I've been a loyal tanning customer for years, previously with Suntans to Go, and recently switched…read moreto Palm Beach due to its convenient location and the promise of a great experience. For my first visit a few days ago my experience was good, thanks to OG's expertise (his name is Chris) in guiding me through starting my tanning process, similar to the excellent care I received from Tommy at my previous salon visits. I have light skin, and they both ensured I achieved a beautiful, natural tan without any burns. However, today's visit was a complete disaster. Without OG's guidance (because he wasn't there), the tanning bed I used malfunctioned and overheated, causing it to shut off mid-session. Immediately, my face became extremely red, and my eyelids swelled up. Now, my entire body is burning and severely red, plus I'm starting to get chills. When I reported the issue to the front desk girl, her response was dismissive, simply stating that "the beds get hot" and attributing the problem to the newness of the equipment compared to Tommy's older beds. I'm not comfortable being told "they get hot" when clearly the machine displayed an over-temperature error and shut itself down mid-session. That error in the picture indicates a safety threshold was exceeded, the unit needs to be inspected before it's used again. I understand UV causes burns, but the excess heat from the canopy overheating definitely amplified the inflammatory response and increased the severity of my skin burn reaction. A safety cutoff should not be considered normal and should not have been brushed off casually. Not to mention with this type of skin burn I can't even visit the salon again in 24 hrs. I probably have to wait a full week or two after paying nearly $200 for the month and some products and $125 starting next month which cannot be canceled until after they charge the $125. Can't take a hot shower, can't workout, can't throw a blanket on. Fingers crossed I don't develop any blisters. The fact that the beds are new and the prices are higher doesn't justify the lack of proper care and attention. The personalized guidance I received from Tommy and OG is unmatched, and I never experienced burns with Tommy's "old orbit bed" and had the most beautiful tan, I would get so many compliments! My process was always comfortable. I also will be checking in with all my referrals. The salon didn't even offer any remedies for my burned skin. While I plan to continue visiting and seeking OG's assistance because I'm stuck there for two months. I want to warn others to exercise caution and specifically request OG's guidance to avoid a similar incident. I'll update this review with OG's name soon. Iykyk. - I also read other reviews that it is very difficult to cancel membership and they keep charging even after you cancel. Truly hoping this is not the case. I will most definitely be keeping you updated. - btw let me add, when OG is gone I'm out and I want my money back. And the only reason they get an additional star is not because they are fancy, it's because of Chris.
