But after looking into five different local companies I realized that each had pros and cons. The super expensive SunPower panels wouldn't get me the same return on investment and the guys who came in with the lowest prices promised warranties to match the big guys, but I couldn't trust that they would stay in business for the entire term (so what's the point??). After weighing my options, Vivint started to float to the top. I like that they are publicly traded and are a nation-wide company, and that they have a fund set aside for warranties that will be there no matter what happens to them. I also like that they have quality panels that aren't overpriced. I ended up purchasing the panels from them for my current house and am really happy with how it's going. The salesman has been very communicative and has answered all my questions in a timely manner. I have a home built in 1941 and they are even going to update my breaker box (hallelujah! It's been rough...). They even had an option for my rental that didn't cost me a dime to install and allows her to have lower rates for power. Kudos to the city of Visalia for being really quick with the permit process! Vivint installed that system in a day only a few weeks after I agreed to the terms! Everybody that came out from the guy who checked the roof to the install team was really nice. I couldn't be happier with their professionalism and customer service. I cant wait to start seeing the savings on my bill! Thanks Vivint Solar!

Hello, I want to share my experience with Nova West Energy. While I was in the market to add a…read moresolar system to work alongside my existing one, I interviewed about seven different companies. I took my time researching, reading reviews, evaluating customer service, and even checking the Better Business Bureau. After all of that, I narrowed it down to two companies, Nova Energy and another local company in Fresno.Ultimately, I chose the other company because they hold a roofing license as well. This was very important to me due to a previous bad experience with SolarCity damaging my roof and not fixing it. I ended up fixing it out of pocket. That being said, Nova Energy truly stood out. Justin took the time to thoroughly educate me and presented a very well-designed system tailored to my needs. Honestly, I would have gone with them if it weren't for my prior experience and specific concerns. What impressed me most is that they genuinely care about their customers. Even knowing I was comparing multiple companies, they were patient, transparent, and focused on making sure I understood exactly what I needed for my home. Even after I told Justin I had decided to go with another company, he still took the time to make sure I was fully informed. He reviewed key details with me such as solar panel quality, system performance stats, degradation rates, and the difference between kW and kWh, just to ensure I was making the best decision for my home. That level of professionalism and integrity really stood out. In today's world, many companies treat business as just a transaction, sell a product and move on. Nova Energy is different. They take the time to understand your needs, educate you, and guide you without pressure. Their approach is honest, professional, and customer centered. Their pricing is very competitive, and they don't try to oversell. Instead, they explain your actual energy usage and make sure you don't overproduce unnecessarily. That level of integrity is rare. They also have excellent reviews, offer a strong 25-year roof warranty, and clearly stand behind their work. Even though they didn't end up installing my system, I believe my hesitation around roofing, despite them having a 25 roofing policy, was more related to my previous negative experience and my need for extra reassurance. If anything, if you are in the market for a solar system, I strongly recommend giving Justin a call. He is honest in his evaluation, does not try to oversell, and takes the time to answer every question you may have.

This was the only solar company that asked the right questions about my existing system to provide sound professional advice, instead of just trying to sell me something. This is the company to get your solar through!…read more I was interested in getting solar installed at some point, so a friend of mine referred this company to me. The first person to contact me was Matthew Payne, one of their sales reps, and he is the primary reason we choose to do business with Energy Concepts, and even solar altogether! He's a talker, that's for sure, but throughout the course of the conversations he gave me all the info I would have wanted and/or needed to feel comfortable and confident in my purchase decision. The first time we met, he was on time, prepared to give me a well thought out presentation, and willing spend as much time as I needed. Before the meeting, he had already drawn up multiple options on leasing/purchasing, different brand panels and equipment, various timeframe finance options, and was able to quickly break down what each option meant to me and my needs. What I really appreciated was that he was not pushing me towards one specific option or brand, he wasn't pushing me to buy a larger system than what I needed, and didn't use any nonsense "used car salesman" tactics. He followed up with me a few days later, and we came to a deal. At this point I assumed it would just become a standard contractor job, wrong. The excellent service continued well past the time I said "yes" to the sale. Everything at this company is in house, all the finance folks, the installers, sales folks; they all work for the same company, and therefore there was never a sense of "that's not my job" from any level. Additionally, there was a great sense of continuity across the teams. The sales admin, Kerri Lawler, was the next person I interacted with. She was excellent. She emailed me every single week to update me on the progress of my permits/ordering/design layout/install date. Even if she didn't have big news, she'd updated me as to where we stood on my system. I never once got the feeling that I was lost in the system, or just another sale. She served as an excellent intermediary between the sales rep and the install team. The final piece of the experience was the system install. The design had previously been drawn up by their in house designer, so when the installers showed up they reviewed with me the pans they already had, and what they were looking to accomplish that day. The team was lead by Justin Semrick, who was an absolutely pleasure to interact with! He was polite, professional, and very much aimed to please. I was adamant about not having conduit running across the roof, I really wanted the panels to appear as if they were floating on the roof. Apparently, that was less than easy to accomplish; but on the job site, Justin and Wallie Tavares figured out a way to make it happen. What was likely to take just an hour or so took closer to 2 1/2 because of the complexities. Any other company would have noped right out of there, but once I said I wanted it, Justin and Wallie were determined to make it happen. Fast forward to end of the install, I was EXTREMELY pleased with the work they did. It looks flawless, not a single piece of conduit on the roof, and the floating panel look I was really looking for. Furthermore, they didn't leave a mess anywhere, cleaned and painted everything they put up, and made the install look like it came with the house. Before they left they showed me all the equipment, how it all worked, and what the next steps with the city would be (which they all set up, throughout the entire process I did not have to do a single thing with the city/PG&E, it was all handled by Energy Concepts) This company truly did an outstanding job. Their service was far above par, and they all worked with the collective vision that their job was to EARN my business. I cannot recommend them enough!! TL;DR This company is incredible. If you're thinking about solar, go through them and let them wow you!

