I had a really disappointing experience here. Before my fiancée's appointment, we were told twice that a specific service would be free. Based on that information, she agreed to have it done. However, after the service was already completed, we were suddenly told we had to pay for it. If there had been a charge from the beginning, we could have made an informed decision. Instead, the price changed only after the service was finished, which felt misleading and unfair. Mistakes happen, but a business they should honor what they tell their customers, especially when the customer relied on that information before receiving the service. The older you get, the more hair grows in places just not easy to maintain, so goes nose hair. Those little nose hair trimmers just really don't work. And I can only take so much pain with tweezers. I yelped waxing bars and EWC popped up. I chose this place over all the salons and spa places 'cuz I wanted to go somewhere that's all they do - wax body hair. I stopped in without an appt and was seen within 5 mins. The process was explained well and the technician, I can't remember her name, did a great job. There is some discomfort, they are ripping hair from your nose, but not like I imagined. I will definitely go back. My wife is so proud of me. read more

Let me start off by saying, I've been to other European Wax Center locations before and have enjoyed my experiences there. I normally go to a different location but was pressed for time and needed to come to this location. I was not happy with my experience. I got my eyebrows and upper lip done. My technician Jade did a good job. The reason I was not happy with my experience was because I felt very pressured by her to get my upper lip waxed. I've only waxed it once when I was younger and had a negative experience. I haven't waxed it since. Right away when I laid down on the table, Jade mentioned my upper lip and asked if I wanted it waxed. I immediately felt self-conscious and started thinking that something was wrong with my upper lip hairs. I told her my story about why I didn't want to wax it (the negative experience and also having the hair grow back darker and thicker) and she was like "I get it but just let me know if you end up wanting to get it done because I can clean up the edge hairs for you". This made me concerned that my upper lip looked super hairy and I ended up getting it waxed. However, soon after I got my upper lip waxed, she said "If you don't want it to grow back thicker, it will help if you get it waxed every 4 weeks. We have a special going on for you to buy wax passes at a discounted price." I realized that I was pressured and shamed into getting my upper lip waxed in order to keep coming back and paying money. This really upset me because this is not something I wanted to do and made me distrust the employees at this location. Due to my unpleasant experience, I will not be coming back to this location again. Just beware that you will feel pressured into doing a service only for them to turn around and get you sucked into to paying additional money. read more

So I went in for a Brazilian . I felt like I was lied to when I specifically told them I wanted someone that was trained well. The girl named Chloe didn't do a good job. The girl that use to help me named victoria was amazing!! But this girl Chloe left patches and lines. She seemed like she was rushing and nervous like she wasn't trained to do this. The most painful and horrific wax experience I've EVER had. The only positive from the experience is the half price deal I got being a first time customer. I live in NYC but was visiting my parents for the holidays. I was in need of a wax and this was the only waxing center I found in Katy that uses a hard wax. All the other places I found were nail salons that don't specialize in bikini waxes so I was skeptical due to their limited experience with waxing down there... My friend had recommended the RiverOaks and Bunker hill EWC so I assumed the Cinco Ranch location couldn't be that far off but wow was I wrong. Play by play of my experience: I decided to try my luck and booked an appointment a half hour before so it was nice of them to accommodate me on such short notice. The place was completely empty when I got there so there was no wait. The ladies working there were watching a "funny video" and were squealing and laughing for a large part of my time there. It was a little annoying and unprofessional for sure. The aesthetician offered me no privacy to change and stayed in the room to "mix the wax". I've never had someone stay in the room while I undressed. The wax was going fine at first until she used "too much wax" and claimed that a clump of wax was stuck to my skin and tangled that she couldn't get off...that has NEVER happened before and I still don't understand logistically how an experienced aesthetician could allow that to happen. To address this situation she began CUTTING the wax off me with scissors! I was definitely HORRIFIED and worried she was going to cut my skin too. She also used a tweezer to clean up areas the wax didn't get. I've been waxing for years and have never had someone use tweezers let alone cut wax off me!! She was also double dipping the waxing stick into the wax mixture which is also unsettling. I should have listened to the Yelp reviews below and stayed away from this location. But my parents live in Cinco Ranch so for the sake of convenience I decided to give it a try. Horrible decision. After my wax the ladies tried to sell me a package deal claiming I could use it at the New York locations. Not thanks, after service like this I'm sticking to Uni K and NY Skin Spa in NYC! They also automatically booked my next appointment when I politely declined saying I lived in New York and didn't want to book another appointment they told me I could call and cancel at a later date. Not sure why it couldn't be done on the spot today? I can't speak to all the EWC locations in the Houston area but stay away from this particular one. Hopefully a better waxing service opens up in Cinco so a girl can get a decent wax! read more

