Marine Creek Lake is a 250-acre no wake lake (more tranquil waters) which provides a welcome, peaceful respite from hectic city life. The 6-mile trail adjacent to the lake offers walking and running opportunities. At the lake, boating/kayaking/canoeing, swimming and fishing--with catfish here and there and bass on the riprap--are some of the main activities people participated in. After researching various parks in and around the Fort Worth area for a recent visit, I decided on Marine Creek Lake. Although unconventional in the park area, I also think the Marine Creek Lake area has everything I enjoy re: parks like verdure, beautiful landscapes, lots of trees, cool people, places to relax and interesting activities. Personally, one of my favorite activities was just walking along the deck and looking out at the lake waters and everything in the background. I met, rather serendipitously, two cool people who were also visiting Marine Creek Lake. One guy was there mainly to fish and let me borrow his fishing pole but all I caught was some seaweed-like aquatic plants, which he said is more than what he caught. (Haha) In the beginning of each try, I could feel something substantial and heavy underwater, but no dice. Another person was there walking his Chihuahua-Corgi mix named Finny. Parking here was easy, as I recall. The Marine Creek Lake area wasn't crowded, so the adjacent parking lot had lots of spaces available on a Saturday morning. This is a park close to my house which I've never came to. This is a great hike for anyone who…read morewants something difficult or beginner. It's a little bit of a windy road to get to it if you go to the back way like I did. There is some beautiful views of the lake on a couple of the terms you also might want to take a nap because my granddaughter and I almost got lost. She also tried to kill me by forcing me up this very steep hill. All in all, it's a great place and I can't wait to return. This time of year is great for watching the sunset.

Lots of pretty views along the trails…read more Speaking of the trails, they are definitely made for mountain bikers, but there were a couple of other couples hiking like us. The trails are rocky & hilly, so if you are hiking, do so in good shoes. I kept slipping in my regular gym shoes, but it was pretty and fun. We didn't stay very long because we came during the latter part of the day. It was our first time here and since we are unfamiliar with the trails, we didn't want to get "lost." We will definitely be back to explore this park more.

After the gate is closed if you need to be let out, you have to call the police. But there's so much to do here! Not just the swimming area! There's a hiking trail, playground and walking trails. Beautiful views and plenty of space to social distance yourself. The trails are available for no fee as far as I could tell, but the swimming area near WhoaZone is $5. They do not take cash, only debit/credit card. The swimming area has a playground and picnic areas. I think there's a spot to cast your kayaks off over there too, but I stayed near the beach and didn't explore anything else. I saw vehicles with kayaks going over on the other side. If you have water shoes, I'd say bring them and a beach umbrella as there's no shade. The sand isn't too uncomfortable to lie in, there's just cigarette butts here and there. But I definitely recommend visiting for the day or even camping if you're into it!

Someone recommended this to me as a "sandy beach". It is a beach, and there is some sand, but the…read moreshore is probably a 50/50 mix of packed dirt and sharp pebbles. OUCH! The rock bottom extends out a couple of yards into the water, where it turns to clay. For swimmers, the rockiness is less of an issue - get past the rocks and swim/float your heart out, but the rocks along the shore make it significantly less enjoyable for babies. Running along the shore and splashing in the shallow water is painful without water shoes. For a true SANDY BEACH, check out Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake or Little Elm on Lake Lewisville instead. Twin Points is nicer, if you're deciding between the two. Pros: it's a pretty spot, with nice views. Plenty of parking - $5 per car. CREDIT/DEBIT ONLY. There is a dock for jumping off (which we didn't notice until we were leaving, sadly!). Not very crowded on a Saturday in August. Pretty clean, other than the bathrooms. Alcohol permitted (or if not permitted, certainly not regulated). Days swimming at the lake are SO MUCH FUN! Aside from the rocky shore, the only big negative was how gross the bathrooms were. We were there pretty early, so clearly they aren't cleaned daily. Also, the whoa zone is SO EXPENSIVE!!!! It looks fun but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people pay that much to be there. It's $22 a person for ONE HOUR! Mon-Thurs they also offer a $50 all day pass. For our family of 7, I consider that cost prohibitive. Overall, it was a fun day at the lake, but Meadowmere Park is just not the best DFW has to offer.

I'll start this review by saying, make sure there was no rain prior. This place makes Lake Placid look like a dried up pothole. I will give them a thumbs up though, they added a swim area. It's a 5 foot blue pool from Walmart. Nice adder. They did add as well a obstacle course. That's pretty cool. I was thinking about me running it if I wouldn't get stuck in the tube. The entire property is secured by a large white privacy fence and a 6 foot cyclone fence. The grass is well maintained and the trimmings also. It does have a nice shaded area with a bench for us people. It has three bag areas for the poop. Trash cans right below it. There some shaded trees in the middle that give comfort from the scorching heat. They do have a large and small dog.

Nonetheless, I was very impressed with the well-kept and clean grounds of the park. There was a lot offered for kids and plenty of tables for the adults. This particular park may be out of the way, but it is worth the effort to visit.
