During those three days we needed to be out of the house and get a hotel room to live in during those days and nights. and the job was done in under 2 full days. The company did not put an epoxy floor down, only painted the cement floor in the basement and claimed that was an epoxy paint. We did not know this was not right, until our walls were being repaired and the paint came us from the cement floor. When this was brought to their attention, they informed us that they would put an epoxy floor down and that they would not refund us or compensate us for any time either. They could do this without damaging the new walls/footboards, but after three more days of work (and us missing our own work and pay for those days), the epoxy was put down, but the walls/footboards were damaged. Again, after multiple calls to them, with their office manager/one of the owners not calling us back (multiple calls in over a week), when we did get a hold of them they refused to refund us any money for damages, time and pay missed for 3 more days of work we had to take off, and lied multiple times when telling us they would send someone out to see the damages made by their team/laborers and about being able to do the work without damaging new work done in the basement after their previous work/asbestos

After calling up and speaking with his assistant about his rates and time, I noticed that it was a little more expensive than other home inspectors. She did mention that it is since he is the best, has the best reports, gets on the roof, and takes his time going through. I took Norm and her word for it and had Mark take a look at the property. His assistant called to let me know that he was running late due to traffic yet he still showed up on time, which is always a plus. We spent more than 4 hours looking through EVERYTHING, and I mean he looked at and tested everything. I have been told that most inspectors don't go up on roofs anymore yet Mark got up on the roof, snapped pictures, and was checking it out for 15 minutes. Mark uses a digital camera to take dozens of pictures and has a laptop on site that he uploads them to right away. He puts together his digital report as he goes. In all he provided a digital PDF copy of the report that was 37 pages long with so much detail. Not only did it include a few pictures on each page, descriptions, but also diagrams of how to correct it or what it should look like. Mark also knew I was a first time duplex buyer and would educate me along the way, show me various items, and explain things in detail so I would understand and know for the future. He was very educational and helpful. He may be a little more expensive than others yet what he found I was able to get some serious money knocked off the price so it was money very well spent. What a drag it would have been to go over it all myself and ask for changes later. You can't go wrong here if you need the best.
