Parking lot is a hot mess and hard to navigate in. Has ample handicapped spots but, fair warning,…read moremost of the people here appear to be handicapped as the spots are usually taken and dont turn over quickly. The regular spots are tight/narrow. (Both in width and in regards to backing out of). People fly in this lot, so be careful. The building itself is older. Its near the city so its a bit of a hike for me and not my favorite OSU location, mainly due to the lot. They have renovated the inside of the building and it looks better than it had five years ago but still many walls are painted in a dismal institutional beige. Checking in is easy. There is a front dest. She routes you to a numbered stall where your information is verified. Then they give you directions to find your docs practice location. Tip: If they tell you go to the Brutus hallway that is aka as "to the right" of the front desk. I saw my sports doc here for an ankle injury: Dr Anthony. He is definitely 5+ stars. He is very good at listening to what is bothering you as well as he is examining/diagnosing/treating the injury. So far, I have avoided surgery, but he does that as well. . Highly recommend him as I have been seeing him since before 2020. He has multiple offices.... Usually see him in New Albany.

Of course, every patient has to make their own decision, but I do not recommend this physician to anyone's care. We all have moments where we are not having our greatest day, but should never be brought to work. Always care for others, and of course, patients should always show respect to staff as well.

Can this get greater? Oh, yeah, IT CAN. No kids at this facility, other than a small number who come in for scheduled swim lessons. What to consider if you are younger and looking for Crossfit type classes: there are a mix of classes, including spinning, but as the demographic skews older you may not find the intensity you are looking for, but do check. It also does cost more than a Planet Fitness (but considerably less than a LifeTime Fitness.) I do wish they would upgrade the locker rooms, they are fine but are showing their age--this includes the state of the towels. You have to do a fitness assessment as a pro forma thing when you start. It's not really a pass/fail so that is cool at least. It's not particularly useful but it's required. I ended up getting a guy who was pissed about a schedule error and was kind of rude so perhaps my perception of the experience is tainted. But hey, that's really the only bad thing I have to say.

I think people's expectations are generally low for a student health center, but I was always able to get appointments very quickly and, aside from one doctor, found everyone to be exceptionally friendly. The women's services doctors were really great - friendly, patient, understanding, never judgmental. If you have to have your first pelvic exam here, have no fear - you are in good hands. My first doctor (who unfortunately has since left) even went above and beyond to do a blood test to check my iron levels when I mentioned in passing that I was a vegetarian and recommended a multivitamin. Pat Balassone was always great - she did my pre-study-abroad appointment and was very thorough, writing out notes and making sure I had an epi-pen to take with me. Dr. Coleman, the allergist, was excellent and made pages and pages of detailed notes. He was a little slow, but nice and thorough. The dental providers were good too. Phlebotomists (who draw blood) were really friendly and the lab turnaround was very quick. Even though the waiting room is sometimes full, everything moves quickly. And once you leave Ohio State and move on to a new doctor, medical records cost $8 and they had about a week turnaround. If you have OSU's student health insurance, all you pay for is dental and specialist appointments. The pharmacy is cheap and pretty quick. The only downsides is the dated facility. But the quality of service makes up for it. And maybe someday soon, there will be a new facility. They can call me and ask for donations for that any time!
