Uber Eats service availability was hit or miss in this area for summer 2025 at night but during the day I had no issues getting food delivered and brought right to my door. Uber rideshare coming from the airport at night to this location took a while but was available. I would probably bring a car or recommend renting one if you are getting in after dark like I was just to avoid waits. All the staff I interacted with were very pleasant and helpful to myself and other guests during my 2 night stay. Ashley (or Ashlyn, forgive me as I am a little hard of hearing sometimes) was so helpful in making local recommendations when I had questions about specific needs as well. Everyone was very attentive when guests including myself needed anything. The room I stayed in, 130, was very comfortable and it was perfect because it was towards the back right near the back exit. Convenient so you don't have to walk thru the lobby again just to get outside. I didn't bring a car, but it looked like free/self serve parking and there was tons of available parking around. Everything about the room was great for the most part. However, the shower hose in the accessible bathroom for some reason was not linked with the main connection, so I was not able to use the attachment. I love and prefer to use handheld shower hose attachments when available, so I was sad it was not working. I'm sure I could've called over to the front desk to see about using it but having gotten in after 1am and only being there for 2 nights, it was not a big deal at all. The tub still worked great, so I was able to soak in that which was a luxury for me. The floors were very clean in my room which I cannot say about some other establishments I've been in. They didn't turn my feet black lol. Much appreciated there. The blackout curtain was nice to be able to have but lots of natural light available too with the thinner drape. There was no microwave in the room sadly, but I did hear one in the lobby later, I'm guessing near the snacks market to the left of the front desk. I was able to make ramen in my room with the coffee maker and coffee as well so that was fine. Hot food options for purchase at the little Bistro in the lobby are limited on weekends unfortunately so I was not able to grab a hot breakfast on Sunday. They had grab and go items like yogurt and granola for purchase as well as fruit and some pastries. I didn't see what snacks were available in the little market stand by the front desk. Lots of complimentary coffee and tea and water in the lobby which was nice. The fitness room and laundry room were open and people were utilizing both during my stay. I thoroughly enjoyed the heated indoor pool which I had to myself at 6am and hot tub. The customer using the hot tub after me inquired about the jets being turned on. I don't know if they were able to be turned on or not (thinking they weren't), but at least the temperature in the hot tub was just right. The AC in my room was cold and crisp, perfect for the hot summer days we've had. The mini fridge and extra wardrobe space was convenient to have. There was a good size desk set in the room and a very comfy looking chair and foot rest inside which I didn't get to utilize but was handy for my luggage setup. My two night stay was overall quiet, the first night almost eerily quiet lol. Then the second night/day was pretty loud at select points. I think some kids were running around the halls and then the housekeeping cart for some reason was extremely loud and seemed to shake the floor at different times. Other than those things there were no disturbances. Much better than any motel or extended stay noises, I know that lol. Overall, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Kalamazoo for a quick trip. Check in and out was extremely easy and it was a comfortable stay. I would recommend it to be close to the airport and everything Kalamazoo and Portage has to offer. I'll be back!

I rarely have had a Hampton Inn disappoint me, but this one was one of those. Staff and Breakfast team were top notch as usual. Plenty of parking. The problem was the structural issues of this building. It looks like an older Hampton, yet I saw a review of it that seems like it was newer in 2017? Weirdly it is showing its age pretty quickly then. The main issue was the ease of transmission of footfall from the floor above. Yeah you could hear every footstep and creaking of the floor. I would recommend, if that might be an issue to you, to make sure to book the top floor if possible and possibly be conscious of those below you. Since I was aware of that, I tried to be conscious of my steps in the room. Also the room I was in had a pretty good gap in the doorframe, so as you can imagine you could hear everything in the hallway. That usually is not a big problem, but it seems a few busloads of students were there that weekend, and were hanging outside in the hallway, constantly yelling/fighting/slamming doors and running back and forth, late into the evenings, as if it was their playground. I have no idea where the adults were to keep things under control. There is also the regional airport behind the Hampton. Since it wasn't a very busy airport this was not an issue. There was also renovation going on that I was not aware of until I arrived. There were also a few quirks I hadn't encountered before. None of the doors had "do not disturb" signs? I made a makeshift one. I finally got one from them the day before leaving. The oddest was the bed. It was much taller than usual. If you are under 5'6" or have trouble getting into even a normal height bed, you'd have a difficult time actually getting into it ! Considering these issues I cannot give this Hampton Inn high marks. It wasn't anything close to what I usually have experienced.

