I've recently flown into Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport (JAN) in Jackson,…read moreMississippi [100 International Dr] on Wednesday, 06/03/26. Upon arrival, I was surprised by how small and cozy the airport was. It was extremely easy to navigate through. The baggage claim area + car rental counters were readily available downstairs and the rental center was located directly across the street. The walking distance was relatively short, which I highly appreciated. This airport is the hub for airlines such as American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, Delta Airlines, and United Airlines. I traveled here using United Airlines via the commuter plane, which was actually the smallest airplane I've been on - "CommuteAir." I returned to this airport to fly home to California on Tuesday, 06/09/26. I had such a positive experience with the TSA line as it took under 5 minutes to get through. I must say it was the shortest TSA line that I've ever encountered in life so far, which was beyond convenient. The airport dining & shops included Samuel Adams / Riverbanks Bar & Grill, Dunkin', Pearl River Marketplace and Hudson. I had visited Hudson on 06/09/26, which was a convenience store filled with snacks, travel essentials, apparel, and so much more. I grabbed coffee and an Evian water bottle. The aesthetic of the airport was inviting. The restrooms were well-maintained and clean. All of the airport staff members were kind. Overall, Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport - JAN is such a lovely airport. Exploring around Mississippi by being surrounded by hospitable people and having access to delicious food were the highlights of the trip. I would be more than happy to visit Mississippi at some point again in the future.

Expectations of a small airport just have to be lower than a big international hub. Flying into…read moreJackson is an experience. 1 because you're most likely flying on a teeny tiny plane, but 2 because the amenities themselves are bare and minimal. While it was easy to get in and out of what was their security line, the challenge is that once inside, there really aren't any food options so plan ahead. Another challenge leaving is that you'll have to wait a long time for an uber. There weren't many other people waiting but it did take about 15 minutes for a car to be available. Just be prepared to move a little more slowly here.

Excellent experience today at this airport. My buddy and I flew from Austin, TX to Hammond…read moreNorthshore Regional (North of New Orleans, LA ). Air Traffic Controllers were great at this airport. The Main Terminal Administrator, Elyria was so nice! She invited us in her office and gave us a whole history of the airport and the city of Hammond. She recommended a great restaurant to us and provided us with first class transportation service to and from different parts of the airport and into the town of Hammond. We were introduced to the CEO of Top Gun Aviation on-site. I'll do another Review for Top Gun Aviation. Fuel prices were good here as well. Overall, great experience. We'll be back!

According to Wikipedia and the City of Hammond's website, the Hammond Northshore Regional Airport…read moreis a "city-owned, public-use, joint civil-military, general aviation airport located three nautical miles (6 km) northeast of the central business district of Hammond, a city in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, United States." The airport two lighted runways: "13/31 is 6,502 by 100 feet (1,982 x 30 m) with an asphalt/concrete surface; 18/36 is 5,001 by 150 feet (1,524 x 46 m) with a concrete surface" and can handle large aircraft. It is the largest general aviation airport on the northern shore of Lake Pontchartrain. From my few visits here, there appear to be approximately one hundred based aircraft here and there seems to be available space for a lot more. Although I have been here many times for work, I have never flown from this airport. However, the facilities are nice and the employees with whom I have had contact were all very professional and courteous. It's also a great venue for the annual airshow.

5 stars for TSA? YES....5 STARS FOR THIS TSA!…read more Boarding my flight home in Jackson is always super nice. Granted, there aren't many food options, but there are also never any lines, the process is super fast and for the most part all of the TSA agents are friendly. On my last trip to Jackson I left my FitBit as I went through the checkpoint. I didn't realize this until I got to my connection in Atlanta - when I went to check how many steps I had to compare a before/after walking the ATL airport. GONE! Nothing on my wrist. "CRAP", I thought, "I'll never see it again!" -- I called the airport immidiatly and was connected to TSA. "Oh, yes, we have it! Call this number.....I'm taking it to the office right now". I couldn't beleive it was still there. Someone actually turned it in? I couldn't picture that happening back at my home airport(s)....but this is Mississippi....the folks are nice. VERY NICE. This review NEEDS to mention Mr. Grover. If anyone in a position of management is reading this, please know that having folks like Mr. Grover on your team is a huge win. First off, he was super nice over the phone and via email. After I checked in to see if there was an update on the shipping, he mentioned it was a holiday and that since they weren't picking up, he would go drop it off on his way home. WHAT?! That's above and beyond the call of duty. And so very much appreciated. JXN TSA, you guys are good in my book. I'll never huff and puff when I have to take off my belt and put my computer in a separate bin. You guys have won me over with your honesty, caring and excellent service.
