I knew I should've jumped in line as soon as my group of 4 ladies walked into the Live & Up Close Theater at Sycuan. This was the first time KGB 101 was having a DSC (Dave, Shelly, & Chainsaw) Ladies Night. Our group of 4 were the first ladies in line for the event. We were strategically planning which booths to visit AFTER we enjoyed complimentary bites! This is where I went wrong... AHN was the only Brow/ Makeup booth. The event was from 7- 10pm. I waited in line for an hour & fifteen minutes. And my turn came at 9:30pm. Now, let me give you a rundown on my caterpillars. I had microblading done literally one year ago. And, as we know- this is not a permanent treatment. My blading strokes were fading. Since I knew there was a brow booth for Ladies Night- I didn't bother to do jack shit to my brows. I could've easily been mistaken for the Yeti's cousin. When it's my turn, I lay down on AHN's table & she adjusts her light to take a look at my brows. She asks politely, "What's goin on here?" I give her the rundown of my microblading & how I don't bother getting them waxed at the nail salons- because they usually end up having my brows look like a chola. We laugh about our chola days. She commented how the microblading gave my brows a different shape than what she'd think would look. I tell AHN, I'm open to suggestions. As she preps my brows- she leans in & politely says," At least, tweeze your fucken brows". I died laughing! Within 15 minutes- she transformed my brows w- makeup & waxing, and eyebrow trimming. My jaw dropped! Yes, it was worth the hour plus wait! Even though it's a mini expo, per se- I had to tip $15!!! She worked miracles! read more

However, my custom facial today was very comparable and super relaxing! I actually prefer AHN over other locations that I frequent. Cory was friendly, incredibly knowledgable about skin care & organic products, & professional. I had numerous concerns about my skin & she had solutions for all of them! The products she used made my skin feel silky smooth. From the enzyme peel, to the extractions, to the hydration mask, to the calming music, to the soft bed, I felt so relaxed! Just left AHN from getting my eyebrows waxed with Janina. I realized on Monday that I was well overdue for an eyebrow wax and that I had company coming at the end of the week. My skin is sensitive and I tend to break out a day or so after, so I needed to get in asap. I called the salon and left a txt asking if they could get me in immediately. Janina responded and said she had an opening on Wednesday. I asked if there was any way she could squeeze me in on Tuesday and the angel that she is made time to get me in!! LOVE! I have short fine eyelashes. Eyelashes that you would have to squint to find that they exist. And I am obsessed with long pretty eyelashes. So I bought one of those "Groupon Now" from Ahn Beauty and got my eyelashes done by Liz, who works at Ahn. Despite getting eyelash extensions at a discounted price from Groupon, Liz did an amazing and natural job with my eyelash extensions. She had me lay down in her reclined chair, while she wore supermagnified glasses and she worked her magic. She was soothing, gentle and relaxing. Most of the time, I didn't even feel her put the eyelashes on me. When I was done in about an hour, I had beautiful, natural looking eyelash extensions on me. Within a week, my eyelash extensions started falling off of my eyelashes. I texted Liz and she put me in within a day to see her. We realized that since my eyelashes are thin and fine, they couldn't support the extensions. So Liz helped reapply new lashes, and adjusted the way the glue adhered to my lashes, and redid everything, with no extra charge. I was willing to pay her, but she refused and insisted that my lashes were supposed to last longer and it wouldn't be right to make me pay for it. She even ordered thinner (and lighter) eyelash extensions so she will have it in hand next time I come in. That is amazing and generous. What great service. Liz also recommended a serum to help my lashes grow longer and thicker, which I have been using and it's been working. I think I'm going to give my eyelashes a break from extensions but the next time I come in for extensions, I will for sure go back to her. Holy clear skin and radiance! This place is incredible. Particularly, Janina is awesome! I've had a few facials before trying a Bloomspot deal for Ahn, and went in skeptical. I've never felt a huge need for regular facials and the places I'd gone previously (which are highly rated as well) left me feeling clean, but not transformed in any way. I was impressed with Janina from the get-go. 1. The most important thing is the outcome, so we'll start there: I've never had my skin looking so radiant - ever. Possibly not even when I was a kid. I am the type that always wears makeup because I'm not a fan of my complexion and other blemishes. I went home after this and cooked a steak dinner for my boyfriend and I with no rush to cover my skin. My face felt so pure and smooth, and I looked so radiant that there was no way I was covering it up! 2. Availability: I was highly impressed with Janina's openness to her customers without ever having met me. When nobody is in to answer the phones, she directs you to her personal cell phone to ensure you get your appointment booked and feel taken care of. I know how it feels to be constantly connected to work, and I applaud her for choosing this for her customers. 