My central air conditioner stopped working last night. Today, 07/11/2021, was supposed to be 115° and I didn't think anyone would be available on a Sunday during a record breaking heat wave. The heat made it difficult to sleep so I got up early and started searching for a repair person. It was 5:20 am. I called Performance on a whim hoping someone would be there and Rigo answered. I was more embarrassed than anything because it was so early but I asked him if I could get service today. Rigo asked me some questions and then made some suggestions. He said he was booked solid but he gave me the number of another person and said to give him a call and that if I didn't get something set up with him, he would come out later that night. After some more researching I figured I'd be able to do the repair myself. I found the part and replaced it. It was exactly what Rigo had diagnosed over the phone. I'd already finished the repair when the phone rang and it was Rigo. He asked if I talked to the other company and if not he'd stop by on his way back. I said no, and that I actually fixed it myself. He kind of chuckled and said "all right!" Rigo is a class act. His books were filled solid but in the best interest of the customer, he suggested another shop. He could have easily booked me the next day and made the money himself. You just don't find people like this very often. Someone who obviously puts his customers needs first. Riggo is the best! We called him to evaluate our dual air conditioning system at our home. Another major competitor told us we needed both air conditioning systems replaced due to a coil leak on both. They estimated $38,000 expense. After seeing reviews for Riggo, we requested a full evaluation. He found the system in the attic was still factory sealed and had not ever been accessed. He also found a small part removed from tubing and laying on the ground. During the very last week of April 2024 heading into May, just as local temperatures in the Central Valley (of CA) were beginning their annual preliminary rise, my AC system totally failed. A burning smell started coming through the vents of our house so we turned off our A/C right away and started looking for a repairman. Rigo responded to our Yelp inquiry within the hour of my request said he'd come first thing tomorrow morning! At first, we were worried because of the July 4th holiday weekend that we wouldn't get anyone to come out for a couple days, but Rigo responded on July 3rd, and came on July 4th holiday!
