I am review from the perspective of a person who live where there is a bunch of Asian grocery stores. I am passing through and when I went in the store almost all the products sold were definitely overpriced. Almost an 80% mark up on a bunch of the items. Some of them are reasonable but others are out of this world. I suspect it's because it's the only Asian store for miles. If you're looking for Asian items I'd recommend checking Walmart or Lowe's first before coming here since you might be able to find it for a significantly lower price. For instance, the buldak ramen is sold at Aikos for 13 dollars but Walmart sells them for 7. Aikos definitely has more variety tho! The owner is nice! read more

Asian foods so close to home!! Aiko's selections are fabulous from teas, to sauces and sauce components. Plus, frozen dumplings that are out of this world!!! If you can't find something, just ask. A hidden gem in Alamo. I was able to finally find a kimchi base without having to drive far. I was happy with the ramen selection as well!

Aiko you know this is a pun. But in all seriousness this place provides Alamo a decent amount of Asian food products ranging from frozen foods, drinks, sauces and of course snacks! Located behind the tire store and an easy walk from Wal-Mart this place is a little hidden from view.But ounce found it is a pearl within the oyster sauce. Aiko may not be the biggest store but decently sized it has a little bit of everything, from an aisle of instant noodles to a section on cookware where you can get a REAL Vietnamese dripper. An isle is dedicated to sauces, and some very hard to find noodles to make some ethnic dishes like pho. With no Vietnamese restaurants within Alamogordo, this one shop gives at home chefs the chance to make the Asian classic at home. Also they have kewpie mayo, the secret to any spicy mayo found within the majority of Japanese restaurants. You want a spicy tuna roll? Mix some Kewpie with Sriracha and Presto you got some magic. Also they have some find hard to find snacks like seaweed chips from Japan and thai tea in a bottle. You never know what you will find. What had once taken a trip to El paso to retrieve is now within a short drive. The prices are priced fairly especially considering the cost of driving all the way to El Paso or Las Cruces. My only wish is that I had found this place a bit earlier. They got a decent selection with some of the hardest to find items in all of Alamogordo. It's like finding gold in the aisles read more

This is one of the few places that I'll miss when I leave Alamogordo. Everything that I've come to this store looking for, I've always found, plus more! Also the owner is incredibly friendly. Also pro tip to any vegans, I'm pretty sure this is the only place in Alamo where you can find young jackfruit in brine! read more

My favorite find this month! Aiko's carries Greek, Bulgarian, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, Chinese, Hawaiian foods, etc...small store with a great selection!! I left with Mediterranean eggplant spread, Korean BBQ sauce, a fun Japanese soda pop (it had a real marble prize inside it), Hawaiian haupia dessert and other items to introduce to my taste buds. I like their tea selection too! This place is more like an international foods store since they also have an aisle dedicated to European foods...not just Oriental/Asian foods. Locals love this place and the owner too! A lot of veterans had come in specifically to speak with her. Very welcoming & comfortable setting...pleasant just to be there. read more

Aiko's is definitely not the best international food store in the world, but in a town as small as Alamo, you gotta take what you can get, and be glad it's even there! As the name states, it predominately carries Asian foods, but you will also find other items from other cultures as well. The hours are pretty short so make sure to verify the hours before heading out there, especially from Holloman. Yes, I did that. Lol. I really enjoyed shopping here. I wish they had more of a variety of foods and more in-stock. However, with it being the only oriental food store still in business within Alamogordo, it's an excellent place to shop. The owner is fantastic and I'd definitely go there again to shop.
