We were in the neighborhood and decided to go check it out. The parking spots are pretty cool to start (we are from Illinois). I like that most are in the shade. There is an area for learning with some air plane wings and a place to sit and chill. Walk a bit further and there is a waterfall. Wasn't moving a lot of water the day we went, but it was still a good photo. We walked out a bit further and didn't see anything more but an open path for walking. This place is a perfect little picture spot. If you know where to go (secret!), it's easy to find a cozy corner of the creek to have a quiet brunch picnic or you can use the main trail to pass by lots of big families enjoying their afternoon out. The main falls area is best enjoyed in the early morning when there isn't a drought of any severity, as it dries up pretty easily. You'll hear lots of planes on the nearby airbase but it's only annoying if you don't live around here. Before the pandemic, this place was a true hidden gem but it has become more crowded since then, even with the world's tiniest and easily missed parking lot acting as population control. I'll always love this park and going for photo ops but I miss when it was overlooked. read more

Needed to get out for some exercise in order to rehab my back after screwing it up. Figured the best way to do so was in finding a city park and enjoying what it had to offer. I have never been here before and really enjoyed the layout of the parking, tables, and the informational signage. There were two historical signs that I found very appropriate. I walked all the way to the first "waterfall", and, of course, I took a lot of pictures. The walkways are part of the larger Trinity Trails, so I can imagine they go out for quite a distance. If you decided to walk farther than yours truly, please bring water and comfortable footwear. Most of the trail was shaded, and I enjoyed foliage and plants. There were other people out here as well. I'll definitely come back. read more

Meh on this park. First off, parking is a hassle -- there's very little parking directly at the park, so you have to drive down the road, park at the visitor center, and then hoof it back to the park (on a road with no sidewalk -- fun). It started out promising, with a nice meander through the trees and along a cute little stream. But that magic didn't last long. Pretty quickly, it turned into a full-sun, no-shade trek under a busy road alongside a canal -- complete with several dead fish floating in the water (yikes). We really wished we had brought a trash bag because the amount of litter was depressing. Seriously, who goes out to "commune with nature" only to trash it? Deadbeats. Also, it was surprisingly crowded -- at least on the short, shaded part -- which made it feel less like a peaceful nature walk and more like a congested walking trail. Overall, not the best place to get your zen on. read more

A lovely waterfall in Fort Worth!! This is a nice place along the Trinity Trails in Fort Worth. The area near the waterfall is perfect for a picnic. There were actually two ladies enjoying cheese & wine when we walked the trail. There are also some benches in the area. When you first start walking along the creek, it's impossible to not notice all the trash along the water. That's sad. It seems as though a parks service crew could be sent to clean it up. As you walk farther along the trail, it's a lot cleaner. It was nice to envision how this part of the trail connects to other parts. Here, the trail is totally flat, but is conducive to a nice powerwalk, run, family outing, etc. You could even walk to your favorite lunch spot as you cross 183 or White Settlement. My hubby took some pics of the signs at the park entrance which give you some interesting information on the conservation efforts in the park, as well as the original airfield. read more

Everyone enjoys the great outdoors and water, I think. I saw pictures of the waterfall from other yelpers and had to go see them myself. When we pulled in, even the parking lot is outdoor art. Really interesting how they did this. The entrance has a huge art piece representing an airplane. Very cool. Several signs give you some info on the park. It's about a 1/4 mile walk to the falls. As others have said, you definitely want to go right after it has rained, so the falls will be roaring! Since we're in the middle of a dry spell, the water was very low and barely flowing. But that's ok, it's still a beautiful place. There were lots of people out, walking and biking. All the paths are concrete and very flat, making for a very easy walk. You'll love this place. Beautiful views. We walked only about half a mile because we had other errands but really wanted to check this place out. The weather was perfect and walking across the bridges was lovely. Airfield Falls Conservation Park has very limited parking space, but once you manage to find a spot you'll be able to see the tail of their very prominent plane.  From the lot, there's a short easy trail you can follow to see things up close and personal :-) Over and above the aircraft, the waterfall here is lovely and the trail that runs by the river is quite enjoyable.   The trail runs through flowers, and you'll see honeybees and butterflies as you follow it.  This is a great place to enjoy a weekend afternoon outing! read more

