We had our floors done by AJ Rose. An Estimator came by and gave us a price. Weeks later, the day of the installation, I got a call from them saying the workers were at the house about to start the job, but they would have to charge me an additional $1525.00 because they needed to remove the old tile first. It was either I agree to pay for the extra service, or they would leave. I was shocked, but I went through with it anyway because I had been waiting for months to get this job done. It very much felt like a bait and switch. I am very disappointed in this type of business practice coming from a large flooring company like AJ Rose. Beware!! read more

Joan K. Recommendation (Burlington store) - carefully document floor surfaces, baseboards, and abutting walls, and have installers review and confirm the condition before installation. After installation, again carefully review condition of same, especially abutting walls on stairs near the base, before signing off on a project. When reviewing installation immediately after signing off on project, and the installer had left, I noticed paint damaged on stairwell wall base which was a minor issue. However, a hairline crack was in same place, and the wall caved in when touched, an area 4 x 3 inches. I immediately took pictures and forwarded to my sales agent who forwarded next to the Claims Department. I had to chase a response over several weeks, and the claim was denied. read more

AJ Rose Customer Service disappears if something goes wrong during a flooring installation. We had AJ Rose install a carpet in our basement on 2/21/20. Everything was great until we discovered the carpet installer had put a nail through our oil fuel line. Bottom Line: We learned this week, August 2020, that AJ Rose has settled with our insurance company. They will reimburse us for the cost of the carpet ONLY IF THE SAME CARPET INSTALLER WHO PUT THE NAIL IN THE FUEL LINE can come to our house and rip out the carpet. They will not reimburse us for the fuel line repair. And to top it all off, the fuel line busting carpet installer keeps calling us and making us uneasy. If you hire AJ ROSE, you better hope nothing goes wrong - because they will not do anything to fix it. read more

We had been to both of the box stores and a couple of local places and have been really turned off about their practices and the lack of accountability and transparency. We finally landed at AJ Rose and I wish I had gone there sooner. The sales people are all friendly and they will help you in the showroom but they are not pushy and will let you look around. They are happy to answer any questions you might have and help you find samples or a color that you're looking for. Everyone that we dealt with was super professional very helpful and super punctual. Both the person who is coming to measure and the guys that came to install our carpet were there five minutes before our quoted time. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this company. Our carpet looks and feels amazing. Purchased vinyl floor for a high traffic kitchen. The selection they had was far superior to the other places we went. Sales people once attached were spot on (sorry just finished watching Ramsey). Installation is where they really shine. Shaun was outstanding. He put in a sub floor, measured perfectly sealed with silicon and I swear I do not know where the seam is. I looked. twice. It might be voodoo. I am having another floor put in shortly and now I don't have to go anywhere else. One stop shop. Professional, friendly, communication about everything. We went to AJ Rose to have the carpets in our office cleaned and his guys really did a great job. Needless to say, it was a tall task. The office is about 5000 sq. feet and desks and cubicles had to be moved all over the place. It was pretty hard to coordinate. But as soon as AJ's guys got here, they went right to work. They used a hot water extraction method to clean the carpets, and the results were pretty impressive. I wish we had taken some before and after pictures. The whole thing was done in a matter of hours and they even helped us move our stuff back. The cleaners were really efficient and had a great attitude the whole time. This purchase was a nightmare from start to finish. We have used this company in the past but things have changed. We were given no information on flooring. Then we were handed a sample of carpet with no choice offered. We signed the contract and were told the installer would be here on Monday am. We cut our vacations short to be home to wait all day. When we called the salesman said he never said Monday. Finally the installer came and made a decision on his own to charge us $1560 for cement he didn't use. They are all defrauders. I order solid hardwood flooring for my 12*13 living room. But they installed engineered flooring for me and charge $2,700 dollars. If To replace the engineered floor with solid hardwood will add the other $1,900 dollars on top. Total cost $4,600 dollars for such size room was a joke, It isn't? When selecting someone to carpet our house, we selected AJ Rose due to their positive reviews and family owned history. Having never installed wall to wall carpeting before, perhaps my expectations where too high, but after 5 months, I am still bothered by what I consider poor installation. The people at AJ Rose were very friendly and helpful. However, the carpet installation quality bothers me. Along many of the baseboards, the carpet barely makes it underneath, making it easy for dirt, debris, and fingers to find their way under the carpet. Many of the corners throughout the installation are not cleanly cut, resulting in either holes between the carpet and corner, or portions of the carpet being folded upwards along the baseboard. Under the radiators are inconsistent installation as well - in some places you can see the plywood floor under the radiator; in others the carpet scrapes the radiator fins. Overall, I would not recommend AJ Rose to my family or friends. read more