Normally I am not much for waxing, I was however finally talked into getting my back waxed. The person the waxed me is named Hana and she did such a great job. I am not sure why people say waxing is so painful. Hana is very gentle and very good and what she does. I was afraid of ingrown hair, however I had none. First, I will start off by saying I have been managing multiple locations for over a year in Chicago and this was the biggest disappointment visiting this location. My waxer, Victoria, used the same Wax stick to remove the wax from my underarms-which is completely disgusting and not hygienic. Everyone in the center including front desk was rude. By far the most horrific Brazilian experience EVER! I went there in a rush( no appointment needed) and was not worried about looking at reviews since EWC is known for their Brazilians. Lord was I wrong! Monica didn't leave the room once she asked me to strip down. She stayed there and that's just a bit uncomfortable. Every other place I have been to give you some privacy and time to settle down. Monica just wanted to get right to it. No pleasantries no nothing. She probably took 10 min to get the whole thing done. She didn't hold my skin taut and hurt me real bad. I was so red when she was done that I could barely check for any strays. When I got home and the redness had subdued, I realized this was not just the most painful but the most untidy Brazilian I have ever had. And mind you, when I say painful, I mean this was worse than my 1st. Days later, I had to deal with pealing skin as well. I will never be going back... EVER! The most ridiculous customer experience I've ever experienced. I am a long time member of EUC probably at least 2-3 years. I also probably the target clientele that EUC designs their business plan for: middle aged woman who can afford long term packages that will continue to return. I have unlimited packages in several services and when those that aren't available, I always buy the buy 9, get 3 free. I have invested thousands into EUC bc the product and service are worth it. However, Because I don't have much free time and I don't plan too far ahead, I usually call the day I want to go and make an appointment within the hour for my services. I have found recently that because I want to get 4 services done at the same time- I'm having to schedule farther and farther out which doesn't work for me. I also know that the blocks of times that EUC allots for certain services actually doesn't match how long it takes me to get waxed bc I'm not super hairy- so often i can squeeze more items into 1 "service Block" of time based on the waxer (some are slower/some are more experienced and faster). EUC has trained all the receptionist with certain script on how they want appointments to be taken but I know that if I tell them all the services I want completed right away, I won't be able to come in right away which is the priority for me(this girl told me the first available was 4pm on that day, which was 3 hours later than I could go). This particular day, I just needed to get whatever service(s) I could get done at 1pm. When the front desk girl (why do I call her "the front desk girl"??BECAUSE SHE REFUSED TO GIVE ME HER NAME) answered the phone, she asked what services I wanted to get (par for the script). This is where it all went wrong. I threw a wrench in the script and it causes her to spin out of orbit. Instead of answering, I just ask what was the first available time block (15 mins can get you underarms, whereas eyebrows take long etc) knowing whatever it was, it was what I wanted to take and depending free amount of time- I would pick the wax most important to me. She asked again, for which service, but I responded it didn't matter bc I have several packages and could just pick based on what was the first available. She kept talking over me and cutting me off, never once remaining silent to try to understand my perspective ({insert gasp}as the customer) then HUNG UP on me. I called back, she wouldn't answer the phone. I wonder how she learned that particular skill and how often that has been used as a tactic as a passive aggressive gesture for a customer? I was already driving and near the location. I wanted her name and to speak to a manger concerning the interaction. Not to mention to redeem the services I've already paid for which was to freaking just get waxed on my day off. When I walked in, I asked for the manager. She called her and then responded with the continued attitude responds: "she's away from the center, I'll get your name and number and she'll call you back". We'll see if that happens. She continued to raise her voice to the point of embarrassment for all that were in the store so much so, a waxer came out of the back to "see if everything was ok". The young lady suddenly turned into a victim and acted like I was assaulting her, spouting out to check the cameras and the other woman waiting for her appt could "vouch for her back" or some ludicrous statements alike. It was beyond ridiculous. I was able to walk out to my car and book ALL the appointments online FOR the times I wanted on the app at 1pm. When I came back in, she threaten to cancel 2 of the 4 appointments "because it doesn't work that way". Listen, maybe there's something wrong with the booking process in the app but if it lets me book it, then I should be able to keep it. She went to ballistic level 10 all because I wouldn't comply with the script. It was a pretty simple fix. Just stop talking and listen to the customer (novel idea, I know), let me say what I was trying to accomplish without cutting me off and then find a solution, especially for a customer service based industry. Pretty basic. But yet it was a complete ordeal which included the front desk girl yelling at me which was completely out of line. People forget that when you're in the "service industry". That is industry doesn't go very far, nor do you have a job if there's no customers to frequent that service. It's a sad day, that I "get" to pay thousands and then expected to continue patronizing said business and expect to have to jump through hoops of nonsense. Very unprofessional, on her phone checking Facebook while I was undressing, I am pretty sure she didn't clean the bed I laid on, she just put that paper and that is it. Also, she was not gentle at all, very rude and treating you like you feel no pain. Didn't have the courtesy to ask how I was doing! Once she finished she went back to her phone while I was getting dress! I tried to talk to a manager, but guess what?! They don't have any! So weird!
