    Another small touch -
    Amy H.

Airwell absolutely exceeded our expectations! Our stay was incredibly relaxing and comfortable thanks to Lisa and Todd's exceptional hospitality and the many small touches most would not consider (bathroom nightlight, sleep machine, bug spray at the outdoor seating areas, charging stations, etc). Our cozy and comfortable bed/linen/pillows, delicious breakfasts delivered to our room (outside and dining room options also available), and tastefully decorated room, all combined to make Airwell a destination in and of itself. If you are considering a B&B - choose this one! You will not regret your decision. Thank you again, Todd and Lisa. We are looking forward to a return visit in the Fall!

Electric fireplace, movies in the cabinets, and some books to choose from!

I absolutely loved my stay here with my husband! Lisa and Todd were wonderful hosts and small touches like the welcome sign with our names and fresh made cookies made us feel right at home. breakfast was stuffed blueberry French toast, crispy bacon, poached pears, and orange juice. The room was clean and cozy, we stayed at Nan's Cottage. I loved the modern farmhouse decor. The bed was very comfortable and the bed sheets were amazing! I had to search for the brand of sheets so I can buy my own set for my home. It was a lovely place for a quick get away from the hustle and bustle of the DC metroplex. We left feeling relaxed and happy after being in desperate need of a break. We definitely plan to return in the future and can't wait to come back!

Relaxation, quiet solitude, and great location. We stayed at Nan's Cottage for 1 night and will definitely be back again for 2+ nights. Lisa and Todd have thoughtfully renovated the property, the buildings, and taken care of every detail to make their guests comfortable. They accommodated my gluten allergy and hubby's lactose intolerance with a scrumptious breakfast. Lisa and Todd are knowledgeable about local activities and provided good advice (and coupons for free tastings). The quaint town of Purcellville is only a few minutes away and several wineries and breweries are nearby so there is plenty to do at a moderate pace. Wonderful stay!

Best bed and breakfast!!!!! We chose Airwell B&B for our accommodations to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We wanted to be close to where we got married (Bluemont Vineyard) and they had the location and privacy we were hoping for. We stayed at Nan's Cottage, had the cottage to ourselves and from the moment we stepped onto the property, we fell in love with the estate. Serene, calm and romantic are a few words I would use to describe the grounds. The hosts, Lisa and Todd are extremely hospitable, they make you feel welcomed from the moment you make the online reservation. Lisa was helpful with finding the perfect restaurant for our special dinner and even helped with finding a spa. And the breakfast, omg, amazing. Candied bacon, egg and broccoli frittata, fresh fruit and out of the oven chocolate chip scones. Sorry - no time for photos of the food, we couldn't believe how yummy everything was! And the best part, they bring breakfast right to your door! I can't say enough wonderful things about Airwell, we plan to celebrate every anniversary here. Thank you for making our first so spe

Manisha and Prashsant, owners of Stone Manor Inn, were personally involved in making sure all went smoothly with our cocktail and dinner party, and it most certainly did! SMI is a lovely old country inn on 14 acres, I believe, with a number of different venues (indoors and out) for meetings, parties, and weddings. The rooms (7 in total) were eclectic, in a good way. All four of their largest rooms that we occupied were spacious, with king beds and spa tubs with separate showers. All were well maintained and clean upon check-in. We had no complaints. I'm not sure when we will return to the area, but when we do, we will not hesitate to return!

I was on the fence to book this place given its hefty price tag, and glad I went for it and completely agree with the glowing 5 star reviews. The bubbly host Manisha is very warm and welcoming. She cordially gave us a 20 min tour around the property, which was built in 1908, and even gave me a bonus tour of the other rooms afterwards. She kindly answered all of our questions and didn't rush us. The Peacecock Room is the most spacious and best room (aside from the bridal suite), elaborately decorated in peacocks. We loved it! The little touches like the handmade soap, a set of wine glasses, and a wine opener made the stay so memorable and special. While the rooms aren't temperature controlled, the electric flameless fireplace kept the room warm. The double capacity jacuzzi was perfect for my hubby and I and even had lights (some of the other rooms have smaller jacuzzi, so be sure to check). The rooms were clean minus a couple of lady bugs and stink bugs (which is too be expected out in the country). Dr. Fauci's assistant stayed here and Manisha informed us of the extensive sanitation process, even the pillows and decorations are quarantined for 6 days! The backyard is well groomed and really spacious with a nice patio and heat lamp, which kept us warm sitting outside in the frigid winter. Our dog loved running around! You can see the stars and constellations really well. It would make a great wedding venue! The Christmas decorations around the property are really nice. The owners really go the extra mile and put a lot of TLC into the property. The 6 course breakfast is delicious and bursting with flavor. Between the veggie quiche, cheesy potatoes, scone, pancakes, yogurt, and fresh OJ, I was stuffed! The fresh butterscotch scone was divine and devoured my mine and my hubby's! The cheesy potato had a nice spicy kick. Everything was so fresh and delicious. All the courses come out at once on a large tray. While my hubby and I chose to sit at the communal table (the chairs are roughly 6 feet apart), you can take the tray up to your room. Manisha and her family greeted us and thoroughly explained the dishes and chatted with us for a bit, even her son made an appearance! The bed and breakfast has a nice bar with wine, cider, and alcohol based on an honor code system. Water and soda is complementary, they even had Coke 0! The complementary fudgy brownies by the breakfast area during the day were sweet and tasty. Again the little complimentary stuff gives this bed and breakfast a nice resort feel. Very relaxing stay and looking forward to coming back!