SLEEP INN & SUITES for a while now... and it's lovely!…read more This is my easy-peasy go-to in the area. It's clean and cute and quiet! And incredibly reasonably priced! Doing local contractor work, I am not in the hotel much at all, and I have to pay my own travel expenses: so, can't think of anything that could meet my needs better. Again: cute, clean and comfortable! the shower water is hot and the water pressure is strong. The beds are supportive, quiet and comfortable. Lots of fluffy pillows. Soft linens. For a bonus, breakfast fits the bill: an array of choices, including hot eggs, and maple sausage. Always yogurt, peanut butter, and bakery items. Hot coffee, all easy to grab. AND The staff is friendly - not bored, aloof or rude - and accommodating. One night I had obnoxious neighbors that kept me up (and didn't respond to my knocks on the wall to shut up!) - so during my next visit, the receptionists remembered and gave me an upgrade in the quietest area. Heaven! Seriously, I sound like a paid promotion but it's not! I think I've stayed here 6 or 7 times in the last six months and I feel thankful to have found it because it makes a business trip more relaxing to know where you're going to stay and know it's going to be a pleasant experience. Thanks to the Sleep Inn staff!

There was no sleeping in or even watching tv. I feel they could have 1. Put us on a different floor if they knew this was happening or 2. Waited till 11 am check out to make this kind of noise. It took some of the fun out of a night away.

The location couldn't be more convenient! (though they could stand to have more parking). The lobby is nice and big, with couches and a TV, and there is a little convenience room that has small freezer items or some packaged foods for purchase, and coffee or tea complimentary for guests. There is also a "lending locker" that has a bunch of items available to guests. I thought that was a nice idea! I saw some board games, a crock pot, and some other kitchen items. Nice touch for families or people in town for a longer stay. There is only one elevator, so keep that in mind if you are in a hurry. There is no pool, but there is a workout room with weights and machines, as well as a laundry room. Laundry is free, but you need to purchase detergent and dryer sheets from the convenience area in the lobby. I did end up using the laundry room, and it was fine. The washing machine did take about an hour, so make sure to plan enough time if you'll need it. There is also a Business Center, though it's really just a tiny room with a computer. The rooms are a nice size. They have basically a full kitchen: fridge, dishwasher, microwave, small stovetop, with plates, glasses, and silverware. I had a king size bed, which was very comfortable. There is a decent size table in the room with an armchair as well as an office chair. The bathroom was clean, and had a pretty good amount of space. I was a little surprised that they only provide 2 towels since housekeeping is not done every night if you stay more than 1 night. I prefer not to have housekeeping done during my stay anyway. I didn't ask for more towels, so I can't hold that against them. Overall I felt like the place was pretty clean, and I appreciate the kitchen and amount of space. The staff was pleasant enough, and the location was perfect for me. If I come back to town for another event at Wings I would stay here again.