When I called mySolarEdge to ask why I did not get consistent notifications, they said it was because the installer, Solar Negotiators, had put themselves as the "owner admin" and receive the notifications. They also informed me that these notifications are free as they are part of the app. I called Solar negotiators back and I was informed that they do get notifications from mySolarEdge. They initially stated that it was my responsibility to inform them of when my solar panels are not working so that they can repair it. However, when I reminded them that I do not even get notifications from my app because they are the owner admin, they admitted that they do receive notifications for my system and that they would normally catch it and reach out to me to repair it. They also stated that they have been busy over the Spring and therefore had not been able to address the issue in a timely manner. They advised me to send them a tru-up bill in order to receive reimbursement. I reached out to a representative on June 4th and provided them with my tru-up bill. However, they would not provide me with any updates or status changes unless I prompted them with emails. Finally, after my fifth prompt, I received an email from a customer representative informing me that I was responsible for notifying them of any loss of power and they would not be able to reimburse me at this time. This is completely different than what I was told on the phone previously. I believe this company was using misinformation and delayed responses in order to not address my issue. In addition, I was never informed that they had control over my account, which I believe is a tactic to force me to either consider paying an additional cost for their monitoring app, "Know Tru-up", or risk not get reimbursed when my system loses power without my knowledge. Edit: Cindy, the Chief Administrative Officer, did reach out to me and was very pleasant in trying to help me. She reached out to Solaredge and was also informed by them that Solar Negotiators did have full administrative access and that they could grant it to me. She attempted to work with making that change but nothing has occurred in the past two weeks. My review still stands but I do appreciate leadership taking accountability and trying to remedy the situation.

I am extremely disappointed with A1 Contractors and the solar system they installed at my home. The…read moresystem cost me about $60,000 in cash, and not only does it fail to work properly, it is actually costing me extra money every single day. Without my authorization and without any programming on my part, the system charges the batteries to 100% using grid power during peak pricing hours (4-9 PM). That means I'm paying double for electricity I don't even need. A solar system should save money--not create new expenses. I have been reporting this issue for over two months, and all I've received is the runaround. Not once has A1 Contractors called me back at the time they promised. Not once has EG4 returned a single call or message, despite repeated attempts on my part. All I get are excuses, delays, and empty promises while the problem continues and my bills keep climbing. At this point, my lawyer is compiling documentation and preparing a case. I will also be filing a complaint with the Contractors Board and reporting several additional concerns. This is not the route I wanted to take, but A1 Contractors has left me no choice. I tried being patient, reasonable, and cooperative, but it's clear that nobody there seems to care about resolving the issue or supporting their customers after installation. I would strongly caution anyone considering this company. My experience has been nothing but frustration, financial loss, and complete lack of accountability. UPDATE: the system is not working well, I have the screenshots and the electricity bill to prove it. No one there seems to understand the way I explain it. So here is another attempt. If it's a sunny day and the battery charges up to near full capacity, everything works great. If it's cloudy/overcast (this happened for weeks at a time in winter) the system will kick on and charge my batteries to full capacity AT PEAK HOURS. No matter if I need it or not I buy 45kilo watts of electricity from the grid at PEAK HOURS even if I am not going to use it. It's doing the opposite of what peak shaving is supposed to do. For you to state that you have been monitoring my system is not accurate. Not once have you called me to discuss this. I called you and you promised to look into it and you explained the issues EG4 is having with customer service... but you haven't called me. I will update this honest review when I get resolution. 3rd update: I have waited a month and still no call from A-1 and now resolution it now April 14 2026 4th update: today is April 27 and it was cloudy enough to allow my batteries to drain below 50%. As you can see by the picture it's just past 4:00pm (peak hours) and the system is pulling almost 10,000 watts from the grid to charge the batteries even though I haven't set it this way. As the sun goes down the draw hit of 12000 watts of the grid. At the most expensive time of the days. Does this look like my system is working properly, Manual?

I reached out to Adam multiple times asking why I was not seeing my consumption. After the 3rd attempt, they came back to tell me that there was no space in my panel. This is 6 weeks after install. I asked them why I was not informed at the time of install, I got no answer. I was told this is not "part of their contracted service". After few more attempts Russ finally acknowledged they had missed informing the customer that portions of the system could not be installed. I went ahead and found a potential workaround from another electrician. When presented to Russ, he said they'll discuss internally to attempt to fix it. After that, complete silence again. After 4 more follow ups, finally Russ responds that they will do nothing about it. I could go ahead and pay myself to get someone to do it, and then they may not honor warranty.