3. Products: Janina customized my facial for my needs. Occassionally I've had facials that resulted in break outs, which I understood may be part of the purification process. But the products that she chose for me only made everything better. I had a couple minor issues that cleared up within a day or two after the facial. I love their products as a result. She gave me a free trial of a skin clearing mask to try if I ever have a big break out again, and gave me advice on what will work best on my trouble spots and insecurities. 4. Overall customer service: The worst thing is to go into a spa for a service just to feel like you're being upsold constantly. The relaxation factor gets sucked right out of the experience. Janina gave me advice on products to use, but did not once push me to buy Ahn's products specifically. That's a sign that the products will speak for themselves. 5. Aesthetics: They just moved into their new location, so they were still getting fully set up. However, the reception room is nice and airy. The furnitire and showcases are great - they fit the atmosphere and do their job well. The bed was comfy and she appeared to have everything I needed to relax, including good music. So I was more than satisfied. Long story short - I'm not a regular facial kind of girl, but I will definitely return! And I'm likely buying some Vitamin C infused serum from Ahn since I loved their products so much - I'll pay the spa product premium rather than risk it with a random drugstore product. read more

I had never gotten the dreaded Brazillian before.. Yanking Hairs out in your most sensitive area by applying hot wax by a stranger?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Nevertheless I have always been extremely jealous of my friends who claimed that "my hair is so soft! and I never have to shave" My only issue was that I never had the time or self will to let my hair grow to the length needed to get a wax. LUCKILY two amazing things happened. My boyfriend went on a week long vacation & Groupon had a an awesome deal for Ahn Skin&Beauty (25$ for Brazillian) So I booked my appointment and prepared for the worse. But when we showed up at our appointment time, we were told that they booked us for massages instead and they mixed up our names to another couple. So we could not get our facial done as planned. I've been a loyal customer of Ahn's for many years and in my opinion, she is hands down the BEST esthetician and make-up artist! She is an expert in eyebrow shaping and will give you the best shape for your face. Technically, anyone can wax your eyebrows...but what she provides is her artistic talent in grooming your eyebrows to properly frame your face. She is also an expert in Brazilian waxing. In general, the procedure can be uncomfortable - especially when you don't get them done regularly but Ahn is very reassuring and she talks you through the process. She is very quick and thorough. The procedure is relatively painless (well, depending on your pain tolerance of course). I've been to other places which have hurt a heck of a lot more. Her facials are amazing and I love her products. Since she started taking care of my skin, I've seen a vast improvement in my skin tone and I have little to no more breakouts! Ahn has vast knowledge in skin care and helps put together a beauty plan to help me maintain younger looking skin. And last but not least, Ahn is an extremely talented make-up artist. She enhances your natural beauty without making you look "fake" or "not yourself". She also provides make-up tutorials if you're like me and have no talent when it comes to putting on make-up! : ) She taught me the very basics in putting on make-up for the workday. Overall, anytime I see Ahn for the variety of services she provides, I always have a wonderful experience. The office is a wonderful oasis and it's beautifully decorated. The waiting area is very comfortable and she always has current magazines to read to entertain you while you wait (which isn't even that long). There is fresh water and teas should you want any refreshments. Some mention the