We were walking along the beach with our dogs and noticed this cute little place. It was getting close to dinner and I noticed people outside on the deck eating and having drinks. We went into the ""cabin" and asked if our dogs were allowed outside on the deck. ""Yes!" ""of course they are.". So we sat at a cute little corner table (see pic) and enjoyed a yummy bite to eat. (See pic). Great prices, wonderful service, and beautiful view.

What a waste. Great location, came in, stood next to the "Order Here" sign for a couple of minutes while the bartender yucked it up with a customer. They didn't acknowledge us until we walked out, when she gave us a snarky "bye guys". Such poor form.

Ahles Point Cabin bar overlooks the Columbia River in Kalama, Washington. It features indoor seating and a great outdoor area with a fireplace. Currently, they only serve beer and wine, but spirits will be available soon. Ahles Point Cabin bar in located in Kalama ,Washington Bartenders are the best Enjoy

Love the wine flight we had at the cabin!

What a fun detour from the main Mcmenamins Kalama Harbor location. This little cabin is a part of Mcmenamins but isn't connected to the main lodge. On a pleasant day you can stroll down a walking path from the lodge to the cabin along the always scenic Columbia River. It's about a ten minute walk between the two buildings and the river bank is sandy so you can stroll down there off the walking path and get closer to the river and enjoy the sand. At the cabin you can order food like pizzas for example which would be an intriguing option. There is a bar in the cabin and you can get beer, cider and wine. Steve and I did a flight of Edgefield wine which was excellent and we bought a bottle in the gift shop of one of the wines we had. While there isn't a large amount of seating in the cabin on a Friday afternoon there were plenty of empty seats but I'm sure it gets busier on the weekends and the space here could be a challenge but if it's nice out I saw outside seating too. The fireplace in here was going and the wood that was being burnt smelled great! The waitress here was awesome and very approachable and friendly. She didn't let us forget that there were secret rooms to find at the main lodge which is a trademark of Mcmenamins and some of their hotels.

Outstanding service from Jeremy - he really went the extra mile! Friendly, attentive, thoughtful, very helpful, and a great conversationalist while never getting too long-winded. My hubs and I enjoyed a great game of chess on the adorable miniature glass chess set here (I won - yeah!). They also have cribbage and a few other board games too. We were warned immediately that the food would take 35 - 40 minutes, so we ordered a couple of bags of chips to tide us over and enjoyed the impressively awesome indoor fireplace before moving outside to the patio to watch the sun set over the river while eating our dinner. Hubs got the Terminator Stout and the Turkey Sandwich, and he loved both. I got the 1/2 Aztec Salad, the 8" BBQ Hammerhead Pizza (with gluten-free crust for $3 extra, yay!), and the delightfully-tart Crangerine Dream Hard Cider. I loved all 3 of them. Ahle's Point Cabin is part of McMenamin's, so if you're staying there (we were), you can put your tab on your room fees if you like - very convenient. Getting to Ahle's Point Cabin is an easy 5-minute walk from the McMenamin's main lodge through the lovely riverfront Louis Rasmussen Day Park. In addition to the indoor fireplace, there is an outdoor fireplace on the patio too! Jeremy also gave blankets to each customer on the patio as the sun began to sink below the hills and the air started to get much colder. So nice! We'd go back to this place anytime!

Super cool little location serves beer and wine products. No mix drinks / liquor. Has a food menu. Seats mg appears to be plentiful including an outside patio area with a fire place. Really cool little place. Sit and watch the ships go by why you have a bite to eat and sip something to drink.

It's a great little stand alone cabin about half a mile from the Kalama main dock house. It's simple but well decorated in Mcmenamins style. The drinks are refreshing and served at the bar. The menu is light but good with an amazing mushrooms dish. The view is perfect on a nice sunny day you can enjoy it from one of the many tables in their outdoor seating.

If you go to lots of McMenamins it might be worth getting the passport.

This is a wonderful hidden gem. It doesn't get much better than sitting on the deck with a beer and a few friends on a summer evening.

I'll start this review off by saying that I love Cathlamet. It's a quaint little historic town…read morewith a rich history and really nice people. I've been visiting here a dozen times a year for four decades. There are a few eateries here. Many seem to come and go although there are a couple that have survived the test of time. RM38 is a newcomer... used to be in a small building with VERY limited hours. I gather their main biz was brewing craft beer for a very small clientele of businesses and the "saloon" was mostly a side hustle to help pay the rent. So I see they moved into new digs down at the marina. I won't take off any stars for the following since this seems to be their new business model: Offering uber-expensive, skimpy portions of not especially tasty food targeted to yuppies who have more money than brains. Suffice to say that you won't see many Bikers hanging out here. The good: Their patio has a nice river view and a pleasant breeze. Sitting out there enjoying a cold one on a hot Summer day is very pleasant. And during the Fall too so long as it's not raining. People complain about the lack of parking which is not an issue when you show up on a motorcycle. But there are LOTS of places to park although you may have to walk a few yards... you poor darlings. Staff is less than amazing but they are always courteous towards me. I suppose I am no more their dream customer than they are my dream hangout. But Bikers tend to be very generous tippers so they might want to keep that in mind. There's one long-established watering hole in Cathlamet but it's a dark, indoor venue. I like it there and it's more of a dive bar with very good food. The thing about Cathlamet is that if you are just an occasional visitor you have many options of where to stop for a meal and/or drink and never get bored. There's also a few good places at the other end of the ferry ride in Westport, Oregon. Hard to say how long RM38 will stay in business. I'm actually surprised that they lasted in their original location for so long considering that they were only open for a few hours during the weekend. It would be great if they quit pretending to be an upscale eatery and instead focused on providing a good value, tasty, filling meal for the money. Again, no minus stars for that but until new management comes along and makes some changes it will just be a pint or two for me and i'm on my way. Of course as always YMMV.
