Fantastic boutique hotel located right on the lagoon in Bacalar. I would recommend either a king size bed or two doubles/twins to get a nice patio area. The open-air dining area serves water and coffee all day and the complimentary breakfast consisted of fruit plate, choice of eggs, bread and local preserves. In this case, it was green and red tomato jams. They do offer massages and cold plunge baths in addition to the hot tub. Price-wise, eh, it's about the same as what you would pay back home. If I recall, massages were like $120 for 90 minutes or so? I was there during Hurricane Nadine so the massages were not offered as everything is open air. Despite being there during torrential downpours, the room was large enough and the patio area was sheltered enough to make the stay enjoyable.
There is a small infinity pool and there are two stand up paddle boards for use. Service is with a smile and very accommodating. There is a small area to park otherwise there is plenty of street parking. Unfortunately you can't really walk to the small downtown area but it is less than a 10 minute drive. Highly recommend! read more
