I am a hospice nurse and my patient and family had great success with this agency. Caregivers Eyerusalem and John were excellent.

My 75-year-old mother underwent necessary brain surgery three weeks ago. Three days before surgery, she had a ground-level fall, tore her rotator cuff, and sustained a small fracture. Because the surgery could not be deferred, she proceeded as planned but required significant care at home afterward. She had been fully independent, and although she lives with my father, the caregiving needs were beyond his comfort level. I was able to help for a few days after her discharge, but it was clear they would need additional support for her to remain safely at home. The hospital nurses were wonderful, but my mom needed assistance even with basic tasks like repositioning in bed and using the restroom, as her left arm was immobilized. Our hospital care coordinator connected us with Amy, the client care manager for Family Matters, who met us at home right away. She performed a thorough evaluation and took the time to understand my parents' needs and preferences. Almost immediately, we were connected with KJ, the Director of Operations, who coordinated the caregiving schedule. She ensured an excellent match with caregivers and that coverage was consistent and reliable. Communication was seamless--KJ was always responsive and proactive with updates, and we never felt out of touch. My mom especially wanted to recognize her primary daytime caregiver, Maria. Maria was attentive, warm, and incredibly experienced, with over 20 years in caregiving. She is also an excellent cook and was especially skilled in helping my mom with more vulnerable tasks like showering. The other caregivers who supported nights and weekends were also wonderful. The team clearly put thought and care into matching personalities and backgrounds, which made a meaningful difference. Over the following weeks, my mom gradually regained her independence, and we were able to scale back care smoothly. The team made adjustments easy and seamless. We would absolutely use Family Matters again. This was our first experience with a caregiving service, and we were initially apprehensive, but they made the entire process easy, supportive, and reassuring. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Even more challenging is finding caregivers you can truly trust during such a vulnerable stage of life. A very special thank you to Family Matters, and my father's caregiver, Sade. He is under hospice care with advanced dementia, and can barely speak. Sade is consistently patient, and kind, and gives me complete peace of mind whenever she's caring for him. Most importantly, she engages with him and makes him feel seen. This is in sharp contrast to other caregivers we've experienced who are often on their phones and treat him as if he's invisible. I'm also especially grateful for KJ who manages the caregivers and scheduling. While other agencies haven't taken the time to meet my father or me in person, KJ made it a priority to get hands-on training to fully understand my father's caregiving needs. Because of this, she's been able to step in to provide training and support which is a huge godsend given my limited bandwidth. She even proactively revised the caregiving shift note template to make it clearer and more helpful for our caregiving team. Family Matters has truly exceeded our expectations because they understand the real meaning of caregiving. On top of that, their participation in the Veterans Assistance Program, which requires stricter qualifications provides an added layer of confidence and experience.

They are reliable, keep detailed records and of course provide excellent care. In my case it was for my mother, who could be somewhat difficult to assist. The team communicated very well and were there 24X7 as needed. They worked well with the Assisted Living facility staff at Villa Siena. In particular, there were several caregivers we'd like to name that were exceptional. Though we did not meet all of them, the ones we did meet were all caring, kind and understanding. Rosa, Vanessa, Hector and Angelia were all wonderful people. If you need a caregiver, we would Highly recommend ProHealth.

She came to Dad's bedside at the post-acute facility to make it easy for me to ask questions and sign him up for care at home. She has served as a valuable liaison. Nurse Dilara advocated for my dad with his doctor when anything wasn't quite right, drew blood for tests, filled pill boxes, and made sure med refills were up-to-date. Really appreciated having her in our corner. PT Abha and OT Ryan were super professional and helpful. Abha spoke loudly and clearly, which was super helpful for my hard-of-hearing dad. We decided to go with caregivers from ProHealth as well and have worked with some very competent, caring people. They are the true heroes who come day in and day out to accompany Dad in running errands and at appointments, support him with meals and tasks around the house, and keep the house clean and tidy. I'm very thankful to everyone at ProHealth who has served my dad in one capacity or another!

The front lobby does not have a receptionist. The sign on the plexiglass is to call the number. I failed to see the no knocking on the glass sign - someone looked up from their desk and pointed to the glass which had a sign says to call. The gentleman that helped me was very nice. I had a deductible and a monthly fee since it's a rental. The physical therapist or occupational therapist told us that someone from Apria would reach out to me for home delivery. I checked the website from my phone and also saw the same thing - you need to verify the patient's first and last name as well as DOB. Anyway, I was antsy and called yesterday. Call early because I was on hold for nearly 15 minutes. The lady on the phone was very nice as well; explained my deductible and monthly fee, and that if I were to go, go before or after their lunch hour. I came about 3 minutes before noon. Thankfully I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. The gentleman showed me how to use the leg thingies and assemble / fold up. Gavin broke his leg in 2 places Sunday and had major surgery Monday (over 6 hours). It'll be a long road of recovery for him, but I'm thankful he's alive and ok. Just no football for at least 2 years, if ever. He should be able to walk normally in 8 months to a year, his orthopedic surgeon says.

The overall experience was very smooth--from meeting the care coordinator Natalie and signing the forms to making final arrangements by text. Everyone here was warm and helpful. A special shoutout to my caregiver, Candy, who was lively and fun. After I got home, I slept for a couple of hours, and when I woke up we chatted--the conversation helped me stay alert and shake off the grogginess from the anesthesia. Being Chinese, Candy understood my needs at home, and that cultural awareness was especially comforting while recovering on my own. Hopefully I won't need surgery again--but if I do, I'll be calling California Seniors Care!

She made me feel that my dad was in good hands even before the ride began. Natalie Nelson was the wonderful person who picked up my dad from the hospital. She arrived earlier than our scheduled time and even texted me, saying, "Take your time." That meant so much to me because I knew she understood how stressful a hospital discharge can be. The hospital process was extremely slow, and Natalie ended up waiting for more than 45 minutes. But she never complained or showed any frustration. She continued to be so warm, patient, cheerful, and compassionate. What touched my heart the most was what my dad said afterward. He told me, "This lady is so nice! How do you know her? Is she your friend?" That says everything. Natalie treated my dad not like a new client, but like an old friend she had known for years. Her kindness was genuine, and I could feel that she truly cared about my dad--not just as a passenger, but as a person. During a difficult and stressful day, her compassion brought us so much comfort. I will never forget how she treated my dad with such dignity, patience, and kindness. It truly touched my heart. Thank you so much, Danielle and Natalie, for making a difficult day a little easier for our family. I wholeheartedly recommend this service to anyone who needs medical transportation. You will be in caring and compassionate hands.

I was in panic mode, desperately looking for someone to help care for my parents. My father has been overwhelmed trying to care for my mother, who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. From the moment Tina answered, she put me at ease. She reassured me that my concerns were common and that my frustrations were completely understandable. She patiently listened as I vented and asked countless questions. I was truly impressed by her compassion, calm demeanor, and willingness to help in any way she could. Although their services were a bit outside of our budget, Tina went above and beyond by suggesting other resources and even providing contact information along with questions to ask so I could find the right fit for my family. I hung up feeling far more confident and supported than when I first called. Visiting Angels is lucky to have such a caring and empathetic person representing their team. UPDATE following Tani's reply: the review has nothing to do with taking "some time to get answers" or not getting "the answer" we had "hoped for." The negative review is because of the executive director's failure to communicate.
