I was put in a situation because of some bad life choices and putting too much faith in another person. A person you can trust; is Aidan Butler! I had a business situation go south. I found that if you have housing issues, there is help and protection. Housing discrimination and unsavory landlord situations, have facilitated such services. Those services wanted nothing to do with me or my case. However; I was put in touch with the L. A. Bar Association. They were very helpful. AMAZING! I had a credit dispute with one of the big credit bureaus and knew their actions were illegal but couldn't find anyone to assist. Big firms didn't want the case and small firms were trying to charge an arm and a leg. I found Aidan by chance and am elated that I did. We connected via phone and after I explained the case he asked me to send him some backup. I quickly sent everything and was amazed that he got back to me so quickly (within 24 hours) with a willingness to take on the case. This review has been a long time coming, but better late than never. My mom has been in business for over 30 years. In 2015 she was notified that a client was leaving for another shop. When reminded of his 5 figure accounts receivable balance, the client made allegations regarding the validity of the balance and the statute of limitations. We sought counsel and were referred to Aidan by an attorney who has worked with/against Aidan in the past. After some introductory email and phone correspondence, we met with Aidan in his office in Los Angeles. Aidan was polite, attentive, and thoughtful in his meeting with us. He listened to our concerns and understood what we needed. We engaged him and proceeded with the claim against the former client. We filed suit in 2015, but the court date was repeatedly postponed until early 2019. Despite the multiple delays that occurred throughout this period, Aidan remained engaged and responsive. When the court date did come, Aidan argued our case flawlessly. In the end, we prevailed, and the former client was on the hook for the full amount, plus interest. In the spirit of full disclosure, I'd met with Aidan Butler back in June 2017. I finally wrote a review now because the way my case was handled never sat well with me. I'd been a victim of (attempted) identity theft from mail stolen out of the P.O. mailbox and it was affecting my credit big time. Once the tampered mail was confirmed to me by the Hollywood P.O., I sent duplicate payments pronto, but it still really hurt my credit rating. Getting nowhere with the lenders telling me to deal with the credit unions, then the credit unions telling me to go back and deal with the lender mortgage companies directly, I needed help. I take pride in good credit. I was referred to Mr. Butler as a specialist in consumer advocacy by one of the ladies who answered the phone at the LA Bar Association. Long story short, his advice was for ME to write letters to the credit unions (I was already in process doing this). The only thing he did was give me the addresses of these companies which turned out to be the wrong addresses. Only when I contacted the credit unions directly did I learn the correct departments and addresses. I did all the work myself, but because I had paid him his $150 fee, I asked him to at least review the letters that I wrote for any editing or comments, which he did. It was apparent to me this was not his specialty and eventually I got proper advice from a consumer advocate agency specializing in restoring credit. It still took me a FULL year to clear my good name which I ended up doing all by myself. Sadly, I did call the LA Bar for a 2nd referral, but they never followed through. On a side note, Mr. Butler had made comments about someone he had once helped but "she was a crazy woman" and it made me wonder if I ever complained, would I also be slandered as such to cover his own behind. read more

Smith for providing me with the help she could pro-Bono, and the entire team there especially by putting his name at the top of the list, for good reason. The other "lawyers" I contacted told me I either didn't have a case or their payment would fluctuate substantially if and when an agreement was made. One even suggested I contact a bankruptcy lawyer. A bankruptcy lawyer? For student loan debt?? Are you f*%#!ng kidding me??? My case: I received a subpoena for more that one lawsuit against me from a company that shall remain nameless but it rhymes with Cational Nollegiate Trudent Soan Lust. This happened early August, happy b-day to me. Today, late November and not even four months later, I sent back signed documents settling/dismissing my case amicably from a plaintiff that was prepared to sue me for the amount equal to a new car...a really nice new car. Needless to say, it was an emotional roller coaster but I was determined to fight back and man am I soo glad I did. The best decision I've made since my divorce...that was second to this. Seriously. Mind you Aidan is not cheap, as things worth their weight in gold are not cheap. But he is more than reasonable and we were able to come to payment terms that were agreeable. In the very sense of the meaning, you get what you pay for with him. Especially when it could mean, as it did in my case, that I paid him a tenth of what he saved me not even mentioning the years of heartache and headache it would've taken me to pay it all off.
