue to do well! They do have a bar - but the prices are quite high. Perhaps in the future, they should really think about implementing happy hour. Currently, all drink prices are $10+. I don't drink, so that doesn't affect me, but with so many bars and alcohol licenses in Harrison, there is no lack of drinks in this town - so might as well make it competitive. read more
