My oh my. We stayed here for a night . Room 10 to be exact. We arrived and was welcomed by the couple that runs the bed and breakfast and the house dog. We checked in and was given some options for dinners and a quick bite to eat . We had an amazing evening here. We enjoyed the quiet evening playing board games and the snickerdoodle cookies they offer. Breakfast in the morning was to die for. Likely the best quiche we have ever had. Worth the stay.

I stayed two nights in the Holland room and had an absolutely lovely experience. The room with it's soaking tub and electric fireplace was perfect, and the little additions like filtered water and lotion were so thoughtful. Breakfast each morning was delicious and the sweet goodies in the evenings were a welcome treat. I was the only guest for breakfast my last day and the hosts didn't pull any stops or make me feel like a bother - fresh coffee and juice with the best breakfast I've had in I can't remember how long. An easy walk to the downtown mall area and two lovely porches to relax on just add to the appeal. Stay here!

The Kalamazoo House is a luxury Bed and Breakfast Inn located just West of the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre and Bronson Park. There is a great selection of dining and entertainment options nearby- many within easy walking distance. In fact- the Kalamazoo House is located less than 1/2 mile west and slightly south of the Kalamazoo City Center. The beautifully restored Kalamazoo Transportation Center, which was originally built in 1887, is within a short walk or cab ride of the Kalamazoo House also. The Kalamazoo Transportation Center is served by Amtrak's Blue Water and Wolverine trains as well as the Greyhound Bus lines 'Express' service. Ground transportation is also available from flights into the Battle Creek-Kalamazoo Regional Airport. The Kalamazoo House offers free off street parking in their private lot or the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts lot which is on the North side of South Street. We unfortunately had a very brief business stop in Kalamazoo, but we were impressed with not only the Kalamazoo House itself- which is a beautiful mid 1800's Victorian, but also with the thoughtful touches that innkeepers Steve and Stephanie Gibson have provided. The basic information for the Kalamazoo House can be found elsewhere in print or on the web- I will do my best to fill you in on a few un-heralded details that may make a difference for you. First of all, the innkeepers have not only done an incredible job of anticipating questions from guests and making the reservation/check in-out process as smooth as possible, but also have done a spectacular job of anticipating guest questions and needs during their stay. One such example of thoughtfulness is the 'Pillow Bar' on the 3rd floor. Many travelers have either a favorite pillow or a favorite type of pillow. When staying at any type of inn, the pillows provided for guests can be the difference between a restful and enjoyable stay and a night of discomfort and lack of rest. The innovative 'Pillow Bar' allows the guest to select a pillow from over 20 different styles to meet their needs and use it during their stay (see photos for more detail). The Kalamazoo House also offers their guests fine luxury linens, a comfortable microfibre robe as well as soft and highly absorbent bath towels. Other small touches we appreciated such as serving juices at breakfast in champagne flutes and the elegant tableware. The Kalamazoo House eschews the all too common and unfortunate practice of mix and match table ware at B&B's. The elegant table ware at the Kalamazoo House complements the appealing plating given to their delicious breakfast items. I came to the conclusion after our stay that the innkeepers at the Kalamazoo House must be experienced travelers. The thoughtful touches and amenities that are offered far surpass similarly priced luxury B&B's that we have stayed at. The question that I am asked frequently after a stay at a new Hotel or Inn is "Would you stay there again" and "Would you recommend it to friends". The answer to both questions is an unqualified 'YES' and you can be sure that we have bookmarked the information for the Kalamazoo House for our future use.

This beautiful bed-and-breakfast in Kalamazoo was the perfect spot to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Jeff and Amy are a very kind, fun and charming couple! The facility is spotless, historic and breathtaking - both inside and out. The breakfasts were amazing. They started with fresh fruit, juice, and amazing coffee, and then you got to pick a savory or sweet entrée. Our favorites, were the pecan French toast, goat cheese, spinach, and artichoke quiche, and the biscuit bake with bacon. The evening treats were fabulous also. We stayed in the Grand Rapids room, which had an amazing Jacuzzi tub. We will return for sure, and hope to see Mr. Prince, the very sweet outdoor visiting cat.

Kalamazoo House Bed and Breakfast - Kalamazoo, MI. Featuring King Suite 8 with private bath and fireplace was a wonderful experience. Quality linens, comfortable and clean suite. Our gracious hosts were very accommodating. I have already recommended this B&B to our local friends #tracystuarttravel

We had such a lovely weekend here. I surprised my hubby with the Warm Hearts, Hot Glass package. The glass blowing workshop was a blast and we spent the rest of the weekend crawling brewpubs and seeing a show at the State. The room was beautiful and really comfortable. The location is perfect.

It looks haunted... something out of a Stephen king novel.. but simply amazing! The rooms are beautiful, the staff is extremely polite, hidden treasures are around every corner! And don't get me started on those amazing cookies!! Will be coming back soon for sure!

Super cute and charming house complete with the cute couple sending everyone off to bed with milk and cookies!

We were moved to Room 207 in which we also found bed bugs. We caught one bed bug and gave it to the front desk. We also emailed multiple photos of bed bugs found in the rooms to the hotel. There was no point in attempting to move to a third room, so we made the most of the situation while we were there and did our best to protect ourselves from the hotel's infestation. Our home and vehicle are now infested with bed bugs contracted from the hotel. We were at the hotel for four nights in total. We requested the hotel reimburse us for the infestation by refunding the cost of our four night's stay. Staff made it very clear multiple times during two separate phone calls that the owner would only compensate a single night's stay and that the owner refused to budge on this. We observed other guests coming into and going out of Room 206 the day after we moved out, so we do not believe that the hotel took any measures to keep those guests safe either. We have already spent more than $1,500 trying to fix this situation caused by the hotel's negligence. Because the owner made it clear they would not attempt to make us whole, we will be reporting this incident to the corporate offices and posting to every public review platform we have access to. We will do everything in our power to prevent others from making the same mistake we did by staying at the Best Western Plus Kalamazoo Suites. Had the owner attempted to do right by us, we would have reflected it in our reviews. They did not. If the owner chooses to alter their decision and attempt to make us whole, then our reviews will be updated to reflect that change.

Doing local contractor work, I am not in the hotel much at all, and I have to pay my own travel expenses: so, can't think of anything that could meet my needs better. Again: cute, clean and comfortable! the shower water is hot and the water pressure is strong. The beds are supportive, quiet and comfortable. Lots of fluffy pillows. Soft linens. For a bonus, breakfast fits the bill: an array of choices, including hot eggs, and maple sausage. Always yogurt, peanut butter, and bakery items. Hot coffee, all easy to grab. My only tiny complaint is that the ballroom on the first floor was a bit cold - I didn't notice it as much yesterday, but today I'm wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt and no sweater and I'm cold. (May go retrieve my coat from the coat check!) Fun story, I also stayed at this hotel about 20 years ago when I took the test for the WMU medallion scholarship (circa late 2004/early 2005, I believe) and I remember thinking the rooms were nice then, too. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations also, I believe their restaurant is under construction but there's still a restaurant option open. Overall I really liked this hotel, at least for a conference, and would return.