Celleste, the innkeeper and restaurateur, was exceptionally friendly and made the arrival process seamless. We chose to pay for early check-in, which was well worth it, especially because I had scheduled a massage. When we entered the room, we were greeted with a bottle of prosecco and chocolate-covered strawberries, which was a lovely touch and set a celebratory tone for the weekend. The room itself was charming, clean, and tastefully decorated, with a comfortable bed and an inviting atmosphere that made it easy to settle in and unwind. Before dinner, we enjoyed cocktails at the bar, which was an excellent start to the evening. The restaurant offers an impressive wine list along with a wide selection of spirits, making it easy to find or request nearly any cocktail. We spent some time reviewing the wine list and initially selected a red, but once seated for dinner, we appreciated the guidance of their wine expert, who helped us choose a white wine that paired beautifully with the meal. For dinner, we selected the Four Course menu because we liked the flexibility of choosing our own individual courses, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. The meal began with outstanding bread served with whipped butter, which was memorable on its own. Each course that followed was beautifully plated, served at the proper temperature, and paced perfectly. The attention to detail was evident throughout the meal, and the overall dining experience felt refined without being overly formal. The following morning, breakfast was another highlight. The frittata was excellent, and the croissant was flaky, buttery, and exactly what you would hope for at a French-inspired inn and restaurant. Service throughout our visit--from the bar to dinner and then breakfast--was consistently professional, attentive, and personable. Every member of the team contributed to a relaxed and memorable experience. Overall, L'Auberge Provencale Inn & Restaurant is a wonderful choice for a romantic weekend getaway. Between the comfortable accommodations, thoughtful amenities, excellent food, and genuinely warm service, it provided the kind of experience that feels both special and personal. We would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable escape.

I came across the same clip in a rail safety ad, which made me look up directions to Harpers Ferry from DC. The historic park/town is served by the very MARC trains that pass outside my DC window each afternoon. You can describe Harpers Ferry as *deceptively* close because it's a 90 minute train ride, with planes flying into Dulles close enough to make out the airline. Looking for hotels there, Stonehouse Bed & Breakfast was the first that came up, with great reviews. Chris was very helpful and responsive via text and email. I booked the Top Room, which was $170 for a night including taxes. The quaint B&B has three accessible floors, as the family naturally lives onsite. The first floor is the main entrance with the common/dining areas, and the patio overlooking Maryland Heights and the Potomac/Shenandoah Rivers. The second floor has more rooms, one with a full balcony. And the third floor is the Top Room, with windows overlooking each side of the vintage building. If you Google pictures of Harpers Ferry, Stonehouse is in nearly all of the shots, since the balconies are front and center of the skyline. The town itself is like a real life snow globe. But the B&B, the litany of museums, eateries and shoppes around it, as well as the train station directly across the street make it an overall ideal place to stay, be it for hiking, or for something else: A love of trains is what brought me to Stonehouse, so take note that rail traffic can be heavy in certain times of the day. But the light rumbles also helped put me to sleep in the already soft, cozy bed. A container of water was provided, and while glasses should have been cleaned of dust first, it was still a really nice touch. The room also had playing cards, ear plugs, plenty books and a whole lounge chair. Checkin was a simple set of instructions at the door with my name on it, with checkout simply being your absence at the appropriate time. In my case, I only booked an overnight stay, getting in at 8pm and leaving around 6:30am, with checkout/checkin being the traditional 11am/4pm. While I didn't stay for complementary breakfast, I did catch a stellar sunrise between the mountains, as well as nature footage from the neighboring park. All of that to say, I definitely look to return to Stonehouse B&B later this year.

From the moment you walk in, the warm lighting and calm, elegant setting create a true retreat feeling--relaxing, intimate, and perfectly set up for an unforgettable dinner. We started with the baked brie, and it was the perfect opener. Warm, creamy, and beautifully rich, it had that comforting, indulgent feel without being too heavy. It was the kind of appetizer that makes you pause after the first bite and think, "Okay, this is going to be special." We also shared a salad that was far better than any "starter salad" has a right to be. The greens were crisp and fresh, but the real surprise was the croutons--light, buttery, and so tender they practically melted in your mouth. Every bite felt balanced, simple in the best way, and clearly made with care. For the main course, we ordered the chicken under brick and the scallops risotto, and both were genuinely memorable. The chicken under brick had a beautifully crisp exterior, with juicy, tender meat underneath--full of flavor and cooked exactly right. The scallops were seared perfectly, with that delicate golden crust and soft, buttery center. Paired with the creamy risotto, it felt luxurious and comforting at the same time. It was the kind of dish you keep talking about afterward because it is that good. Dessert somehow raised the bar even more. The chocolate tart was rich, smooth, and deeply satisfying--pure indulgence. The fruit tart was fresh, bright, and perfectly balanced, with a delicate crust and vibrant flavors that made it feel light and refreshing after such an incredible meal. Both desserts were truly delicious and the perfect ending. The service matched the food and atmosphere: welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. Every interaction made the night feel even more special, and it never felt rushed--just warm and thoughtful from start to finish. And a special mention to our waitress, Rae--the most pleasant, kind, accommodating, and positive soul you can find. Her smiling welcome immediately put us at ease and made us feel so happy to be there. She truly elevated the entire experience. If I can give this place seven stars, I would!
