That being said, they def lean more into prepared, ready-to-eat and packaged foods of a typical convenience store in Japan, which makes sense for this foot traffic heavy location. They have a pretty decent selection of sushi maki rolls and nigiri, packaged desserts, hot bentos and bowls (pork katsu and gyudon), onigiri and chilled drinks. The produce they carry comes smaller bunches and packaged in plastic, they don't carry fresh meat or dairy though there are some of these items in the frozen section. Snacks, ramen, dry foods and condiments they have plenty of, as well as a small selection of bath/beauty and cute stickers and socks in the back. On this hot and humid day, I stopped in for a drink--grabbed a chilled oolong tea--and will be back to pick up some sushi rolls at some point I'm sure! Staff interaction was brief though friendly at the checkout counter.

Pick up a Coolish, which is a frozen packet of soft serve you can put on your neck to cool off before you eat it. They have microwaves and tables- if they run out of seats, go eat at DeSalvio Playground nearby. Allegedly they sell their deli, sushi, bento boxes, etc at 50% discount every night at 8pm. People come in at 7:30 and it's like Brack Friday. $10 min on credit card, so bring cash.

Sitting on the northeast edge of Astor Place, this location feels slightly larger than the K-town location, or maybe just because it's usually less crowded. Walking into the store, the fresh produce section with vegetables and fruits greets you, followed by refrigerated items like kimchi, rice cakes, tofu, chilled drinks, dairy. Around the corner are hot and packaged foods, including various duk (sweet rice cakes), baked goods, bowls and bentos to go. They've add a section in the past couple years with boxes of Korean fried chicken (kfc) from bb.q Chicken*. Next to that is a coffee and tea station where they carry pre-brewed MUD coffee and bags of roasted coffee beans by several brands. Directly ahead from the coffee station is the frozen section with everything from frozen dumplings, Korean savory/sweet pancakes, seafood, noodles and dessert, to stuffed plushy animals in the center of the frozen display (interesting place to put those). To the left towards the front of the store are aisles for bath and home goods, dryer packaged foods like noodles and snacks, they have about 2 aisles just dedicated to ramen, perfect for NYU college students on the prowl for a snack. The store is pretty clean overall well organized. Have to say they are sticklers for bringing in outside food/drinks, I think they could be a little more understanding of this especially since certain days recently have been frigid conditions outside. I came in bc the windchill was doing a number on my fingers and also to pick up a couple grocery items. While I was walking around with a nearly empty small cup of matcha latte and drinking it bc it was getting cold, they made announcements a couple times asking that no outside products could be consumed in the store. Like I get it if they were a restaurant, I wouldn't entertain the idea, but they are a supermarket with no extra space to serve or eat meals within the store. They didn't say their own internal products could not be consumed within the store so I'm assuming a concern for spills was not the motivation behind the announcement. It felt petty since a quarter of the people walking around Manhattan are holding some type of beverage in their hands, and it wasn't like I brought outside food and was having a meal. They could've been a little more understanding since the windchill was -15 degrees outside. *this fast casual kfc restaurant has several locations in the NJ/NY area. In Manhattan they have one in Ktown and one on 3rd Ave between 27th and 28th Streets.
