I don't understand what is going on, but people down here are weird about the rain. Coming from a place that thrives on recycling, the New Orleans area has been quite the bitter pill. They seem to make it difficult to recycle. Looking for this location is difficult. Allied waste management services is the name of the company. The first entrance looks like its for the corporate office. The second entrance is for the trucks to come and bring recycling. The third entrance is not marked, but has two bins for single stream recycling. If you have a large load, turning around might be a bit tight, but can be done to load out of the truck or trailer. Louisiana is renown for destroying the environment. Even if this is a load of crap, and this company doesn't actually recycle anything, it makes me feel better to think I am contributing to a better future here is not much information on their website about the hours, or their location, But I am assuming it is a safe bet to assume they are open week days during normal business hours.

The next yard looks like a driveway with three containers and a sign that has the schedule. Here is the deal, if you can manage backing into the driveway, that is the most efficient means to open up your vehicle trunk or climb into the bed of your truck and unload everything into the container of your choice. No need to put paper products in one container or anything; just toss all the stuff in the container and be done with it. Mornings are usually busy, so that is a hassle.

So I decided to find a place to recycle them. I live in a suburb of New Orleans. The city of New Orleans does recycling of electronics, but only to residents of the city. The parish I live in is questionable with recycling, let alone that of electronics. Scrolling thru Google, I saw this place about halfway down, so I emailed them not expecting any response until business hours the next day. Two hours before they were scheduled to open, the owner emailed me. We carried on an email conversation where she confirmed that they can recycle for $5, removal of the hard drive by them would be an additional $5, then $3 for destruction of the hard drive. $30 minimum cost. So the grand total for my two would be $26, but they also offered to take my cheap dollar store calculators for recycling since there was a $30 minimum. I came after I got off work. I was greeted at the door, welcomed in and taken care of quickly. I was in and out in five minutes. Amazing customer service. Woman owned and operated. I can not recommend this high enough. I will be back when I have more electronics to dispose of. There is even a certificate they give you as proof they have destroyed the hard drive. As curious as I am of the process of recycling electronics, that is a question for another day. Maybe I should email them and ask.

This multiroom warehouse offers a plethora of bits and bobs from donated and gathered home improvement wares. One time I picked up an old door, an old timey facet head and some hinges. From these super economical finds, I was able to fabricate a garden gate, using the faucet as a creative spin on a traditional doorknob or latch. I love it. Recently, I eye spied, a partially used tub of tile adhesive and several random tiles. They'd be the perfect solution with someone with a tiny bathroom or counter top that needed sprucing up. You can find doors, windows, screen, light fixtures, tiles, wood, paint, and a whole host of parts that you can't pick up at any big box store. Think of the green project like a thrift store for your house or creative endeavor. Be patient and diligent, as it can be hit or miss.

I've been a customer for over 5-years and have made many donations as well as many purchases. I intended to buy a pallet of flooring; I gave my credit card to the cashier to pay for the flooring; I made a hasty decision because I was leaving town in a few days, then I changed my mind. On Sunday, the following day the stored was closed, I made contact with one of the stores workers by the name of Jerome. I told him I decided not to buy the flooring and requested my credit card be credited back to me for the $1980. On Monday I called and asked if I needed to bring my card to the store for the 1980 refund. I spoke to the Manager by the name of Jasmine; she informed me that they don't give refunds. Of course, I thought that was ridicules because I hadn't even removed anything from the store and proceeded to call the credit card company and file a claim for the $1980 to be refunded. Credit One gave me a temporary refund, I left town a few days later, when I returned, I still didn't think there was a problem until May 6, 2026, the day my bank reversed the credit claim, and I owed my creditor $1980. Since then, I've made attempt after another trying to recover those funds and I have not been successful. At this time my credit account is past due, and I refuse to pay for something I did not receive. The Green project sold the flooring to someone else. The manager Jasmine told my creditor that I had picked up the flooring and also told them there was a large, posted sign stating, "no refund policy", but this is not true, there was no sign at all posted. The Green Project knows very well I did not pick up the flooring, and they should've simply refunded my card. Basically, this is theft.

Republic has paired up with the parish and Glass Half Full to have recycling drop off every Saturday (for now). Which eats into my adventuring time, but that is ok.

Absolutely the worst business trash service we have ever used. Tried everything to resolve issues…read moreand they have weekly missed pickups with no resolve, monthly erroneous billing errors with no resolve, the drivers are very rude and customer service and our local rep are of ZERO help. I really do not like having to write this review but with 3 locations that they service for us we are desperate to get some response or change for other businesses who contract their services. Please do better in the future Republic.... and I was forced to HIT 1 STAR to POST !!