We absolutely love staying at the Country Inn in Grand Rapids! We look forward to it every year…read moreespecially the kids. It is cozy and well run. That is why when we visited Kalamazoo for the first time we decided to come here hoping for a similar experience and brand loyalty. I called the local number in advanced before I booked to make sure all of our favorite elements were available. While I understand them pausing the full breakfast due to the pandemic, I asked about their pool, hot tub, workout room, and complimentary cookies. Once the local management confirmed all was available I booked the room. Seeing that I did call in advance, the staff could have warned me about the construction that made it near impossible to find the hotel, then get into the parking lot. All roads were torn up and we had to drive around businesses to find the hotel. A helpful tip would have been nice. Once I entered the lobby and saw the state of the hotel I honestly wanted to try to leave and get my money refunded, but the family had dinner and activity plans and wanted to spend the night. I asked about the cookies and they said they discontinued it. This means they were not truthful over the phone. There was also no hot tub and the workout room only had a treadmill and no ventilation. It was very hot. The pool was sludgy and green, it looked like a film of algae. The person at the desk blamed it on the other customers being in the pool and the chemicals not working. They also said they would check out the pool, clean it, and treat it, which they never did. The pool continued to be green and disgusting. I know others did swim in it, but it did not look healthy and I did not want me kids to get sick or stomach aches from an extremely dirty pool. The room was okay, but the beds were very lumpy and all of the sheets either stained or drown on with markers. The walls were very thin and we could hear the family next door all day and night and people wandering the halls and talking at 2:00 in the morning. They knew there were four of us, but did not give us enough towels. The woman at the front did not want to give me any more, but said she supposed she could give me two more, but not more than that. The toilets did not flush well and things got stuck at the top and it took three or four flushes to resolve any problems. The halls all smelled like stale smoke even though they claimed this was a smoke free hotel. In the morning the grab and go breakfast was behind the front desk. A woman with no shoes had to give you all of your food. She was suppose to put everything in a bag, but touched everything with her fingers and put it on the dirty counter including the coffee cup caps instead of on top of the cup or in the bag. It would have been better to put the food out in the breakfast area with tongs and letting the customers pick up the grab and go, and probably more sanitary. She had each person take their own knife out of a plastic cup which would have been the same amount of touching if it were in the breakfast nook area. No one was openly rude, just not honest about their offerings or cleaning the pool area. They also could not tell me how much I owed until after I paid which is strange. They did not give me any paper work when I checked in either. If I return to the area, I will look for other accommodations.

A Netflix-worthy hidden gem where legends named Punkin' and Shelby walk among us. Let me break it down. I came to Oshtemo expecting a clean bed, maybe some mini waffles, and a working thermostat. What I got? A life-changing experience that deserves its own Ken Burns documentary. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt like royalty. Not modern royalty either, I'm talking full "entering the ballroom in Beauty and the Beast" royalty. I was greeted not by mere hotel staff, but by absolute icons: Punkin' and Shelby. And let me be clear, if there were an Olympics for hospitality, these two would sweep the podium and casually win a Nobel Peace Prize while doing it. Punkin'? A ray of sunshine wrapped in professionalism. She welcomed me like I was a long-lost relative returning from war, or at the very least, like I'd just escaped TSA with all my snacks intact. Every interaction with her felt like a warm hug dipped in Southern charm and sprinkled with Oprah-level generosity. And Shelby, my goodness. Shelby is a hospitality ninja. The kind of person who remembers your name, your story, and possibly your Wi-Fi password before you do. Need extra towels? Already waiting in your room. Want a food recommendation? She'll not only suggest the best spot but probably knows the owner and the backstory of the seasoning blend they use. By the end of my stay, I was wondering if Shelby moonlights as a fairy godmother in disguise. The room? Spotless. Comfortable. Spacious enough that I briefly considered turning it into my permanent residence. The pillows cradled my head like a baby koala nestling into a eucalyptus tree. And the kitchen setup? Let's just say I may have cooked a box of mac and cheese at 11 PM while listening to smooth jazz and whispering "I've made it" to myself. Every amenity worked perfectly. The gym had just enough equipment to make me feel like The Rock without threatening to actually make me exercise. The breakfast? Fire. The coffee? Strong enough to raise the dead. And don't even get me started on the lobby vibe, it's giving Hallmark Christmas movie meets HGTV dream reno. Honestly, TownePlace Suites Oshtemo might be the best thing to happen to Michigan since Vernors and Motown. I left feeling rested, recharged, and kind of emotionally attached to the staff. Punkin' and Shelby didn't just provide service, they provided magic. The kind of magic Disney wishes it could bottle. Book the room. Tip generously. And if you're lucky enough to meet Punkin' or Shelby, know this: you are in the presence of greatness.