Worst customer service I have ever gotten. Voice messages were never returned and when I did talk to someone over the phone, they made it act like I was bothering them. I got better customer service from Home Depot when I was buying new doors than from the family owned business. I went in because co-workers recommended the store. I got tons of information the first time I went and was treated wonderfully. After my house was measured for the carpet, the customer service started declining. I went back in to place my order and the details and explanations were no longer there. I was told that it would take 4-5 business days for the carpet to come in and then they could install it after that. I called back 5 business days later and left a message. My phone call was never returned - when I called back 2 weeks later, I still left a message. This time I kept calling until I talked to someone. I was told that my carpet wasn't there yet - even though they told me 4-5 business days, it was still at least a week away. No one bothered to inform me of these delays and I was furious. How does it seem reasonable to tell me one thing and then make me wait over a month for the carpet to arrive. It was 5 weeks after I ordered the carpet that it got installed - so someone needs to work on their timeline. Additionally, I'm not satisfied with the product they sold me. I spent a lot of money on my carpet and wish I went somewhere else. read more

This is for the Burlington location... Looking for replacement carpet for stairs and flooring options for the kitchen for a home we were buying was easy to do in their large showroom. We had to visit the store a few times to make sure they had all of or info and flooring choices correct. The guys who came to replace the carpet and stairs were quick, efficient and clean. The Pre-finished wood flooring in the kitchen was more involved and required a separate measurement appointment which we weren't aware of until after the carpet measuring was complete. It's not a huge deal, it's just that we hadn't moved in, so asking the seller to allow us in for measuring purposes required going through a few different people. It all worked out though. I have to call soon to have them repair part of the kitchen floor that cracks/snaps when you step on it in one spot, but in general they were knowledgeable, friendly and decent... Might consider them again, but we're closer to the showroom and they seem to have better reviews than Burlington. read more

Visited their showroom and chatted for a while. Team was friendly and helpful but when it came to schedule the project, they didn't even call us back for 2 weeks to schedule the first site visit. Then told us it would be 4-6 weeks before they could get to the house to install the hardwood floors. We told them we wanted this done ASAP and were ready when they were and still took them forever. I understand that they are probably busy and for good reason but that seems crazy to me that it would take 2 months to get hardwood floors installed. read more

Staff steered me to sale rack and recommended stainmaster for same price as others and scheduled the measuring at my convenience. The price came in a little higher than I was looking for, and they worked with me to find a way to cut off a couple hundred dollars. I had a very bad experience with this company. I wanted an estimate on a new kitchen floor. I was told by my insurance company that estimates are free. I spoke with Peter and made the mistake of telling him it was an insurance job, my kitchen had flooded. He told me I had to go to their showroom to pick out a floor. I told him I had the website on my computer and couldn't I pick that way? He insisted that he needed a number and was obstinate about it. So, I picked out a pattern and gave him his number. (I figured I could change once I made a decision on who would do the job.) After a few hums and hos, he told me that someone could come to the house and the charge was $50. I told him my insurance agent said it would be free. He then said "I'm giving you a deal ... we usually charge $75 for insurance jobs." That was it ... before we even got started there was no way I would do business with this company, I don't care how many ratings they have! i'm little surprised at some of the negatives on this one as my experience with them was simply A+ peter from the burlington office listened (rare trait with people this day and age) to what I had and wanted done and then worked up a quote including the coupon that was posted on here. two days before the appointment I called in hopes of having some furniture cleaned (purchased over the weekend) and once again no problems. he then called the next day, day before the actual appointment, to confirm.
