The event space is spacious and beautiful, with plenty of room for our decorations, dining tables, entertainment, and dancing. Since there was no other event scheduled that day, we were generously allowed to decorate in advance, which made our preparation much easier and less stressful. The kitchen area and available food warmers were also very convenient for serving our large group of guests. Dennis was friendly, professional, and very easy to communicate with. He clearly explained all the available options, answered our questions, and offered helpful suggestions throughout the planning process. Ariana was also extremely helpful. She assisted us with the room layout, open-bar arrangements, and room discounts for our guests. Her recommendations helped us use the space effectively and made the entire celebration run smoothly. We are very grateful to the entire team for helping us create such a beautiful and memorable 80th birthday celebration for our Nanay. You can't bring in water bottles with water in them. No jewelry or even an Apple Watch on the slides. I forgot my phone in the car, and was only allowed to get it when the manager escorted me. The workers were nice enough about enforcement, but it all got a little tiring after awhile. This is a municipal park, not DisneyWorld. Chill. As for the park itself, it's fine. A big (not particularly deep) pool, surrounded by 3 slides (one for tykes, another for under 7, and the grandaddy of them all, which is towering). There was plenty of space for sitting and umbrellas. The bathrooms are clean, the pool and slides are well maintained and there are lifeguards everywhere. The water is ice cold, and there are vending machines. Outside food is allowed (maybe this is just due to covid, there was a grille but it was closed), but don't get cute trying to sneak in liquor because they do search your bags thoroughly. I get the sense the city really cares about this facility and treats it accordingly. But check beforehand. Weekends are for city residents ONLY. Nobody from outside MoCo is allowed in, and they will check your ID to confirm. For some reason, I was only charged $6 (the city rate) instead of $11 (I like in Silver Spring) so that admittedly influenced my rating. I might have been a but harsher (because rules) had I paid full cost. My kids (ages 9 and 12) got a bit bored after awhile, but for the price, this isn't a bad way to blow an afternoon.

The bar and place for food buffets is outside...great for warm weather but not cold. The outdoor toilets flood so be aware. Nice large tent for guests but in cold weather don't depend on warmth from the heater as the door outside stays open a lot. Seems like a nice place to hold weddings with space but caveats beware.

Maria not only offered her opinions and suggestions but also gave me feedback on ideas that we were playing with and or considering. Communication and service was top tier as she checked in with me throughout the weeks leading up to the events and most important days of our lives. We also chose delivery and she arrived promptly every single time! She knocked it out of the park on all of our expectations and she's just a wonderful person to work with. My wife was so pleased with the bouquet and boutonniere used for our special wedding events. The pictures speak for themselves! Maria even sent pictures of the bouquet beforehand to ensure we loved what we saw. Because of why we were there we didn't try the indoor pool, gym or restaurant but they looked nice. We did have some issues with the small things like turning down the A/C-seriously who has the A/C turned up in mid-March? And the in room coffee maker was not funvctional. It would be only a call to fix but the fact they were unaware of it before hand says something about the place too. The bathroom was oddly laid out with the toilet paper not within easy reach of the toilet, my wife was forced to move a roll onto the vanity just to have it convenient. Overall it wasn't a bad stay and the reason for the stay might have colored by overall views but it was neither good nor bad. it was. Just that, it was.

On the morning of checkout, we carried one load of our belongings downstairs and then immediately returned to our room to get the rest. While we were downstairs, housekeeping entered our room and took the donuts. We had NOT finished removing our belongings from the room, had not turned in our keys, and had not checked out. When I brought this to the manager's attention, his first proposed solution was to speak with housekeeping and retrieve the donuts for us. I explained that I was not comfortable serving young children food that had been removed from our room, taken elsewhere, and handled by other people. They then offered to provide breakfast sandwiches from the hotel kitchen. While I appreciate that an alternative was offered, we had a tournament game in approximately 40 minutes and needed to leave. More importantly, our team had eaten dinner at the hotel the previous night and it took over TWO HOURS for our food to arrive. Given that experience, waiting for the kitchen to prepare breakfast for the team when we needed to get to a game was simply not a realistic solution. I asked the manager for a $40 credit so that we could quickly replace the donuts that housekeeping had taken and get our children to their game on time. He refused. That is the part of this experience that bothers me the most. Mistakes happen. If housekeeping mistakenly believed we had left and removed the donuts, I can understand how that could happen. What I cannot understand is management refusing such a simple and reasonable resolution. We were still guests occupying that room. Hotel employees removed approximately $40 worth of our property before we had checked out. We were not asking for an excessive refund or a free night--we asked for the cost of replacing what their employees had taken. Returning food after it had been removed and handled by housekeeping was not appropriate when that food was intended for six- and seven-year-old children. Waiting for the hotel kitchen was not feasible when we had a game in 40 minutes, particularly after waiting more than two hours for food from that same kitchen the night before. A $40 credit would have resolved the entire situation immediately. Instead, management chose to lose a customer over $40 and left us scrambling to replace breakfast for a team of children on the way to their tournament. The lack of accountability and basic customer service was incredibly disappointing. I would not stay here again.

We were planning our wedding during the pandemic and things were constantly uncertain as to whether or not the wedding would be able go to on. Iman and DJ Kia had routine calls with us to check-in and offer advice. We knew we could trust their opinions and flexility during the uncertain times. On the day of the wedding, DJ Kia was so involved with every aspect of the ceremony and reception. He knew exactly what to do, when to do it, and how to make our wedding day an unforgettable experience. He literally orchestrated our ceremony processional and was making sure everything was running smoothly. Everyone felt at ease walking down the aisle because DJ Kia was there to send them off. We were lucky enough to have Iman MC our wedding, and believe us when we tell you he knows how to put on a show. The dance floor comes alive with Iman on stage and everyone was out of their seats and dancing the entire night. Our cocktail hour ended up going over schedule, which pushed back our reception. It was no worry though, because Iman was there to quickly restructure the timeline and ensure everything ran smoothly. Even with unexpected issues, we felt completely at ease knowing he had us covered. He is such a genuine person who truly cares about his client's happiness. We also used Night Owls for our video production and working with them was a truly pleasant experience. They captured every aspect of the wedding beautifully. In just a few short weeks, we had our trailer and wedding video created, both of which were edited to our liking. They were extremely patient with us throughout the process and the end result is videos we still can't stop watching! Thank you to Brandon and the team at Night Owls for all of their hard work. We also want to give a special thanks to Wake on the sax, Farzan on the drums, and Cyrus on the cello. These three gentleman made the music come alive and our guests could not stop raving about how talented they were. My wife and I still talk about just how great it was working with Exclusively Entertainment and we would absolutely recommend them for your events!
