DASH is a free public bus service operated by CARTA to many of Charleston's attractions. There are…read morethree different DASH bus routes that operate daily with frequent service on the 210 and 211, with buses running every 15 minutes for most of the day. The 213 is less frequent, running about every 45 minutes. While I stayed in the heart of Charleston, I was only able to use it once on my trip as I preferred to walk around most of the time since the city is very walkable. Also, DASH does not operate south of Broad Street, so it is not that convenient if you are trying to visit The Battery. I will say the buses are too big to operate on those narrow streets, anyway. Still, it is nice to know that this bus service is available, particularly on hot sunny days or when you do not feel like walking too far.

At this point, we knew this was going to be an amazing experience! There was plenty of parking and parking for people with disabilities. After parking. We were shuttled to the front gate. We purchased our tickets. They do offer discounts, so be sure to find out what applies to you and your group. We boarded the ferry. There were accommodations for people with disabilities. The ferry ride was fun. The tour guides who were 3 Rangers were very knowledgeable. We observed several dolphins frolicking in the water. Once we arrived at Fort Sumter, it was amazing. The Fort is in great shape and so much to see. They give you one hour before you will need to get back to the ferry. There is a souvenir shop for you to visit. Oh yes, there are accommodations for people with disabilities at the Fort. There is limited seating available at the Fort. Our ferry ride was just as fun heading back. Once off the ferry, there was the shuttle to take is to our vehicle. While in the area. Fort Sumter Ferry is a must visit! You definitely earned your 5-star review!

When I asked to discontinue the service after a single ride they kept my money and were completely arrogant and rude.

I was not refunded the difference. They also pulled this with another school (asked how many kids the day before and brought buses to accommodate that number even though the teacher paid for more). I hope they enough the extra hard earned money from my parents and students. They did not allow kids to use the restrooms on the buses, DVD players did not work, and AC on one of the buses broke on the way back leaving kids sweating. At the time the Uber driver was supposed to pick them up, we got a notification that they didn't in fact have a driver and they weren't able to get us one. Apparently it is basically impossible to get an uber from Edisto, but the app tells you it's available when it is not. DO NOT make the same mistake and instead, schedule your ride ahead of time with Edisto Island Shuttle. They are honest and provide a great service.
