Im so happy this wine bar is here! It was such a lovely place to catch up with a friend. The service was excellent and we loved everything we tried (which was quite a bit!). If the day you'd like to visit shows that they're closed, give her a call. She sometimes will open for reservations, which she did for us. She knows her stuff!

I've never been to a wine bar or restaurant that refuses to let guests taste wines before committing to a full pour, especially at their price point. Yet the bartender here would not allow us to taste anything. Since tasting wasn't permitted, I asked him about the wines to help guide our choices, and he still couldn't answer basic questions. The few descriptions he offered were inaccurate, and we ended up purchasing wine we didn't enjoy at an overpriced rate, which is exactly why tasting is standard practice in this industry. To make matters worse, the bartender had an attitude and was not friendly or welcoming. With so many great wine bars in walking distance, you'd expect a higher level of customer service. Clearly that's not a priority here. And one more strange detail: they advertise that they have records, but you are not allowed to pick the records they play... Overall an incredibly disappointing visit. I wouldn't recommend this place when there are so many better options nearby.

Place was half full (maybe 10 customers), and the waiter was already so frazzled that he was kinda rude/abrupt - he just could not handle the 10 customers in the bar and dining. No food was coming out of the kitchen, and we watched the table next to us get up and leave after waiting for an hour and only getting an anemic looking single appetizer, and still waiting for drinks. They were upset, but we stayed because we were not in a hurry. The food was terrible. Waited an hour for an unceremonious plate of six or so dumplings the size of Hershey's kisses. That charcuterie plate other reviews talked about? It took 45 minutes and was very disappointing. I'll post a photo. We heard the waiter and cook cursing at each other- not good. Nice beer list, weak wine list. The Pinot Noir is Wine by Joe. Don't go.

Located in downtown Hillsboro, this store has a lot going on: - The main shop offers bottles to go. The checkout counter doubles as a tasting bar, it's got large windows with lots of light, and of course rows upon rows of wine. Neil's a wine expert so if you're not sure what to get just ask. There's something here for every budget. - The lounge is a moodier, darker, more romantic space with velvet couches. Great for a wine date night! - They've got private wine lockers for members, which means they have memberships of a couple of levels. - They do tastings, events, classes, parties, etc. - They've got a wine club with subscriptions, local delivery, or shipping. It's a really cool space! In talking with others, I understand that this is a place that downtown Hillsboro will greatly benefit from having. If you're in the area I definitely recommend checking it out!

Unfortunately, it's closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, so we planned to visit later in the afternoon on Wednesday. When we arrived, the parking area was empty. I walked up to the front door and stepped inside. I immediately noticed the fire crackling in the fireplace. I told the staff member I'd be right back after getting my wife. At the time, the only person inside was the McMenamins employee. The space itself is small and cozy, with two booths, about four tables, and seating for around five at the bar. There's also outdoor seating with a fireplace, though it wasn't lit during our visit. When my wife came in, she was absolutely delighted. She walked straight over and stood in front of the fire, soaking it in. We took seats at the bar near the fireplace and asked about their offerings. The bartender provided menus, which feature a small but appealing selection of appetizers, pizzas, subs, and desserts, along with a modest drink list. We'd already eaten, but I ordered a pint of their Hammerhead. As we sat by the fire, we chatted with the bartender/server, who shared a bit about the place and the nearby Kalama Harbor Lodge. A few other groups came in while we were there, but after I finished my beer, we decided to head out. Overall, we both thought this was a really charming little spot, warm, welcoming, and well worth checking out. Highly recommend!
