One of the few places where I can find my favorite Malaysian coffees. I have ordered from here three times so far. The online ordering is efficient, fair priced, and fast. While in the vicinity of Chinatown, Lower East Side, NYC on a Wednesday for my professional duties of my Sisyphean task lunch summons something on-the-go, simple, small portion, and inexpensive. Ai Mart is a newer modern Asian market that is located in Chinatown which is very welcoming addition. I purchased two Onigiris, Japanese rice balls $3.00 each which the filling was good and the Nori (seaweed) wrapping was solid. The rice was below room temp which made the rice sticky and hard to chew. Disappointedly, no plum Onigiri. There are spicy tuna, spicy tuna mayo, spicy salmon, and Unagi (eel). Soy sauce condiment is available for purchase at $0.75. It is very well stock with inventory of Asian imported snacks, Asian ice cream, beauty products, home goods, including prepared hot foods tempura, teriyaki, ramen as well as sashimi/ sushi. Price is reasonable specifically in 2026 stagflation era. If my trek home was close to Chinatown I would surely purchase one pint of Matcha green tea ice cream. Customer service is welcoming and friendly and available for any questions at the cash wrap counter. read more

Small grocery store that also has takeout food and ice cream. I didn't try the ice cream, but I did grab a boxed sushi for takeout. The sushi was fresh and yummy! Not cheap, but reasonably priced. Next time I go, I want to try an onigiri. Service is friendly and fast, and the space is clean. There's no place to sit and eat though, so only come here if you're getting takeout. read more

Ai Mart just opened a few weeks ago in it's own separate area away from most of the other Chinatown grocery stores. Their prices on many items are much better and their stock looks fresh. They make homemade ice cream daily with exotic flavors that rival any ice cream shop in the city. The woman I spoke with who works there is an absolute sweetheart. This is one of those shops the moment you walk in...you want to make it your own and not tell anyone else about it...but they deserve the business. Cool store with lots of Asian offerings. I like that they have onigiri, sushi, and other ready-made foods. I tried their Inari Onigiri and it was good; I loved having an option as someone who doesn't eat fish. Something cool to note is after a certain time, they discount sushi and onigiri by 30%. Saw a new shop on my way to Taipan Bakery (to get some mooncakes) and stopped in to check it out. It's a small shop of snacks, pre-made food, sushi, ramen, and instant ramen (hot water available And a ramen machine (cooks ramen with hot water dispenser), home stuff, skincare / soaps and other miscellaneous items. There is a section to reheat food, dispense hot water or cook your instant ramen bowl. They have a large display of onigiri (Japanese rice balls) $1.99; made freshly daily by 11AM (or 12pm noon on some other sign). There were signs everywhere about their fresh onigiri. There are also prepackaged ramen with toppings (not sure where the broth is) which you can heat up in the microwave. There are packaged ice cream in the freezers and freshly made ice cream (1 scoop starting at $5), milkshakes and more. Friendly cashier. I wish there was receipt given but she was in a rush to service some ladies that wanted ice cream. Maybe need another cashier as there was a line forming behind me to pay for their items. I bought 1 onigiri and a drink. Unagi (eel) onigiri and Snow Pear juice. The rice is abit below room temp which made the rice sticky and hard to swallow/chew. Maybe, I should had warm it up in the microwave? Luckily, I had the snow pear juice to wash down my unagi. The onigiri has 1 large piece of unagi which made it worth the price. Popped in for a snack on a Friday afternoon and tried the inari (sweet tofu skin) onigiri and seaweed salad. They were each $3, which felt fair. The onigiri was just slightly above room temp and had lots of rice but scant inari filling. I would have liked to see other vegetarian onigiri options - daikon, ume, etc - though imagine it's better value for most people to opt for "premium" fillings like eel given the onigiri are all the same price. Lots of imported snacks, nonperishable and frozen grocery items, premade ramen bowls, and other temptations round out this nifty new convenience store. There's a window bar with stools to enjoy your food onsite while people-watching. Next door, there's a vendor selling friend dumplings, scallion pancakes, and more to round out your girl dinner! read more

They have a wide range from tons of Ramen ranging from buldak to shin, with two Ramen machine machines, one only producing hot water and another one that works like a stove when you purchase a bowl that they sell for a dollar. they have told me during a year that comes in the same packaging as other places and they also have a large gallery of drinks ranging from coffee to Calko. They have chocolate fruit candies, and actual Ramen. That's kinda expensive, but it's very good. The customer service is also excellent the manager J.R is very friendly and helpful to customers. I went there and I have come back a lot of time because of how cozy it is. they also have very good seating with a one long table and a window that shows you the scenery of the street outside. read more
