My husband passed away last September and the Natural Funeral home did a fabulous job and allowed us to have the perfect service for my husband. They answered all of our questions and the entire process was stress free for our family. The staff is so kind and they make you feel like part of their work family. In December of every year they offer a program called Light from our Hearts and I highly recommend that if you have lost a loved one, that you try to attend this special memorial. I don't really want to make this about money, but The Natural Funeral Home is far less expensive than your average funeral parlor and as far as I am concerned, much more personable. This company has been a horrible experience. My mother who was mentally ill used their services, basically to reinforce erroneous information (aka her fraudulent identities which were, to say the least, an essay of cultural misappropriation as well as racist stereotyping) about the family identity when she wrote her own obituary. When I wrote a personal comment below the obit, Dan TOOK THE LIBERTY TO EDIT my own comment so that I was misrepresented. As if he had the right to WRITE ON BEHALF OF THE FAMILY. Dan Z is not my family. When I protested he removed my comment. And this was after, as a concerned family member along with another concerned family member, we requested numerous times to have the obituary altered and/or removed completely. When I requested documentation as to why the family identity had to be misrepresented online without correction, he offered no written or legal proof of why the obituary had to stay online. Eventually we agreed that he would insert a paragraph into the obit in which the family clearly states that this version of the collective family history does not represent the family identity or beliefs. AND THEN HE LATER REMOVED IT WITHOUT INFORMING THE FAMILY. To this day the family would like that obituary taken down. It is highly offensive and, in addition, the text clearly depicts my mother's delusional nacissistic behaviour which does not need to be hanging online. The Natural Funeral company is itself a farce of artificiality, promoting fake information, clearly uses manipulative undermining tactics, insensitive and offensive to my family's needs, patronizing behaviour and baldfaced lying. I highly recommend to stay away from them. read more

Entering this funeral business was a whole new experience. I was greeted warmly and given an informative tour. This isn't your typical funeral home; it's literally in a quaint home off of the festival center in Old Town Lafayette. The business itself is warm and inviting. There were locally crafted urns made of wood and pottery, a library of books on death and dying, small spaces where local organizations hold bereavement groups and education, etc. I was impressed. The gathering space for family/friends to gather and honor their loved one is private and naturally beautiful. As a hospice employee, I was very to happy to see that such a place exists.