business is in an office building...true but I don't necessarily believe that's a bad thing. It's a nice little escape from the busy world and the surrounding area is very quiet. There is a lot of free parking in front of the building so that's another plus. AMAZINGGGGGG! Their service is wonderful! So far I've had Becca for massages and Janina for my ultrasonic cavitation. Becca is super sweet and her massages feel amazing! Janina is also soo friendly! I have an appt with her to do my eyebrows and airbrush tan. I'll do an update post and let everyone know how that works out. :) As far as the ultrasonic cavitation, results vary from person to person. You HAVE to drink lots of water and exercise after. I've lost about an inch in my waist after 9 days, but I've also been going to the gym everyday since. I was hopeful for a good Brazilian wax after seeing the wonderful reviews, but it was a bit of a let down. Great customer service in terms of scheduling, which is why I'm giving 3 stars. I'm a pretty frequent waxer and decided to try to find a place closer of a commute. I found Ahn on Groupon and decided to give it a try. Not really sure what it was, whether it was the wax or the technique of the esthetician but OW. Wow, most painful wax I've had. Felt like she kept waxing the same spot over and over. It was stinging like crazy. She also was wearing gloves I believe, which I would understand why ppl would lol, BUT the wax on the gloves kept touching the sensitive part of my pee pee area!! So whenever she went to remove the strip of wax, her glove would tug a little of my skin in the sensitive area. Also upon examining the area, I was disappointed to find a small strip of hair left. There's always some stubborn hairs, but this is obviously a patch of hair that wasn't even touched with wax. As I was checking out, I was told the student price which is unbelievably considerate. However, I don't think it's enough to bring me back. read more

So after months of considering a bikini wax rather than shaving, I browsed around on Yelp to find a good place to go and I chose Ahn Skin & Beauty because they had the top review. After my first visit, I completely understood why. I saw all the reviews about Theresa and her waxing expertise and I can definitely say that she lives up to it! All of my other waxing appointments have been with her too. She's unbelievably nice and makes what could be something awkward and embarrassing completely comfortable. Usually, I'm in and out in about ten minutes. She keeps you occupied by talking while she works which I think helped a lot during my first Brazilian. It's small talk that's actually interesting too! She explains what's going on with the hair so that you understand what she's noticing and why she'll either schedule your appointments closer or farther too. She's super sweet and the reception area and rooms are always clean and organized. I don't know if she's the only person that does waxing because whenever I go in, I'm usually the only person there. However, my appointments are usually on Mondays in the morning, so it would make sense that the place is quiet. Bottom line is that this place is incredible and totally worth every dollar. read more

Okay so this review is a long time coming- I had a facial last month that has sustained a variety of stresses and travel, but still musters a compliment every now and then about some magical mystery facial 'glow.' I had an appointment with Carlee and she was super sweet and thorough. She did an amazing job with the facial itself and the bonus upper body massage. Just went to Ahn today for the first time and I've never been happier with a brazilian wax. When you walk in, it instantly feels spa-like. I appreciate that with the fair price point, you're not in a no-frills type of waxing place. All the rooms/ common areas are very nice and clean. The lady doing my wax was Aitana. She was very pleasant, and most importantly... painless! I've had some painful waxes in my day, but Aitana's unique technique of doing long, thin strips left me clean with minimal pain. When I called, they were really nice, not snotty, like other places I had called wanting to just do a "walk-in". I received a Groupon for AHN skin & beauty as a gift a couple months ago. I tried calling their phone number multiple times and the line says they are out of service and cannot take calls at this time. I also tried to book an appointment through their website, but no matter what date/time I ask for, it says there are no appointments available. I even tried to see if there would be open appointments in three weeks and it shows none. So this is one of two things: Either the managing of their site and phone-line is horrible or they've shut down their business. Either one is bad for me. read more