This is an outstanding place for a family walk. It's flat, paved, and stroller friendly, but still manages to maintain the beauty of the nature. When you're on the path along the river you really feel far removed from the city and roads. The pathway is bordered by steep grassy hills that the kids love to climb up and roll down. There are multiple spots along the way where it's easy to climb down and skip rocks in the river or dip your feet in if it's hot. When we went, it was too cold to walk in the waterfall, but I imagine there will be quite a crowd in there when it heats up. There were some bicyclists, but all considerate, leisure riders. None of those racing types who think a paved walking path is their own personal freeway. The parking lot is SMALL. There's a portapotty and drinking fountain at the entrance. The waterfall is probably a quarter mile in. There is some shade from the trees on the way to the waterfall, but from there on it's full sun. Great, free fun for the family. read more

This place is just beautiful! We stayed and played in the water for a good 3 hours on a hot March day early Covid. We opened up some areas where the water wasn't flowing and bogging up with Ick which is a great work out. The kids loved walking along the waterfall with our RBT. Great time! I didn't know what to expect. Im someone that is just learning how to be friends with nature. The entrance really followed through with the airport theme. The parking was small too so there isn't a big crowd. We came on Saturday it was raining on and off so I don't know if that contributed to the small amount of people there. We were able to go through stretches without anyone around. It is very quiet there. You forget you are surrounded by city elements. There were plenary of picnic tables only in the entrance and a few sitting benches by the waterfall. That's right waterfall. It looks so refreshing but smells fishy and if you walk along upstream direction you can tell this is creek water and it's very polluted, it's no wonder I saw no fish. The trail is paved and shaded in areas. Not enough trash cans along the way. read more

Saw on fb the westside dogpark had warning of someone putting antifreeze in water or in area... after I took my pups to airfield park this morning and found antifreeze bottle by waterfalls. This area is so far inside the park that it is possible someone was up to no good. Just a warning folks. Threw away the bottle, as I usually try to pick up trash as I go cuz some peeps are just jerks. Did not consider the bottle anything more than litter till my kid sent me fb post concerning antifreeze at zbones. Just keep an eye out...so thankful we have had rain, maybe it will dilute that crap. Waterfalls were so beautiful and the rushing sound so relaxing. read more

This park/walking trail is beautiful. I took my 6 and 2 year old just for the falls and we didn't have to go to far in until we arrived. I HIGHLY recommend wearing water shoes and bringing a change of clothes. Rating it a 4 because there are a few stagnant brown ponds (probably unavoidable) and some trash that previous visitors have left. Overall it gave us great memories to remember and enjoy. read more

Nice paved multi-use trail in the middle of an urban area. The Falls were more of a trickle after the dry summer the area had, but you can still see plenty of wildlife like turtles and different species of fish. Go early as the small parking lots fills up quickly. read more

Who knew there is a natural water fall in Fort Worth. The park with trails and bridges is pretty new. Nice wildflowers along the path leading to the water fall. I suggest you go right after or during it rains. Pics were taken one day after rain...i am not sure how much water 'falls' in time it didn't just rain. Beautiful location! Visited for the first time on a surprise trip that happened to be when my (now husband) proposed. There had been weeks of pouring rain in May and it let up enough that day for us to walk 10 minutes down the Trinity River. The waterfall was raging and absolutely beautiful. Now that the construction is complete, it makes our trips much easier and quicker to get to the waterfall! A must see! read more

This place is a hidden gem! A friend told me about it and showed me pictures, so I had to come check it out for myself. A short little walk down the trail from the parking lot and there is a swimming hole with some waterfalls that you can wade in. My kids and I splashed around and played for at least an hour. Great free fun during the hot Texas summers! read more

A great little spot to take the family. I'll give you three downsides before getting into the good stuff. 1. Not a lot of trash cans. 2. Stagnant water in places. Just looked nasty, but not much one can do. 3. Parking - there isn't much. That's about it for the bad stuff. Everything else was great. The main swimming hole area was really cool. The kids enjoyed it. We were there for almost three hours and they still didn't want to leave. I'm sure it is a lot better after heavy rains, but still looking forward to going back later this summer. read more

Great local park for kids and adults. Nice walking trails(paved) and if you go all the way down towards the left. There is a small waterfall and clear water you can swim in. It's very shallow so kids can easily swim. A sweet jet is right by the parking lot and makes for excellent photos read more

Cool spot. Some trash. Lots of gnats. Lots of golf balls in the water. A cool spot to take portrait photos but you have to be able to do a little climbing to get down by the waterfall. This would not be safe for small children. Pretty high drop offs and large cracks. read more
