Small grocery store that also has takeout food and ice cream. I didn't try the ice cream, but I did grab a boxed sushi for takeout. The sushi was fresh and yummy! Not cheap, but reasonably priced. Next time I go, I want to try an onigiri. Service is friendly and fast, and the space is clean. There's no place to sit and eat though, so only come here if you're getting takeout.

Ai Mart just opened a few weeks ago in it's own separate area away from most of the other Chinatown grocery stores. Their prices on many items are much better and their stock looks fresh. They make homemade ice cream daily with exotic flavors that rival any ice cream shop in the city. The woman I spoke with who works there is an absolute sweetheart. This is one of those shops the moment you walk in...you want to make it your own and not tell anyone else about it...but they deserve the business. Customer service, product selection, fresh ice cream...how can I not share with others how amazing they are...enjoy.

Ai Mart is a newer Asian grocery store that's become a handy addition to NYC's Chinatown. The store is well-stocked with a wide range of Asian grocery items, from pantry staples to snacks, alongside various home goods and other products, all at very reasonable prices. What makes it stand out is the fresh food section. They sell ready-to-eat items like onigiri (rice balls) and various hot foods. A real highlight is their ice cream, which features unique Asian flavors such as durian and lychee. The ice cream looks great, isn't overly sweet, and offers a fun way to end your shopping trip. It's a solid, modern grocery option in the neighborhood that successfully combines essential shopping with some delicious, convenient treats.

New store. Decent selection. Lots of candy and snacks. Welcome to the neighborhood! Worth a visit.

Nice little store with okay pricing. The ice cream is very good and according to my girlfriend the Duran flavor is good. Will probably go back if wanting cheap ice cream compared to what's around or onigiri

The market has a little bit of everything. Workers are really nice and the ice cream is great too!

Something cool to note is after a certain time, they discount sushi and onigiri by 30%.

They have a wide selection of Asian and non-Asian ingredients whether you're looking for fresh, canned, dry, frozen, you name it. It does get a bit hectic in there. The aisles are narrow. Lines can be chaotic. They have a lot of fresh seafood and meat, which I have not had the guts to try. I took off one star for the chaos. I can't recommend it for the ambience, but it's one of my go-tos.

The prices, which once were the big lure, are also longer quite as good as they were. As some here have noted, they engaged in outright price-gouging during the COVID pandemic, which I found to be obnoxious. But then the quality of the vegetables steadily declined. Perhaps it was a bad supplier or whatever. And they weren't as cheap as they used to be. The service, while never good, has turned rude, and worse at the fish counter. My old fish store on Grand closed so I started going here for fish. At first I didn't mind when "locals" were waited on ahead of me, but frankly it became irritating after a time. I'm not sure it's legal, to be honest. And the prices of fish are not as good, a buck more expensive per pound, than other fish merchants. The rat i saw on my last visit clinched it for me. Goodbye, Hong Kong Supermarket.
