My father passed away a few weeks ago (he was 93 years old) and had preplanned his arrangements a few years back. He was a wonderful man and wanted to insure his wishes were carried out. We were told to call mortuary by friend. When we called we were told we needed to sign papers to release remains to friend. Questions were asked as to parents names. No question as to whether we wanted any ashes or not. Several days went by before paperwork arrived via email. After his cremation we asked for 3 death certificates to be sent to us priority mail as we were leaving for Colorado the next week. We were willing to pay for it. When we called to check we were told they were mailed on Fri. As we watched for their arrival we were worried they were lost. When we asked for the tracking number Receptionist said it wasn't readily available. When they finally arrived I found they were sent regular mail which can take 1 week or more. I am very dissatisfied with their service . On top of it the death certificate is inaccurate.

I could complete the paperwork at my pace, and submit and prepay, so that at the time of death, no additional stressors. If a question came up, I also had good communication with the staff. She said there was a $690.00 just to dig the hole 12" x 12" and 18" deep. Then there was a plastic vault we had to put the urn in and it was $298.00. The urn was cheap plastic and the urn did not fit plus tax. Seems to me they are praying on the sadness of our loss. Since the plot was paid for either you pay the $994.00 or no hole. I could have used a post hole digger besides I know good and well it it not cost the $690.00 to dig the whole What a rip off.

This is a lovely small town cemetery. The oldest gravestone is 1888. Mostly Lyons locals are buried…read morehere from the small town of 2,000 people. The Town and Museum have a list of the names and other information, and I hear that one day there will be a map in a kiosk on the grounds. There are many tall trees (but not a canopy of trees), and you can see near and close mountains. There are some interesting gravestones, many of which are made out of the local red sandstone. It is located at the end of Third Avenue (going north), and turns into Cemetry Circle (I'm told the street name is misspelled). There is no office on the grounds.

Mountain View Memorial park is a nice location with a view of the front range (and parts of the…read moreback range). As a memorial park, it is mostly graves with flat headstones (so from a distance it just looks like a large grass field). We actually went with the very pleasant cremation garden in the south-west corner -- it's a very well-maintained garden with flowers, bushes and trees etc. around a fountain, where you can place cremains (in a bronze capsule) in granite-covered niches in the wall, or in the ground covered by a small granite stone in various shapes, or a flagstone stepper. Overall, their service was pretty good, though we did have to double-check their engravings proofs for typos. They were able to prepare the bronze capsule (which makes a nice urn for the funeral) in 3 business days, and have the engraved flagstone ready for the internment the following day.
